Get an Early Halo: Reach Beta Code

[UPDATE: We’re closing the contest–thanks to everyone who entered! We’ll notify winners soon.]

Want early access to the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta? Courtesy of Microsoft, we’ve got seven codes to give away. These will let you start playing on Thursday, April 29, so you won’t have to wait until May 3 and you won’t need a copy of last year’s Halo 3: ODST. As long as you can download the beta over Xbox Live, you’re good to go.

Here’s what you need to do for a chance at one of the codes:

  • Comment on this blog post with your thoughts about Halo: Reach. Use your valid e-mail address (it won’t be displayed, but we’ll need it to contact the winners).
  • You can alsot Tweet your answer to Harry (who’s @harrymccracken), if it fits in 140 characters including the @harrymccracken.
  • We’ll select people at random and deliver the code on April 29 by e-mail or direct message, so you must follow Harry on Twitter or use a valid e-mail address.

A brief primer on Halo: Reach’s multiplayer: The fundamentals of cat-and-mouse first-person shooting are the same as they’ve always been, but the developers at Bungie added new weapons and tweaked old ones, gave special armor powers that players can choose at the start of match, and created new modes (Ars Technica’s preview has a solid guide to what’s new). The beta allows people to get excited for the game while letting Bungie make adjustments based on how people play in the real world.

Good luck to those who enter. If you don’t win, you can still access the beta on May 3 with a copy of Halo 3: ODST. Either way, you’ll find me playing the beta on Xbox Live as ThePimpOfSound. I’ll destroy you all.

i think this is the best looking halo ever i was just talking about bungie should make a game when all the spartans are alive and you actually have i was so shocked when i saw halo reach, the gameplay looks fantastic and i am really going to enjoy the campaign because the elites are back, the weapons are great and the perks are amazing the sprinting the jetpacks the armour lock and the elites dive i just cant wait for the game to come out bungie you are an amazing game company and in my opinion you have the best first person shooter ever you have taken games to a whole new level well done.

I really enjoy the Halo series, and Reach looks like some much needed improvements to not only gameplay but the fun factor as well.
i can’t wait to try this game out, here’s to hoping i get a beta key *fingers crossed*
and good luck to everyone that enters.

I hope that this game is completely different from Halo 3. Everyone loved Halo 2 and 3, but everyone has also gotten tired of them over the years. People want a new game and from what I can tell, this is a NEW game. It looks amazing. Jetpacks, sprint, shield and more. New weapons and remakes of old favorites. Different gametypes. This game looks like the levels are more massive than previous Halo games, too. The ranking system changes are sound amazing because you won’t get stuck with people that don’t know how to play unless you yourself don’t know how. The veto system also looks much better letting you pick between two different maps/gametypes.

I think Reach is looking super awesome. The new AAs are being used a lot more than I though, the cool down periods are not long at all are they?

  5. Michael Long April 28, 2010 at 1:01 am #

I just finished my finals and I could not imagine a better way to kick off my summer break than some early Halo Reach! I have been anticipating this game since the first week of Halo 3. I’ve been a huge Halo fan since like 2002 and loved Halo 1 and 2 but I was not really a fan of 3. So PLEASE let my 3 or so year wait for another game come to an end by a few days with an early beta code!

  6. Pope April 28, 2010 at 1:04 am #

Reach is looking like the definitive Halo game. Can’t wait to see the customization options!

  7. Jake English April 28, 2010 at 1:04 am #

    Hey
My thoughts on halo reach are the sprint and jetpack look awsome, and will make the game allot more fun and challenging.
The DMR looks like the perfect midrage wepon.
The Graphics look alot better than halo 3 i cant wait for this game to be relised.

  8. l Yankee l April 28, 2010 at 1:06 am #

Halo Reach looks like a promising game for hardcore Halo fans with the new feature called the “Arena”. I am looking forward to getting my hands on the DMR!

  9. Parem April 28, 2010 at 1:07 am #

I think Halo Reach is the best FPS on consoles and will easliy take over Modern Warfare 2’s crown of online multiplayer. Now espeically with jetpacks and new armour abilities Halo Reach looks like it’s raise the bar again. 🙂

  10. Ryan April 28, 2010 at 1:07 am #

I honestly can’t believe how amazing they are making this game. To me, this will by far be the best Halo game. New weapons, new storyline completely and a new feel the the Halo universe. Bungie has me sitting on the edge of my seat.

  11. Ryan Connors April 28, 2010 at 1:07 am #

Halo: Reach looks like a great mix of old-school Halo combat with new game types, weapons, abilities, and a distinct difference between Spartans and Elites. I already have my Legendary edition pre-ordered, and I can’t wait to try out the beta.

  12. Drew April 28, 2010 at 1:08 am #

I’m super excited. the changes to halo excite me and I’ll be happy to flush out some new story in campaign soon after launch

  13. Eric April 28, 2010 at 1:08 am #

Reach looks amazing! I would love to get into the beta early! only 6 days!

  14. Ryan M April 28, 2010 at 1:08 am #

I think this will change everything we know about first person shooters and will yet again put bungie at the top of the pedestal in the gaming industry.

  15. Matty April 28, 2010 at 1:08 am #

Very nice! I’m pretty excited for the Reach Beta should have some fun times with some of my friends.

  16. Andrew Sorgie April 28, 2010 at 1:11 am #

Been part of the Bungie community since Marathon. Absolutely love all of the halo games, still playing Halo 3 actually. Reach looks like a fresh new start for the series while incorporating everything that makes halo… halo. I’m in college now so having the Beta early would be a fun way to show off to my friends here 😉

  17. MGSDOM April 28, 2010 at 1:11 am #

I have loved halo since my first time playing… I was there when halo 3 was launched, when halo 2 died and i hope that i will get years more enjoyment out of halo reach.

Bungie is one of my favourite developers and i’m looking forward to playing more great games in future!

  18. Anthony April 28, 2010 at 1:14 am #

I can’t really so my views on reach as i haven’t played it, but, i anticipate it will be one kick ass game.

    AA’s
    Loadouts
    Active Roster
    Invasion
    Heahunter
    New weapons
    Customisation
    And many more!

They all sound amazing and i 100% back bungie in whatever they decided to add into there game, Bungie have always been fair and i have great confidence in reach to surpass any other halo game up to now.

    Keep making great games bungie!

  19. Teslaz April 28, 2010 at 1:14 am #

Reach is looking to be the best Halo game ever and as a huge fan, Reach is a must have. It has so much new stuff in it like the armor abilites and new guns but it still plays like Halo should so I would really like to test this beta early.

  20. Thomas Zing April 28, 2010 at 1:14 am #

I’m really looking forward to playing Halo Reach with a few of my buddies. I really like how most of the human weapons are going back to hit-scan like Halo 2. I also get on youtube every now and then, and watch Reach gameplay videos, and I cant wait to try out Generator Defense. It reminds me of Demolition off of the Call of Duty series. Well and good luck to everyone particpating in this contest!

  21. Jonathan Duvall April 28, 2010 at 1:16 am #

Just finished got my degree for psychiatry and figured I could not be any happier that the beta is just now coming out :P. Seeing all the new things in halo reach I figure this will be one of the most competitive and strategic game from the halo series so far, and will make most people end up buying halo: ODST just to play the beta for this.

  22. Robert White April 28, 2010 at 1:17 am #

Halo Reach is going to be simply amazing. They have lead the video game world for so very long and other games are still failing in comparison to Halo 3. Halo reach is going to be the next step in online gaming. Halo Reach looks like the most competitive game that has ever been released. It will finally give people a reason to communicate and work together in multiplayer.

  23. Jeff Mccool April 28, 2010 at 1:17 am #

With Halo CE upon its pedestal of all that is great on a FPS shooter, Halo 2 banished to the realms of unplayable Xbox originals and Halo 3 vanishing into obscurity, we come to Halo Reach; the granddaddy of all that is Halo.

The armour abilities look to be an homage (or a wry smirk) to the competition’s attempts to take the Halo beast down and Bungie have once again asserted their dominance by proving that they can do it better.

Sitting here and typing this, I reminisce about the good times on Halo CE campaign, the Silent Cartographer, the difficult to manouvre but endlessly loveable vehicles, Halo 2’s brand new feel, amazingly involving campaign and the gensis of Xbox Live as we know it and finally Halo 3; the game that defined me as a nerd at heart.

With Reach looming omenously and the threat of others getting the chance to play it before me, I beg of anyone reading to give me this code so I can feel like a badass (when really I’m just a dork).

    Thanks, peace out.

  24. Zach Thacker April 28, 2010 at 1:19 am #

Halo Reach is gonna be game of the year 2010. I can’t wait for the beta on Monday. Going to be the most glorious 2-4 weeks of my life.

  26. Jason April 28, 2010 at 1:19 am #

I am very excited for the beta. I played the halo 3 beta and could barely wait for halo 3 to finally come out. Hopefully the beta will last long enough for me to get a good taste of it. I am really interested to see how different this will be from the previous halos. It seems like it could be a bigger jump than from halo 2 to halo 3.

Please let me in early. I am going out of town may 5th, so I will barely have anytime with the beta unless I get in early.

  27. Chris Loiselle April 28, 2010 at 1:20 am #

A long awaited wait well worth it for the next installment in the halo franchise ? we all surely hope so. A pleasant break from the monotonous and serious game play of other first person shooters, The thrill, excitement and fun only a space / science fiction based game can bring. Will the new bungie produciton “Reach” out to us core fans and appease our appetite for destruction ? Can Halo be halo without the master chief, cortana and the other charioteers we have lived and died by? only time will tell.

  28. Jaron April 28, 2010 at 1:20 am #

I’am looking forward to playing the Beta. It looks like Reach will bring groundbreaking changes to the series. May 3rd can’t come to soon!

