Xoom Gets Sued

When I heard the name “Xoom,” I immediately thought of the international payments company with the same moniker and wondered if there was a connection. There wasn’t. Except that the payments people are now suing the tablet people.

    My guess would be that the settlement will be something like Microsoft's settlement with the insurance software company (name gone from mind) over "Excel". That requried–I'm told–Microsoft always to say "Microsoft Excel" rather than plain "Excel". (The hand drier people didn't get a piece of the action.)

    And Microsoft always did–until recently. I just looked at http://office.live.com and it's plain "Excel" there, with the only "Microsoft" on the page being the copyright notice in the other corner. Did the agreement expire? Or the insurance software company?