  29. Buggass April 28, 2010 at 1:21 am #

Halo Reach Looks AMAZING, Bungie looks like they did a great job and it really looks like a ton of fun, I’ve been DIEING to get my hands on this Beta to get in and test this thing, I’ve been very active on bungies forums and i plan on giving as much feedback on the game as i can, i really wanna see this game fully polished and become the best thing out there, as a huge fan of Bungie and the Halo series please select me for a early access code.

  30. Illiam Wallace April 28, 2010 at 1:22 am #

The videos of Halo Reach make me super excited. From what the developers are talking about, it seems that Reach is going to be a balance between the casual gamer and the more competitive gamer. I think that a lot of games are going toward the casual gamer (Thanks Wii) and it is nice to know that Bungie is not forgetting about the people who like a good challenge. I am excited to put away MW2 and focus on my favorite series once again.

Oh and who could forget the MDR? Did you see that thing?! It is part BR part sniper! What’s not to get excited about? Oh yeah…the kids who will 2 shooting me from across the map 😉

  31. Daniel Steer April 28, 2010 at 1:22 am #

Spelling Error: Hope to hear from you 🙂

  32. Camer0nn April 28, 2010 at 1:22 am #

I can’t wait for this game. It looks like bungie is putting more detail into this than ever! I just hope these Armour abilities turn out as good as the trailers show them. OR better of course.

  33. Jerome Rutten April 28, 2010 at 1:22 am #

I am playing halo since halo 1 came out. I have high expectations of this game. But from what I have seen everything looks promising, what I really love are the Armor Abilities and the new weapons

  34. Shaun Warner April 28, 2010 at 1:23 am #

More early codes? im game to try and get one then it would be great to get one just to get an early download cause downloading on may the 3rd is gonna take a long time. <3 Halo

  35. Alexa April 28, 2010 at 1:23 am #

Can’t wait for Reach, I’m very excited for the new armor abilities, how they will play into the new style of gameplay. I’m ready to pop some heads with the new DMR, and i’m super ready for the new invasion mode.

  36. Sam April 28, 2010 at 1:23 am #

Halo reach looks awesome! I cant wait for the beta. The new loadouts and custimisation is a great idea. I play halo 3 all the time but not many of my friends do, they all play MW2 so hopefully reach will bring them back to halo.
So yeah I hope I win a code, good luck to everyone 🙂

  37. Kyler April 28, 2010 at 1:24 am #

I have been looking up info on Reach everyday now and I can’t wait for May 3rd to arrive. I am really looking forward to some awesome invasion matches even though they will be available a little later in the beta. The needle rifle also looks badass and will definately be one of my main weapons of choice. Hope I get lucky and get an early access code. Good luck to everyone and if not, see you online May 3rd.

  38. Ryan April 28, 2010 at 1:24 am #

Halo: Reach looks like it is going to be a perfect game. It builds on all 3 previous Halo games and takes the great parts from each of its predecessors. I cannot wait to use armor abilities because they will completely change the way Halo is played. Better graphics, armor abilities, awesome Elites, what more could you want? Oh and it’s Halo!

  39. Stryker April 28, 2010 at 1:24 am #

I just finished watching the videos Halo:Reach – Birth of a Spartan and Halo:Reach – Carnage Carnival; OMG!!! I am like totally ramped up now to start playing Halo again. I can’t wait for the Beta to start.

I have gotten away from Halo since MW2 and BC2 came out, but I think Reach will take a lot of my time once the beta starts.

The new weapons and maps look awesome. Just hearing the excitment in the developers voices makes you want to play. If you have not seen those videos yet, sign into Live and go watch them.

  40. Craig Carter April 28, 2010 at 1:25 am #

Most likely the best halo game yet, i actually cannot wait for the beta. bungie have made all the right changes

  41. Brent April 28, 2010 at 1:25 am #

I want to assassinate some fools on Reach! Really excited for the new headhunter mode and to help Bungie make a better game.

  42. Sam Searby April 28, 2010 at 1:26 am #

I’m with Michael Long on this one! Finals were hell and a code would be much appreciated. I’m afraid I actually have a huge presentation on the 3rd which totally blows. Winning one of these codes would be absolutely awesome and would be a great way to begin the summer. T

  43. Cameron Brown April 28, 2010 at 1:26 am #

    This.
    Looks.
    Incredible.
Bungie has taken the halo formula and shaken it up big time. But its still halo with all the things we know and love, and a lot more. Armour abilities look like they will make the game far more interesting, the sandbox looks perfect and each weapon has its own niche to fill. I say BRING ON THE BETA. It would be amazing if I got an early beta code, just amazing.

  44. Paul Cordova April 28, 2010 at 1:27 am #

I remember when halo came out, fighting these squid face monsters with midget like aliens fallowing with guns that shoot colored ammo while playing a Rambo like character with a machine gun that sounded like a jack hammer hitting pavement.
And now, around 10 years later Halo Reach is coming and i couldn’t be any more excited! Iv seen tons of videos on Reach and i must say its better then any thing i ever thought Halo could be. The load out system is just what i wanted even if some say it copies COD, no more fighting over weapons and people betraying one another to have it for themselves. The new abilities such as evade and jet packs bring a whole new type of game play that is well welcomed in my book, and the new game types look amazing just cant wait to play invasion!
I remember staying up all night playing halo 2 with my buds and living off mountain dew and top roman, those where some good times and i can see Halo Reach easily bringing the sleep deprived sugar high with warm buns back 😀

  45. Lucas M. T. April 28, 2010 at 1:27 am #

Halo is Halo, and that’s it. Such a great example of a game which the developers do care about their community and fans, and make the game with love. Halo: Reach is going to bring back all those good times we had (and some are having) playing Halo 3 and 2 (although its servers were shut down).

    Cheers.

  46. A Bit Of Zero April 28, 2010 at 1:28 am #

I’ve been an avid Halo fan since Halo:CE and even have played many of Bungie’s, The Halo Series Game Developers, other pre-Halo titles such as “Marathon” and “Myth”. But that’s not what we’re here to talk about now is it?

We’re here to talk of the one game that has filled the imagination of my sleepless nights, the game that has my every limb craving at just the sheer thought of playing it, the game that seems to go beyond the limits of gaming. This game? Halo: Reach!

I’m so avidly involved in Halo that I’ve even chosen to post my name here under my Gamertag: A Bit Of Zero. This code would not just “make my day”
but damn, it’d make my Year!

The more I think about this code is the more I think about Reach and the more I think about Reach is the more I think about the Jetpack madness, the Excellence of Invasion, the beauty of every small landscape detail making me drool by the mouth.

If there was one game I could choose to suffice me for a Decade, Halo: Reach would be the inevitable winner!

    Thank You,
    -A Bit Of Zero

  47. Fabrizio April 28, 2010 at 1:29 am #

Halo is one of the best series ever made IMO. I play a lot of shooters, and while other games use normal weapons with normal bullets, Halo has cool plasma guns and rockets that can follow you around. Halo is unique and Reach looks like the best Halo yet. I would play the hell of the Halo Reach beta and do my part to make the game a lot better. I hope I win!!

  48. zs450 April 28, 2010 at 1:29 am #

I’ve been looking forward to Reach since the first announcment. I’m a big fan of the Halo series and can see myself spending many more hours of my life in front of the 360 with this one.
Like many people I think the first one was the best so far for the story. The second made Live what it is today and the third was good but mostly just improved the multiplayer experience. After playing through ODST, I have high hopes for Reach being the best of the series so far.

  49. Mike April 28, 2010 at 1:31 am #

HAlo: Reach will be very tasty. VERY

  50. OlvaR April 28, 2010 at 1:32 am #

Reach seems to be a natural evolution of halo to me…but really it looks so good i can’t really say anything that can be said with words….

  51. João Batista April 28, 2010 at 1:33 am #

Halo is now to die for. The best halo experiece has finally arrived on Xbox 360, with enchanced graphics and the whole new armor abilites. Like Bungie said, this game will be the definitive Halo in the history of all Halo games.

  52. Andy April 28, 2010 at 1:33 am #

I’ve been excited for Reach ever since it was announced, and that excitement just compounds with each new announcement.

Invasion looks like one of the most fun game modes in any FPS so far, and I can’t wait to play it.

  53. Kress Merrill April 28, 2010 at 1:33 am #

I love the direction the game is going, with the arena system I feel like there’s a dedication to the game to get to that Onyx tier. All of the armor abilities, new weapons, and new game modes all stay true to Bungie’s ability to bring change to a franchise, without ruining it (points to MW 2 :/ ). All and all, I feel Halo Reach, like all Halo games, is going to triumph by dominating the xbox live servers for years to come.

  54. John Slitzger April 28, 2010 at 1:35 am #

I’ve played all the halo games that Bungie has graced us with and do plan on getting into this beta. If I do get a key it will save me $30, as I would not have to purchase ODST in the upcoming days.

  55. Rob April 28, 2010 at 1:37 am #

I’ve played Halo since the very beginning and with every new Halo title I’ve been more and more impressed with what the game has evolved into. Nothing new here. I think I can expect the same. Reach is going to be the best Halo yet. When you think about that it’s kinda hard to believe. I’m sure I’ve said that about each previous title but they just keep getting better and better. Can’t wait to get on Live and fight for Reach! See you all out there!

  56. Jack April 28, 2010 at 1:39 am #

I think that Halo Reach is going to be the perfect ending as Bungie’s last game. The gameplay, grapphics, and everything about it just seems to be extremely solid and well polished this time around. Reach will be everyone’s favorite for a long time to come. Can’t wait for the beta also.

  57. Ryan Rockets April 28, 2010 at 1:39 am #

This game looks simply amazing. I believe Bungie is going to be able to raise the bar for online video games once again. People will not understand the sheer greatness of this game untill it is released.

  58. Kieran Price April 28, 2010 at 1:40 am #

This saturday i have a few mates coming over and we all love halo if you could give us the beta early it would be much apprecated and if there was anyway we pay you back here is my gamertag – kieranprice

  59. Darius Nouri April 28, 2010 at 1:40 am #

I personally feel that Halo Reach is going to be an amazing game. Whether it be from locking your armor down, to flying the skies of the Halo universe, reach truly proves that it has a lot of new tools to improve your multiplayer experience. I can’t wait to be honest, I think it’s going to be amazing. Knowing that in the future, I’ll be able to fight in the past is truly exciting! I believe that the credit system is going to be a great since it gives players a new goal to “reach”. Knowing that to stay on top, you’ll need to play daily will surely spark player activity.

I truly am excited for Reach, I cannot wait.

  60. technologized April 28, 2010 at 1:41 am #

What I’m most excited about with Reach is that Bungie seems to have pared down what is superfluous, and added refinement. Gone is dual-wielding, useless weapons like the SMG, and equipment which you could never use at the perfect moment before losing it, and in comes a fiction-driven multiplayer mode in Invasion, Covenant that don’t speak comical English, armor abilities that give you a consistent strategy to use while you play, and an overall darker, more serious tone. As a long-time Halo fan, I like it!

  61. Aidan April 28, 2010 at 1:41 am #

Have been a massive Halo fan since the first game (I actually went out and bought an Xbox for Halo: Combat Evolved!), and love the direction they’re taking with Reach. It seems like they’re really visiting the roots of the franchise, and making something that is not only fun to play, but *cool*. Especially love the idea of jetpacks…that’s definitely going to make things interesting! Really looking forward to playing the beta and getting messy with other Halo fans!

  62. Joe Garshene April 28, 2010 at 1:41 am #

This game is going to rock. I have always loved all the previous halo games but I believe this game will top them all. Games are still trying to catch up to Halo 3’s greatness and I think that Halo Reach will be the top of the line game for years to come.

  63. Khalid April 28, 2010 at 1:41 am #

I’ve only started playing the halo series when halo 3 came out, but i immediately loved everything about it, the storyline, the campaign, the multiplayer, and by just looking at the trailers for halo reach i am so excited to play a game that is even better! i am looking forward to the jetpacks and new gametypes, but most of all, the new weapons.

  64. Mr. S April 28, 2010 at 1:42 am #

I’ve been playing halo since 2001 and each time Bungie releases a new iteration it just gets better and better. Since Bungie stated this will be their last halo title I expect them to hold nothing back. Halo reach will be the definitive Halo title.

  65. Matthew April 28, 2010 at 1:43 am #

I’ve always been a halo fan; I want to try the Halo Reach Multiplayer due to my likeness of the entire series.
It’s a fantastic way to start my summer personally; I want to test the new core abilities of Spartans and Elites.

I want to test the objective map layouts and test Head-Hunter so I can personally crack some skulls! Also who doesn’t want to carry a stockpile of skulls = D

Personally Halo Reach for me would be awesome & to carry flags to their designated areas to mix up game-play is fabulous.
I was in the Halo 3 multiplayer beta, and to be in this beta it would make me fly high ^^! = D
I will test Halo Reach to its ultimate limit !

  66. Trevor Turner April 28, 2010 at 1:43 am #

All i can say is Game Of The Year!!

  67. FKZ April 28, 2010 at 1:46 am #

Halo Reach looks amazing, with the vast new features being put in. The customization, the armor abilities, new game types, and many more, make Reach to be a very promising game.

  68. TY April 28, 2010 at 1:48 am #

This is gonna be the best Game since Halo CE

  69. Zac April 28, 2010 at 1:48 am #

Well, I’m not going to try and glorify this story, As I CAN wait for the beta, but here goes:
I started playing Halo CE on the computer, when I downloaded the demo.
I eventually went out and bought the entire game, Playing it for hours on end.
In 2006, I bought an xbox (Even though it wasn’t properly functioning, as the Xbox wouldn’t read the disk sometimes) and bought Halo 2, Playing with my brother every spare moment I got.
Eventually my dad bought me an xbox 360, In time for me to play Halo 3.
And now I’m waiting for the Halo Reach beta, So I play with my schoolfriends.
    But yeah.
    Thats about all.

I hope this game have a great balance on weapons, a brand new gameplay and lots of fun! I’ve not played xbox in months, I’m just waiting for this game, and would be awesome if i can play it earlier (: Thanks

Halo Reach seems to be improving Halo in all the right places and adding new and exciting additions. The Ranking system has been transformed into a divisional and seasonal based system, this should prove to be much better than Halo 3’s somewhat lackluster ranking system. Armor Abilities look like a major improvement over equipment and should make for interesting and more tactical encounters online. The weapons all appear to have very defined roles and there is fewer guns that share similar roles. One new addition that I believe will help online improve is the new social settings. This will hopefully help people find others that play similarly to them and make online encounters much smoother. Overall, I think Reach is proof that Bungie really does listen to it’s fans and genuinely cares about their opinions and wants.

When I first played Halo CE all I did was dream about it, until I got my first xbox and Halo CE. Halo CE changed me into the more passionate gamer I am now. Then I waited in line a saved all my lunch money for Halo 2. I played it, loved it, and then began my venture into the online space for the first time. Halo 2 online are some of my fondest memories with my friends. Halo 3 released and I was excited as ever. Though it was a great game it fell short of my expectations as did ODST. I thought that I had lost interest in Halo, which was sad for me. I saw the Reach Vidoc and it re-lit the Halo passion that I once knew. I can’t say I have ever been more excited for a game in my life. It would mean a lot to me to be able to play the beta as well as very nice to play it earlier than May 3rd.

My good friend Jared Newman :D, There are not that many good Multiplayer games on the consoles, for the past 3 years when i 1st got my xbox 360 i was absolutely obsessed with halo 3 and cod4 but after about 2 years of playing both i got bored, and i couldn’t find any other “FUN” online game so unfortunately i took up World of Warcraft :O, then during 2009 i was informed that Modern Warfare 2 was about to be released i was super exited i woke up early in the morning to get it 1st day, i was extremely disappointed the game just got boring very quickly. I wasn’t sure if it was the game or if it was just me getting tired of Video Games in general and that i needed to move on with my life. Then comes along Halo: Reach and im really exited, i really think this game might blow Modern warfare2’s online community out of the water,(nothing personal Infinity ward), to me this looks like it halo3 and cod4 just had $#* and birthed a baby which they called halo reach( which is great), people say the graphics for reach arent the BEST but they sure are one of the prettiest to look at. The Arena makes me jizz in my pants, ive always been competitive in games, ive just pre ordered my copy of the legendary edition wich costs are FORTUNE here in australia. k im gonna stop now 🙂 may 3rd, my Gamertags : AX1L, and who knows possible even april 29 🙂 . PEACE and Rock n roll

From what bungies put out there so far Reach looks Awesome!!
from the looks of it Reach is not a step back in time but more a step into the future for Fps games! Halo reach will defintiely redefine our look on the genre and in no dispute will definitely up the standard for xbox live games. I have also played the halo games since the beggining and seen this beautiful awesome badass grow into an even more awesome badass game! I can wait to play the beta 🙂 come quickly may third!!

  77. Matt April 28, 2010 at 1:52 am #

I beleive halo reach will set a new bar for first person shooters. With each halo game bungie creates they some how manage to top there last. I beleive halo reach will be fun and entertaining and I will keep it in my xbox for a long time. Bungie listen to the community and keep their games fresh and exciting. I was kind of worried about camping being in halo reach with the introduction of health packs but im sure i could use my pro pipe to whipe them out :). BUNGIE WILL RULE THE WORLD!!!

  78. Rob April 28, 2010 at 1:53 am #

From what I’ve seen, it seems like Bungie is finally going back to its roots and recreating a new Combat Evolved. I’m really excited to see what Reach can bring to the table. Playing the series since the original, I’m excited get a feel for the game and compare it with the others. I will play this game nonstop until it’s shutdown. First load-out will definitely be the DMR/Pistol. All that’s going on in my head is Reach, Reach, Reach!

Halo Reach looks like the game Halo fans have been waiting for, trust me, i loved all halo’s even ODST 😛 , (i have been a diehard halo fan since i was under 10 years old LOL) Anyway, it looks like they have made many changes but have kept the stuff that makes halo well… halo but amped up the epicness as far as it can go. I have been playing Halo as long as i can remember and ever since that Reach first trailer hit, i have been scouring every corner of the internet looking for information on this god of a game. Reach will be the Game of all GAMES…

The beta looks amazing, i was so pumped but then tragically my 360s disc reading laser thing is out of allignment and microsoft wants me to pay $200 for repair, which i do not have 0.o so it cannot read discs meaning if i cannot get a 360 by May 4th (It comes out on May 4th here in New Zealand) i may not be able to play the beta :'( This code will enable me to since i wont need to access it through my ODST disc. I am sooooooooooooo pumped for reach and if i missed out on the beta, i would be crushed…

  82. Rory April 28, 2010 at 1:53 am #

Bungie did an amazing job with this one. It seems like they covered all fronts of all the heavy hitters in the gaming industry right now. For instance, they still have the good old Halo 3 mechanics there whilst bringing back some key essentials from Halo 1 (i.e. the pistol and arm length melee.)

They also have the Call of Duty aspects there aswell so any newcomers to the series, for instance, CoD players coming from the PS3, will feel at home because of the progressive XP ranking, dubbed “Credits.” What I like coming from Battlefield: BC2 right now is the “Invasion” Mode. Squad spawns and outpost spawns is a great feature to a Halo game especially with pre-spawn kit selections – awesome.

Reach is the game of the year, it will be the game of the century. And I cannot wait to try out all the protype weaponry for the UNSC side and Covie side, and the armor abilities and the new touch by touch character customization thats makes the character the way YOU want the character to look like.

  84. Eddie April 28, 2010 at 1:58 am #

I remember when I saw the first halo for the first time, I was so impressed I went out and bought an Xbox just so I could experience that game. I played it to death. I had never played a video game that had that spooky otherworldly feel, and the graphics were amazing. I was sad to not get the same feel or excitement from Halo 2 or 3, Nor from ODST. I am hoping Reach might bring back that feeling of being part of an alien experience and not just feel like a video game. I have my fingers crossed.

  85. Robert Valentic April 28, 2010 at 1:59 am #

I think Reach is the definitive game made by Bungie for the people. In previous Halos there were suppose to be Jetpacks and various features in Reach, making Reach everything that Halo should be.

Reach has more than just multiplayer, there is also campaign. I am really looking foward to the Campaign in Reach. Most people just think about multiplayer, but I think the campaign will blow my mind even more.

Reach Campaign and Multiplayer combined will give you little kiddies are heart attack at the age of 9. So be prepared to feast your eyes on something that will mark its place in video game history for ever…..Halo: Reach.

Im also looking foward to what Bungie has said “we are doing something in Reach that has never been done before in Mulitplayer”. Of course they were Talking about ARENA.
    Im gunna go Gold.

    The Beta its Awesome.

I’ve followed the halo series from before it was released. When I played it at a friends house because i couldn’t afford an Xbox, I fell in love. I love the series. Read the books. Watched the Legends. Even active on Bungie.net. I really can’t wait to get my hand on the beta. Looks like Bungie is going out with a bang with the halo story. If i played the beta a few days early. I’d be extremely grateful.

Hey, just me commenting about halo reach. I really hope I get an early code because I don’t have halo 3 odst since I’m saving up for reach (I’m young), so I really hope I’ll be able to play the halo reach beta with my friends by downloading it (if not I’ll be all loner playing halo 3). Halo reach looks awesome, the customizable spartan, assassinations and the armor abilities pretty much summarize (elite going ninja with evade and assassinating with an energy sword is SWEET).

    Thanks,

    Erwin

  94. Mark C April 28, 2010 at 2:07 am #

I have real high hopes for Reach. For me, the Halo series is in a lull right now. Halo 3 just wasn’t up to the standards I came to expect and to follow that with an expansion retailed at full price. I look back at Halo 2 and it was the greatest online console game Iv ever experienced. From what I have seen it appears Bungie has taken out some of the items that ruined Halo 3 for me. I’m glad to see the pick up items like bubble shield, health regen and the launching pad thing are gone. Even thought they have something like the bubble shield, I like how the user can’t attack or move. I think the load out is a good idea, that way you don’t get stuck with some gun you don’t like. With Halo 2 I was a fan of duel wielding, that was the new thing. Then in Halo 3 it was still there, but didn’t have nearly as many weapons on maps you could pick to use. Even though I liked it, if they weren’t gonna support it all the way, getting rid of it is for the best. Last thing, I hope they fixed the melee system. Annoyed the heck out of me when you would be fighting someone, you both go in for the melee and both die.

  95. Chris Hamilton April 28, 2010 at 2:11 am #

I’ve been playing Halo ever since it was released here in Australia on March 14, 2002. While I love the multiplayer, the campaign and single player story has always had me interested.

I’ve always, always been a massive fan of the fundamental things that made Halo: CE so great – such as fall damage, health packs & no dual wielding, so its no surprise that I’m stoked to hear that these features will be included in Halo Reach.

I’m really liking the look of Invasion. Especially the way they introduce new stages and allow you to get better loadouts as the game progresses. I’m also really impressed with the way they’ve included Elites into multiplayer.

Very much looking forward to getting some gametime in the Beta!

  96. Suppy B April 28, 2010 at 2:11 am #

Bungie have consistantly made brilliant games and ive played every one of them since oni, cannot wait for the reach beta its got to be my highlight of the gaming calender until the fall release of reach that is of course!!

  97. TheDP117 April 28, 2010 at 2:15 am #

Halo Reach is the last halo game and is expected to be the best of all halo games. Looking from trailers and gameplay, Halo Reach is really the best halo game of all and even the beta will just be great.

  98. Michael April 28, 2010 at 2:15 am #

First and foremost Halo: Reach Beta looks amazing.
The best part about the beta is that they are bring back hitscan from halo 1 which gets rid of the random stuff that can happen across the map as you shoot someone. This improvement alone will make this the game of the year for all Xbox owners!

  99. ElzarTheBam April 28, 2010 at 2:15 am #

People always say whats so special about halo, but i never answer them, yes, there are obvious points about the games in general that have ensured it survival and success. It was in the summer of 2001, that i picked up an xbox and by chance halo as i didnt really know much about the game. 8 Hours later, no game in existance mattered to me. I knew i was gonna be a halo fanboy, there and then. Good thing then that bungie has always delievered when it came to the halo games and in that i see halo reach not just as a game but as a continuation of something that clicked back in 2001 and i am reminded of the care-free days, plus the it looks sweet! 🙂

Basically I’m excited for Halo Reach for 3 reasons.
    1. It’s taking a step back to it’s roots and seems like it’s going to feel more like Halo CE
    2. They’ve eliminated EXP and ranks and have incorporated something even better for competitive play, The Arena.
    3. It’s a new Halo game, what more reason do I need?

Halo: Reach is going to be another fun Halo game. Each Halo game was quite different from the last and each one was a great game in their own way. Reach is going to be taking the series in a new direction in regards to campaign and multiplayer, taking all of the good from the past games and not being afraid to try something new. I look forward to the Beta.

  105. Triton April 28, 2010 at 2:21 am #

I can’t wait for Reach. Gametype map combos like Stockpile/Swordbase and Invasion/Boneyard look amazing. Not to mention the weapons, which look far more balanced, much like Halo CE. And I suppose having a jetpack will be pretty awesome too, especially on Swordbase.

  106. Mark S. April 28, 2010 at 2:28 am #

ok lets face it if it wasnt for halo 1, 2, or 3, most people that are addicts of games wouldnt be those kinda game addicts that they are today, hell half of them probably wouldnt even know what an xbox is. And personaly, i dont care if i “dont have a life” just because i like playing a game. if football can entertain people (for what ever reason not saying its retarded just dont see whats so fun about being tackled to the groud by other men) why cant the less athletic people play halo or call of duty for entertainment. sorry that was alittle off topic but, for halo reach, great game from the trailers that ive seen, congratulations to those who win a code and are playing the game on the 29th, hope to be one of those people playing with you

  107. jeremy April 28, 2010 at 2:31 am #

  108. Mike K. April 28, 2010 at 2:31 am #

Halo has always been a series that I have held close to my heart. I admit I stopped playing Halo 3 a while ago, moving on to Modern Warfare 2, and currently playing Bad Company 2, which I love. But still, these games are no Halo. The first console fps I had ever played was Halo: CE at a friends house. I ended up buying the Xbox 1 for Halo 2, and purcahasing an Xbox Live subscription to play online. I still think I have logged the most hours into that online game more than any other. Halo 3 was an awesome game, but I didn’t think it was that great of a successor to Halo 2, and have been patiently waiting for the next Halo. ODST was a great filler for my Halo cravings for a while, and actually had one of my favorite campaigns of them all, next to Halo: CE. As for Halo: Reach, I have to say from what I have seen, I am impressed, and I can see this game being my primary go-to game online quite some time. Bring on the Beta!

Halo 1 Combat Evolved – The Pllar of Autumn locates a huge ring-like structure called halo but then, the ship was attacked by the covenant and was destroyed but masterchief, who is inside the ship, managed to evacuate with the ship’s AI, cortana. They continue to fight their way through the covenant.
Halo 2 – Masterchief, now equipped with the MJOLNIR Mk VI Armor, soon discovers another ring and the covenant’s plan to use it. Masterchief and The Arbiter manages to stop the ring but is still standby but leaving cortana with the floods.
Halo 3 – Masterchief stops the ring and saves cortana from the flood. When trying to escape, the Arbiter lands on Earth and leaves to go back to their home planet but masterchief and cortana is left behind floating in space, a planet is shown near the floating ship.
halo 3 ODST – In the mids of events on Halo 2, a group of ODST is deployed on Mombasa but is caught on a slipspace, the ODST soon manages to regroup and retrieve a special engineer.
Halo Reach – Prequel to the Halo Combat Evolved is the story of Reach where SPARTANS were once being trained. It revolves on the story of NOBLE TEAM.

Halo Reach will be another great game!

  113. Kyle Matthis April 28, 2010 at 2:50 am #

I think Halo Reach is gonna be good because I get the feeling it’s gonna bring back that hope of desperation and wonderment. In the first game there were moments when I just felt like I was the only man standing with an assault rifle in my hands with my back to the wall. Though the other two were good no doubt I never really got that feeling again. I look forward to that feeling of knowing that the odds are stacked amazingly against you but you can do it. Because we are Spartans.

  114. Patrick April 28, 2010 at 2:50 am #

Halo: Reach is going to be the best of both worlds because they’re going back to what made CE so great and they’re mixing it up with the new and stylish armor abilities such as armorlock and jetpacks! Reach Game of the year 2010!

  115. HRBIII April 28, 2010 at 2:51 am #

Actually, Halo 1 sucks, Halo 2 is not even near Halo 1, Halo 3…cmmon, you got to be kidding me its the most boring game to play most especially ODST. What will I even think of Halo Reach-It will be the worst game of all. If you really think Halo is great then, prove it, show it to me that Halo Reach has the guts to pwn other games. Let me play if Halo reach is really that exciting.

Halo Reach is going to be the downfall of human civilization, I can’t wait.

The new AA are going to be a big improvement in the way MM is played.
It’s go be sick tits bro.

  117. Guardian Hunter April 28, 2010 at 2:53 am #

Reach certainly does look like an interesting game, Bungie has really changed the game play dynamic up from what it has been in the previous games and created quite a few innovators in Reach.

Some things about the beta which I’ve noticed are interesting are that they have not shown any human vehicles besides the warthog and the tank and there definitely are new vehicles. Also we haven’t seen any mention of turrets so I’m wondering if they’ll even be in the game.

Overall, I think people will find much more satisfaction from using armor abilities than equipment; as Bungie put it that the fatal flaw of equipment was that one often held onto it until they thought it was the perfect moment which in a lot of cases lead to the mis-use of the equipment or dying without having used it. Also in regards to the new assassination system I am wondering how this will work out in terms of taking longer to assassinate someone because of the animation then the person performing the assassination getting killed in the process. I’m sure Bungie has thought of these types of things but I still wonder how they will play out since it hasn’t been explicitly explained.

From what I’ve seen of the individual maps, I’m most intrigued by Boneyard which I’m assuming is probably true of most people given the absolutely massive size of the map and the fact that Bungie has designed an entire gametype specifically to play on this map. When Reach launches this map is going to be something that will almost not even work in anything less than Big Team Battle unless they use the shield doors and some creative forging to prevent people from accessing parts of the map like what was done with Sandbox and the Sky bubble and Crypt.

I don’t have to much to say about Overlook, I haven’t seen a terrible amount about that map but apparently it has some big significance to the campaign of the game and it is touted as having some unique features related to acquiring weapons so I certainly looking forward to discovering the nuances of this map. In terms of looks, it seems like a what they were going for is prefabricated colony scene where all the buildings simplistic and there is more nature than human technology. That angle would certainly give this map a unique flavor, so hears hoping its the case.

As for Sword Base, this is a map I’m particularly excited about as I’ve wanted a remake of Boarding Action for the longest time and this seems to deliver on that as a spiritual successor. Like Overlook I haven’t seen to many videos on this map so I can’t comment on the intricate layout that it apparently has but the central area does seem really at home for use of the jetpack and I imagine sprint and evasion are going to be to highly used armor abilities for that hide in the corridors.

The last map, Powerhouse reminds me so much of Highground it looks like it has all the same textures and the same general storm-the-base feeling but I don’t think this is probably how its going to play out given the armor abilities for invisibility and armor lock will allow much easier infiltration of the bases and thus give a team a much more difficult time controlling any given area for to long a period. Out of all the maps, so far I think this is the one I am inclined to like the best even though I usually like the larger maps for the Big Team Battles that are played on them. Hopefully, when I play I’ll be able to find out more about each map and then make a more accurate assessment.

  118. Matt Foster April 28, 2010 at 2:54 am #

I can’t wait to jetpack around Halo: Reach! I think Bungies outdone themselves this time!

  119. Damon April 28, 2010 at 2:56 am #

Reach looks immense so far, another game where the multiplayer will keep me entertained for years to come.

The thing I’m looking forward to most out of the multiplayer is the massive variety of gametypes this time round. You’ve got things like Stockpile, Headhunter, Race (not in beta, but I can wait). That’s what I think makes many people enjoy halo: it covers a very wide spectrum of players. You can be super-competitive, or you can just have a mess-around game with your mates.

  120. IRock!Man April 28, 2010 at 2:58 am #

Dude! Halo Rocks! Shooting those grunts till they spill their guts out, Dead prophets that looks like a boulder that you cannot move, Floods that jump everywhere, they even sometimes fall die in falling in the wrong place.

There are more fun things to do like those suicidal grunts and those gorilla looking brutes. I even saw one peeing.

    Halo Rocks Dude!

  127. Fraser April 28, 2010 at 3:16 am #

This game is shaping up to look like one of the best Halo games yet. It’s good to see they are implementing things such as “Sprint”, which have been mentioned in the books. The armour abilities are also a great idea. It’s cool to see that Elites have “Evade”, as I always remember Elites using that in Halo: CE when I threw grenades at them. 🙂

So all these videos on the Halo : Reach beta are driving me nuts! To the people who think that this game will fail are wrong. I can already tell that this game will be TGOTY and that it will want PS3 fan boys want to buy an Xbox just because of Reach hahaha. But yeah I think Halo : Reach is going to be super awesome!

  135. Stu wood April 28, 2010 at 3:32 am #

Halo has always been my favourite series of all time. Halo CE was the first console game that I ever played and halo 2 was the first online game that I really got into. Halo 3 was awesome and IMO the campaign is the best in any shooter (bar halo CE of course) and ODST was a good new twist on the series.

I am looking forward to halo reach a lot and it would be so cool if it didn’t have to wait untill monday.

  136. What is the best Game?: April 28, 2010 at 3:34 am #

    It is Halo Reach!!!!!
What is the site that gives you a chance!!!:
    It is Techologizer!!!!!
halo Reach is the Best Game!!!!

  137. amar hussain April 28, 2010 at 3:35 am #

In my opinion halo reach is going to be awesome. Im especially looking forward to new armor abilities such as armor lock, I can’t wait to play this. Hoping I get an early beta code key and good luck to everyone.

  138. Rick April 28, 2010 at 3:36 am #

i think reach will be awesome because think how many times you can use armor lock to survive that incoming warthog run.

  139. SilentAlfa April 28, 2010 at 3:37 am #

Halo Reach looks p. sweet and I want a beta key thanks in advance

  140. About Halo Reach April 28, 2010 at 3:38 am #

Halo Reach is the successor of halo combat evolved, halo 2, halo 3 and halo 3 ODST. What do you think will the game be of these great games.

  141. Good Luck!!! April 28, 2010 at 3:42 am #

Seeing from how many responded to this give-away, Halo Reach is going to be a success,
The More the responders the more luck you will need to get.
Good Luck everyone!!!You’ll need it. Whoever gets it shall deserve it and whoever does not will find a legit way to join the beta.

  142. Oscar Solano April 28, 2010 at 3:44 am #

Cant wait til Halo Reach comes out, I’m already growing impatient waiting for the release of the reach beta… I wonder if this will be the game that topples MW2’s dominance as the current overall MP Shooter, then again Battlefield BC 2 didn’t. Either way I can’t wait to pawn some noobs.

  143. danny polson April 28, 2010 at 3:44 am #

I lOVE HALO and always will main reason i got an xbox. I just hope Reach will still feel as competative as the other Halo’s that is what makes Halo better then other fps.The new GAME TYPES look awesome head hunter and invasion are gona be great, i’m not sure about generator defense i hope this will be good. i hope the amour abilities don’t change the classic gameplay to much. Can’t wait for the beta get try out all the new deadly arsenal see you all on Reach.

  144. Darron April 28, 2010 at 3:45 am #

My ODST disc has broken and i dont have any money left. DAMN IT.
But i think mayb ill play it at a friends house but its gonna be a kick-ass game.
This is gonna take over all kinds of games HALO REACH FTW.

  145. Great!! April 28, 2010 at 3:47 am #

See my name up there?, That is what Halo Reach is.

  146. Catrina April 28, 2010 at 3:50 am #

Im new to halo and instantly fell in love with it. really cant wait for the beta hope i get the pre-code Reach is gona be amazing.

  147. DoomBring April 28, 2010 at 3:50 am #

Bungie deserves a place at the timeline for giving all their efforts into making the games that makes us play our xbox.

  148. Dan Jones April 28, 2010 at 3:51 am #

Reach looks like it has everything Halo has been missing since Combat Evolved.

  149. Thomas April 28, 2010 at 3:52 am #

Halo is my favorite game franchise. Ive played it ever since halo 1 was released. Ive also started to make machinima with halo and gotten a machinima.com partnership. And halo reach just looks like a lot of fun.

  150. Csator April 28, 2010 at 3:53 am #

Look at how many can say the game is great because it is really true. Halo is my favorite game ever since I played it.

  151. Daniel Mend April 28, 2010 at 3:56 am #

This is looking like the best Halo ever, i cant wait!!

  152. Anderson April 28, 2010 at 3:59 am #

ok so master chife is back but what about the elites there new weapons look awesome and so many new/old guns will be underated “oh that gun looks stupid well stupid my @$$ call of Duty ur @$$ will be wiped with this game garinted

  153. zach April 28, 2010 at 4:01 am #

    halo reach = Amazing:)

  154. Miqualke April 28, 2010 at 4:16 am #

Halo Reach seems really interesting; I’m really anticipating the new graphics engine and hoping to get some jetpack action !

  155. Negimas April 28, 2010 at 4:22 am #

Halo: Reach looks like an exciting game, and the maps look 10x more massive, don’t they? I remember when I use to play Halo: Combat Evolved, and back then I thought they were high graphics.

  156. SuperSpartan April 28, 2010 at 4:39 am #

    Generator Defense looks sweet!

  157. S.Denver April 28, 2010 at 4:39 am #

H)oping that the game is as good as it is portrayed.
A)nticipating the new weapons: ex. DMR and Focus rifle.
L)iking how the graphics are way better.
O)bssessing over leaked gameplay and trailers.

R)eady to start playing and try out all the features
E)njoying the fact that the Pre-Beta is on my birthday 🙂
A)ngry that the controls are different from Halo 3.
C)rossing my fingers that you will choose me.
H)ope to see you in the Pre-Beta or regular!

    Haha writing this was fun!

  158. Phillipe Newman April 28, 2010 at 4:56 am #

Halo Reach will blow away Modern Warfare 2,,, Infinity Ward wont know what hit em!

  159. Codeman54321 April 28, 2010 at 4:57 am #

I like how they basically redid their whole matchmaking system and how the graphics look the best I have seen in any other game. Almost every Halo game that Bungie puts out is revolutionary in the world of games, I just hope Reach will be the same.

  160. Chewy April 28, 2010 at 5:08 am #

What is so great about Halo? There are alot better games out there, with better stories, better graphic, sounds, visuals etc etc. I’ve never understood the draw to Halo. I’ve played 2 and 3, and nothing in the single players modes inpressed me above anything I’ve played before. Single player/story wise, Halflife and now Gears of War are 10 times better. The one and only thing Halo has, is a Very Good MP experince – but even that lack’s real depth, hardly any skill (point and aim assist helps you, pull trigger, throw nades, jump – you could almost get by using 1 thumb stick! MLG, oh please!) Don’t get me wrong it’s MP is a smooth as you’ll get, Forge is good and being able to record ever game you play is amazing, but after the that what else is there? Halo 3 graphic’s where something that could be done better on a Wii. It’s basically shooting pixels in the distance. Halo reach looks like a polished Red Faction, but again it’s not bringing anything new to the gaming world.

  161. Greg April 28, 2010 at 5:13 am #

Bungie giving everything they have to make one last, trully great halo game. If this game is half as good as the hype than it is going to be super awesome!

  162. Sowerz April 28, 2010 at 5:13 am #

Halo: Reach is sure to be a huge success, but I am really looking forward to what it can bring for those MLG (Major League Gaming) players out there. I am really looking forward to the DMR and new loadouts, as it will help spice the competitive side to this game, and hopefully help esports on consoles grow even more. Reach is sure to blow the console competitive scene of the scales, so I hope I can get that extra edge with an early start. 😉 GL all..

  163. Will April 28, 2010 at 5:14 am #

This game will absolutley destroy MW2 due to its great matchmaking and amazing story line

  164. Zach April 28, 2010 at 5:16 am #

Halo Reach looks like the best halo experience to date! Guess we’ll all find out on May 3rd.

  165. Derek Kreider April 28, 2010 at 5:17 am #

I’ve been a fan of Halo since it first came out. I love how Bungie addresses each issue for the next game, and adds a lot of cool new things. I love how Halo is a three year game. I played Halo 2 for three years, Halo 3 for three years, and I’m looking forward to the longevity of Halo Reach, thanks to the hard work by Bungie.

  166. keewe April 28, 2010 at 5:19 am #

really looking forward to reach. on the left hand site, i hope the “fun aspect” (just messing around, dont care ’bout stats and so on…) returns with halo reach, on the right hand site, i hope mlg also gets a own playlist.
but for the beta, i just wanna have fun and messing around with some friends.

  167. starscreme April 28, 2010 at 5:27 am #

Halo Reach is going to be game of the year, for sure.

Bungie can only get better and better in what they do.

    I. CANNOT. WAIT!

  168. James April 28, 2010 at 5:30 am #

Hey it would be great to be one of the first people to play this game. I haven’t been as excited about a Halo game since 2. Please hook me up, it would rule.

  169. dru biggerstaff April 28, 2010 at 5:31 am #

I cant wait to see this revamped halo… seems like a strong effort to overtake the fps game genre again like it should. Its gonna be awesome!

  170. Joesph April 28, 2010 at 5:31 am #

Reach is looking to be as epic as the first game. I can’t wait for it to come out.

  171. Romond April 28, 2010 at 5:33 am #

I need this code. Seriously. I have entered every single one of those early access code contests and already lost 1. After entering 18 contests(including this one) If i cant win any of them I will be seriously depressed.

  172. TimP April 28, 2010 at 5:34 am #

The previews look awesome. I have been always anticipated each of the Halo Series, this will certainly be the best of the multiplayer aspect.

  173. Andres April 28, 2010 at 5:37 am #

I am really excited for this game! There will finally be diffrent armours so everyone wont look all the same. Also there will be diffrent abilites so everyone wont be just assault rifle or bmr it will be COOL. I have one thing holding me back though. I was watching a video on halo waypoint and it looks like elites can have jetpacks and lockdown too! I think thats unfair! But anyway I am going to buy this game no matter what and i am pre ordering my legendary editon on firday. So see u guys on the battlefield and get ready to get teabagged.

  174. Ben P April 28, 2010 at 5:43 am #

This is going to be the biggest game of 2010. Bungie have led the way in First Person Shooters for nearly a decade and looking at the early reviews and videos, this looks set to continue for at least another few years.

    Can’t wait for jet packs!

  175. Bobby April 28, 2010 at 5:45 am #

Have been playing Halo since the release of Halo CE, but I can honestly say that Reach is the most exciting game to date. Bungie have had a far bigger work force with which to produce the game and seem confident that it will be amazing.

  176. SharkOon 7 April 28, 2010 at 5:49 am #

Halo Reach is going to be the best game ever made in gaming history. Don’t have proof for that but the early acess might be one ;). I want to use this opportunity to play with the Bungie Team (They re playing on Thurstday evening). Good Luck everybody 😉

  177. John April 28, 2010 at 5:57 am #

Reach is the pinnacle of modern day video gaming, who wouldn’t want to get into the beta or get the game early. Bungie has taken some concepts that are seen in the Modern Warfare games and still kept it a Halo game. The new graphics and features are going to be amazing, and if firefight and forge are in it… the Halo Reach will do twice as well than Halo 3.

  178. oG 4 ShoTz April 28, 2010 at 6:03 am #

Halo Reach is far above my initial expectations after review of all the previews being released. This Game will destroy MW2 and all other fps games on any console this is a must have, must play game and I’m sure multiplayer will be going strong for years and years to come. I believe it is safe to say that bungie has outdone themselves…yes I know it dosn’t seem possible but yet It has been done. I CANT WAIT TO PLAY (but it looks like I have to 🙁 lol) Reach will be a milestone in history that shows when the future of gaming was brought to life.

  179. Jonathan April 28, 2010 at 6:04 am #

Halo: Reach is shaping up to be the definitive Halo experience. I’m looking forward to the new throwback pistol. I have found memories of Halo: CE multiplayer parties. 🙂

  180. Andrew April 28, 2010 at 6:06 am #

Anxiously awaiting the best multiplayer experience to date!

  181. Steve April 28, 2010 at 6:08 am #

Reach is looking like it will reclaim the crown from MW2(With the beta maybe?) and reclaim the glory of Halo’s old days. The new additions of AA and S vs E is a brilliant move on Bungie’s part instead of trying to make the hit boxes similer. Only competition so far for GOTY is Mass Effect 2 but in all i believe Reach will pull it off.
    I can haz beta key?

  182. Stewart April 28, 2010 at 6:09 am #

I’m a huge Halo fan, played all the games, read all the novels, and short stories…Reach is my game of the year no doubt.

An early access code would be sweet!

  183. franklymydear April 28, 2010 at 6:10 am #

I’m looking forward to the improved matchmaking system. More options so maybe matches will be more even. Also the new ranking system looks sweet.

  184. Alex April 28, 2010 at 6:10 am #

Though I’ve had lots of fun with Halo in the past, I’ve been soured by my experience with buying the Legendary edition Halo 3, and will be relying on my beta experience to determine whether I buy this or borrow it from a friend.

  185. stiffneck April 28, 2010 at 6:12 am #

Just give me a sniper rifle and watch my rank rise. Woohoo!!!

  186. Nick Page April 28, 2010 at 6:13 am #

I’d totally like to get into the beta early, or I’ll die a painful death ):

  187. CrunchbiteNuva April 28, 2010 at 6:15 am #

ALso looking forward to the new matchmaking. I mean. in Halo 3, it’s like once you reach General, what else is there?

  188. Josh April 28, 2010 at 6:16 am #

I am looking forward to trying the beta, it looks like a lot of changes have been made. I think it will be interesting to see how the differences between the spartans and covenant will be received by fans, as well as the different armor abilities. I also think some of the new game modes such as invasion and headhunter will bring something fresh to the series. Can’t wait to try it out!

  189. chris April 28, 2010 at 6:17 am #

Little scared of Reach at first, but I am starting to turn.

  190. Nathaniel April 28, 2010 at 6:18 am #

Halo: Reach has big boots to fill. It has the hopes and expectations of many Halo fans riding on its shoulder, as well as the fact that it has to deal with many people who hate and bicker about Halo games and complain about the franchise in general. All I can say for sure, is that my heart goes pitter-patter at the thought of playing Reach.

  191. Jason April 28, 2010 at 6:20 am #

One thing about Reach that has really struck me since the videos starting pouring onto the internet was the sound design. It’s a massive step forward from the series. Everything from the weapons to the explosions just sound so much more intense.

  192. beans April 28, 2010 at 6:23 am #

Reach is looking pretty sweet- although I’ll miss playing as an elite exclusively. Can’t wait to try out the new needle rifle and the focus rifle!!

  193. TvvivvT April 28, 2010 at 6:23 am #

Im a HUGE halo fan. It would mean the world to me to get picked for the early beta. Reach is looking better then ever. At first I was a little put off on the thought of “class-based” combat. But after seeing some full gameplay vids most of my worries have been put to rest. Kudos to bungie and See everyone in the beta =)

  194. marcel April 28, 2010 at 6:23 am #

I cant wait for Halo Reach. I read Fall of Reach and it was just awesome. I got really excited when they announced Halo Reach.

  195. Leonius7 April 28, 2010 at 6:23 am #

I am really looking forward to invasion. I have always preferred big team battle in Halo 3 and invasion seems the natural evolution of that style of gametype. I have been praying for the DMR since Halo 1 really – “Just re-skin the pistol into an assault rifle so it doesn’t seem so retarded to snipe with”, and even though it is weaker than the pistol of yore, I look forward to it.

  196. James2066 April 28, 2010 at 6:24 am #

I’d like to play the beta on Thurday, because I wasn’t aloud to take my vacation next week. So I could play the entire week. But if I couldnt. So I took my vacation this week. It would be amazing if I could end my week with kicking ass.. Also I do a Podcast 26thhour.com and I could totally talk about it on the show friday. love the podcast bungie!

  197. narff117 April 28, 2010 at 6:27 am #

Reach does look very exciting. I can’t wait for the Beta and flying in Jetpacks

  198. TheEldestGrim April 28, 2010 at 6:27 am #

I absolutely cannot wait for Reach. I can’t wait to see with a basically “clean slate” story opportunity. The amount of sweet little easter eggs and information from the extended universe is also something that I am going to be looking forward a lot.

Thanks for the chance, and good luck everyone!

  199. Ben April 28, 2010 at 6:29 am #

Whats better than having ODST and Reach Beta on May 3rd? Having Reach Beta 3 days earlier!

  200. Patrick April 28, 2010 at 6:29 am #

I’m really looking forward to using the new plasma launcher 😉

  201. Rojhat April 28, 2010 at 6:32 am #

I think that Halo Reach just rocks! Cannot wait when I can play the game =D

  202. MadEnvoy April 28, 2010 at 6:33 am #

Halo in all of its forms is good story telling. Halo has single-handedly brought classic military sci-fi into the mainstream through a medium that all can enjoy. Halo: Reach promises to continue opening up the Halo Universe for us to explore and should be able to fill in some of the gaps left about the Covenant and Spartans.

Please see this post as a request for an early access code to the Halo: Reach multiplayer so that the Halo story can begin unfolding early on my Xbox.

  203. Daniel Young April 28, 2010 at 6:34 am #

I’ve played every other halo game and I’m probably most excited about this one. Despite having fewer weapons, all the new ones looks really sick, mainly the dmr and needler rifle. The new armor customization look pretty cool with how much more in depth you can go customizing them, also its pretty sick that your get to carry over your noble six from campaign to matchmaking and vice versa. I’m excited for campaign and I hope they release more details on it.

  204. jayitospartan17 April 28, 2010 at 6:34 am #

i love halo in special halo 3 i have halo 3 odst in special edicion i will buy halo reach in legendary version and i want to plat the beta now

  205. Zelaxe April 28, 2010 at 6:34 am #

Halo: Reach builds on an already proven foundation, which is not only good – but the best there is on consoles, the addition of Armour Abilities adds a previously unattainable level of teamwork. The sound have been improved alot judging by released videos and gives a sense of war combined with the grittier graphics. In short: Halo: Reach may be _the best_ Halo game, and even console game ever created.

  206. broony April 28, 2010 at 6:36 am #

Super duper hyped for Reach. Can’t wait to play around with the new weapons and modes. Invasion looks superawesome.

  207. Andy Deck April 28, 2010 at 6:37 am #

    First and Foremost,

Halo is the best series ever. Each sequel, and now prequel, has gotten better and better. The prequel fixes and builds upon the last. If something didn’t quite work out, it’s re-worked, or removed, and new stuff is added to the next game. It’s great. It’s like watching real-time evolution of a video game. If only Bungie could make 3 more halo games, it would be abso-fricken-lutely, perfect!!!!! Thanks. Gamertag III CUJO III

  208. Owen April 28, 2010 at 6:37 am #

I have played Halo since Combat Evolved and it is the only game I love to play over and over again. With the new things Halo: Reach will have it can only drive me to play Halo more.

  209. Brandon April 28, 2010 at 6:37 am #

I’ve actually been quite bored of the Halo series after 3. Seemed rather, well, boring. So many other series have reinvigorated the FPS genre. BUT, Reach has turned out looking GREAT, and I can’t wait to spend some time air-tea-bagging some newbs 🙂

    REACH REACH REACH

  212. Noah April 28, 2010 at 6:39 am #

I cannot wait for Halo Reach. All of the new multiplayer game mechanics seem great. I’m excited for after the beta is done too because that is when Bungie is supposedly releasing new campaign information!

  213. Jason HaloFan April 28, 2010 at 6:39 am #

The Halo Reach Beta means a lot to me since I rushed out & Pre-ordered the Legendary Edition just for the flaming head – I hope the game lives up to its expectations.

In regards to the Beta, I can’t wait to get my dirty hands all over it…

  214. Daro April 28, 2010 at 6:39 am #

I think that the fact that bungie is making all this change to their epic halo franchise is a brave step indeed and I am really looking forward to how it will play out being a long term halo fan. People who look at COD and then Reach might think that halo is copying alot from reach but that is not a fair assumption seeing that COD has also taken quite a bit from halo such as the semtex grenades, and I’m sure they’ve taken more than just that, but hey taking from good games really cant do that much bad i mean COD is also great but I’m hoping Reach brings back the population we used to know…. All in all I am expecting alot from it.

  215. InfernokingS April 28, 2010 at 6:40 am #

My friend’s odst broke yesterday, so maybe if I win the code he gets it.
(we will have to see if I can control myself and not use it for myself:p)
anyway, waiting to see how much ass the beta is going to kick.

  216. Austen April 28, 2010 at 6:41 am #

I am really excited for Halo: Reach mostly because its going to be such a throwback to Halo: Combat Evolved. (One of my favorite games of all time) Plus its a new halo game for me to sink another 100+ hours into!

  217. robert luther April 28, 2010 at 6:41 am #

halo reach will be the ultimate halo game!

  218. url00 April 28, 2010 at 6:45 am #

Reach is going to be awesome.
    Bigger then Halo 3.
    Better then Halo 2.
And more awesome then Halo: Combat Evolved.

  219. Orange Chikin April 28, 2010 at 6:45 am #

I just can’t wait to try out the new weapons and the Spartans vs Elites gametypes. The AA’s seem like an added bonus to all of the other stuff.

  220. SaGA April 28, 2010 at 6:46 am #

Reach is halo and halo is halo, I just wanna play it.

Most likely it wont disappoint :p

  221. Chad April 28, 2010 at 6:48 am #

Reach is going to be the best Halo game ever! I’ve played every halo game to date and this looks to be the best one. Can’t wait to play. Can I haz Reach plz?

  222. Techchild April 28, 2010 at 6:48 am #

Well, Halo is a good game yes, but after the hype rush of halo2/3 this game needs to put a new twist into the campaign. Until I see for myself why this game is good, I won’t bother with the end product.

Initial information seems pretty positive that this could be a great leap forward in Halo Gaming.

  225. Rob April 28, 2010 at 6:52 am #

Halo is seriously the greatest game out there next to CoD, <— which I need to get away from for awhile…I hope Reach will be just as good as the rest!

  226. DiscipleN2k April 28, 2010 at 6:54 am #

I’m really looking forward to this one. I’ve loved every game in the series so far, and this one doesn’t look like it will disappoint. I’m a little iffy about how the jetpacks are going to change gameplay, but I’ve got my copy preordered just the same.

  227. Jase April 28, 2010 at 6:55 am #

Halo has been a friend to me ever since Halo 2 came out. I fell in love with the story and have been picking up the books and games on release days. Reach, I believe, may well be Bungie’s masterpiece in the Halo series. Sure there’s some things I’m worried over story wise but all in all the game looks gorgeous and the gameplay footage I’ve seen so far has assured me it’s going to be a blast to play. Reach will be the game of this year to beat, and no one is going to come close.

  228. Greg Hill April 28, 2010 at 6:55 am #

Played over 4600 games of halo 3. Need to play reach!

  229. Lekku April 28, 2010 at 6:55 am #

Everything I have seen from Reach looks awesome. From the new weapons to the armour abilities to the the new maps. Reach just looks like it is going to be the biggest and best Halo yet. So much has changed, but from everything I have seen still retains that Halo feel.

  230. daFthawk April 28, 2010 at 6:55 am #

So it seems like this is the part when everyone says how AWESOME Reach is gonna be. Well, I still am afraid I do not share that same blind enthusiasm. I’ve been watching every video released on the web so far and at first I was very skeptical of the game. I see Halo 3 as one of the most perfectly crafted and perfectly balanced games of all time. Will Reach be the same way? With different loadouts and armor abilities i fear my great game turning into a more COD affair, where players are only better than other players because they start with better weapons then them. Hopefully, I will be wrong with these thoughts, and hopefully they will find away to balance things like starting with a grenade launcher or a jetpack. There is only one way to tell at the moment,

and thats by playing the beta…

  231. xboxcrazy33 April 28, 2010 at 6:56 am #

I’m loving all the new stuff in Halo: Reach! Especially armor abilities! I think it should be the best Halo yet!

  232. Lord of Aussies April 28, 2010 at 6:58 am #

I think Halo Reach is going to be an excelent finnish to the halo series by bungie don’t know what 343 industries games will be like but bungie’s games are exelent and Reach’s jetpacks are awesome!

  233. Jolley34 April 28, 2010 at 7:00 am #

Hello im a guy from Sweden, so… the first thing im going to tell you is sorry for my English but alright! 🙂

I have play Halo since 2001 when the first Halo CE released and I LOVE the series! Im a huge fan!, Bungie has always making good games and they got a great community…
Halo 3 was SICK and endless of fun! then I thought Hmm, can anybody make anything better then this game? Actually I think (know) they have done that, All the new Reach videos look so amazing and alot of kickass!
I think the new Load-out system and all the new weapons going to be amazing!
Wait… everything is going to be amazing in Halo Reach.
Halo Reach going to beat everything! ITS GOING TO BE BEST! I cant wait to play it and It would be so freakin cool to play it 5 days before everybody else!
Thank you Technologizer to give me a chance to win this and thanks Bungie to making this magic game!

    Peace, Jolley34

  234. Dalton Rose April 28, 2010 at 7:00 am #

I think Halo: Reach looks impressive from both a casual and competitive side.

  235. Alex April 28, 2010 at 7:01 am #

At first I was a bit on the fence about the game, but now, I am brimming with excitement knowing that the Reach beta is just around the corner. I cannot wait to check out the new weapons, the new game types, and of course, the new armor abilities.

  236. Andy April 28, 2010 at 7:02 am #

I’ve loved jetpacks in games since GTA:San Andreas, so I can’t wait to play with the jetpack loadout in Reach.

  237. TravisSch April 28, 2010 at 7:03 am #

I’m excited for the Halo: Reach campaign, though I won’t get to play it till this Fall. While we know what will be happening to Reach in the end, I want to learn about the events that lead to the planet’s demise. Also, I am excited for the multiplayer beta. The plasma repeater looks like an awesome lock-on weapon. I also like the Invasion mode and I can’t wait to try that out. Playing as Spartans and Elites will be fun as well. I can’t wait to play the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta! 🙂

  238. bluedingo5 April 28, 2010 at 7:04 am #

My thoughts on Halo Reach? Bungie have finally made the true spiritual successor to Combat Evolved.

Everything that worked in CE, they have now adapted for Reach. That is what truly excites more than any other Halo game previously released.

Other than that, Bungie have also looked at other FPS’s and examined what worked in those games, and have managed to adapt them into Reach, changing the gameplay but in a good way.

In my opinion? All Reach has to do is have a kickass storyline, and it could be as great as Combat Evolved.

  239. delta reg April 28, 2010 at 7:04 am #

    Halo Reach, it’s super awesome!

  240. LtSkitzo April 28, 2010 at 7:04 am #

beta free code? im game, balancing uni work and halo…..easy ;P

  241. Stuntmutt April 28, 2010 at 7:05 am #

You’ve got to love a franchise that looks backwards to go forwards.

  242. Alex April 28, 2010 at 7:05 am #

For me, Halo: Reach offers a whole new perspective on the halo series with the new concept of armour abilities, that allow the gameplay of halo to be more fluent yet diverse and faster paced. The inclusion of new game modes of Headhunter and Invasion add a original, new while also fun experience to the series and with the design of no dual wielding and that each weapon having their own unique roles to create a feel that every weapon (and vehivle too) has a special purpose in the game. Halo: Reach allows the series to reboot yet grow from its vast experience from its past games to turn a FPS into a piece of art and Bungie’s masterpiece. Heres hoping the best for all and Early beta key FTW!

  243. James2066 April 28, 2010 at 7:06 am #

I have been playing halo for 9 years. I had all my friends buy halo 1. we would host lan-parties, I love Halo. I have been sending out texts almost every night saying “Play-Lo?” meaning ‘Play halo?’.I am the biggest halo fan in the world and Reach looks like the best game in the world. I cannot wait to use the Jetpacks, new weapons, new armor etc.. I’m looking forward to monday.. my girlfriends gonna be so mad at me, for all the time i’m going to spend playing lol.. Thanks Bungie.

  244. Mr Schultz April 28, 2010 at 7:07 am #

Halo REACH looks to take the best of all Halo mp games, wrapped into one.
And now with tiered objective-based gameplay, which I’ve always wanted for the series since playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein on XBL.
The Beta – it’s super awesome.

  245. thomas April 28, 2010 at 7:10 am #

Halo: reach feels like the next evolutionary step forward for the francise while reflecting back on the successes of each halo game and implementing them in on way or another.. all you need to know is reach, reach, reach!

  246. LtSkitzo April 28, 2010 at 7:10 am #

To be honest, bungie have done something terrible…but in a awsome kind of way. Just think how many people have had days off from school/ work because of the halo game series. I mean i know i have, and this will be no exception. Halo reach is the diffinitive Halo title. Nothing will compare to it’s online play, just like its predicessors. It will grab the online community like a fat kid grabs cakes, and not let go 🙂 but hey, if im a cake and halo is a fat kid…..Eat me!

  247. Tim April 28, 2010 at 7:12 am #

Hello my thoughts on halo reach are that it is going to be epic everything that the devs. are doing is awsome they are balancing out the game very well plus i like whats going on with the new controls such as the bumpers on the controller now control the melee and armor abilities i think its going to be a fun and entertaining game

  248. CrazedOne1988 April 28, 2010 at 7:12 am #

Reach just seems like the next big step for halo. Each 3-year title has had major improvements to the franchise, from duel wielding to equipment to armor abilities (and dont forget BXR ). I’d have to say I am looking forward to what awaits us in forge this time around. Halo 3 brought us endless impossibilities with forge, people creating things bungie never even dreamed of when they came up with the concept of forge. Now with a better understanding of what forge is capable of, there’s no telling what we may be able to do.
Early beta key plz and thank you

  249. bwwardiii April 28, 2010 at 7:12 am #

Halo Reach looks poised to set a major precedent for any future Halo games and will likely be one of the longest running online multiplayer experiences on a console ever. Sure the Multiplayer is going to be awesome but the campaign will likely blow my mind.

  250. Myyke April 28, 2010 at 7:13 am #

Can’t wait for Halo Reach! ODST gave a great taster of how a “darker” Halo story could work and I think Reach will expand on this even more with its gritty story and visuals. We may know how it ends, but god am I going to have some fun getting there!

  251. Will Wild April 28, 2010 at 7:14 am #

I’m praying Reach is nothing like Halo 3. I don’t think they readjusted the control/movement abilities at all but I’m still hopeful. Bungie should’ve just kept the movement from Halo 2, as it was perfect.

  252. David April 28, 2010 at 7:14 am #

I honestly can not wait for reach. It really looks like it’s an amazing balance between gameplay styles from both H1 and H2. They seemed to bring a lot of what worked in those games back. Love the two new game types headhunters and stockpile. I think stockpile could really end up being a very good competitive game type.

  253. Jester 343 April 28, 2010 at 7:14 am #

Reach is gonna be epic! I can’t wait to rain death from above with a Rocket launcher and Jet pack!

  254. Shotgunchief April 28, 2010 at 7:14 am #

I’m looking forward to Reach a lot, just because it’s the Halo game I’ve been looking for, and it’s fresh. Watching the gameplay videos, we have weapons we’ve known since we picked ’em up in Halo 1 (with some tweaks, obviously) and weapons that are completely new. New and old gametypes and new maps as well.

Bungie is also going above and beyond with the matchmaking system again, which other game companies will most likely imitate like they did with Halo 2’s party system. It’s going to amazing, I’m completely looking forward to it.

  255. TheDarkLight April 28, 2010 at 7:19 am #

One word… GOTY!?! (Game of the Year)

  256. geekinabox April 28, 2010 at 7:22 am #

Simply put: Halo=fun. That’s been the classic formula, and I think Reach is going to take that to a new level. Bungie is a master of mayhem. Can. Not. Wait.

  257. Steve April 28, 2010 at 7:22 am #

I fell in love with the Halo series the moment I booted up Halo: Combat Evolved for the first time in 2001. Its campaign was the best I’d ever played, and its multiplayer was unmatched. In 2004, I was busting out of my skin in exitement as I drove home on November 9th with my limited edition of Halo 2. That game was and still is my favorite multiplayer game (sorry Halo 3!) Since then, I have followed the games religiously. I beat the campaigns of both Halo 3 and Halo: ODST in one night, and worked hard to achieve a level 50 in Halo 3’s multiplayer. I have read the books, read the comics, played everything Halo including Halo Wars, and watched Halo Legends. I would absolutely love to get an early invitation to the Reach Beta, because I am absolutely dying to see how the game’s multiplayer gameplay has evolved again since Halo 3. To me, the gameplay looks more in the style of Halo 1 and Halo 2, and I can’t wait to see just how well Bungie has done in refining the overall experience.

I’d also like an early beta code because I plan to become a game developer myself one day (probably a 3D evironmental artist). Halo is what inspired me to choose this career path, and is without a doubt what got me to play FPS games. I figure that with such a low player count on the days before May 3, I’d have a much better chance at matching up with a Bungie game developer, so that I could ask them questions about the game development process.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. My fingers are crossed!

    Stevie C.

  258. Akskiller April 28, 2010 at 7:22 am #

I would like a early Halo Reach beta code because I have been a fan of halo since Halo Combat Evolved. MY favorite halo game is Halo CE. From what I saw on Halo Reach it has most of the old elements from my favorite halo game(Halo CE). Halo Reach looks like I will have some nostalgic moments and cannot wait to play it. Thanks for the opportunity to play the beta early!

  259. A Meier April 28, 2010 at 7:23 am #

Halo Reach looks amazing. The new gametypes and the new weapons are awesome, but what really looks cool are the sweet loadouts. One word: JETPACKS!

  260. Andrew April 28, 2010 at 7:23 am #

I am really looking forward to Halo Reach because it is just building off the success that Halo 3 had. I think it will be a great game because bungie really knows how to make a FPS.

  261. Jansen April 28, 2010 at 7:24 am #

Huge fan of the Halo series. I have all 5 games. Halo Reach is looking like it’ll be Bungie’s best of the series, especially if the campaign is following in the same vein of the multiplayer. I can’t wait for the beta to come out. Next two/four weeks, my nights are booked!

  262. Mike Gibbs April 28, 2010 at 7:24 am #

Halo Reach is more of hybrid than a sequel, taking the best parts of the shooting genre today, refining them for fairness and fun then putting them together with halos classic feel and mechanics into one awe some package
    example
    rolling/diving
    from gears
elite only, adds to the “aghhh a huge alien monster” the elites had in halo CE

    loadouts
    most realistic shooters + cod
refined to be set by gametype so bungie control the pace of the game and can address balance issues, also alla shadowrun give the loosing team a boost for a “photo finish”

    pro pipe/n00b tube
    nuff said

    customisation and constant character
customisation has always been around in cod and many other shooters, bungie has refined the idea to aesthetic upgrades only, keeping halos “skill wins matches, not unlocks” mentallity

    challenges for EXP
    cod
new weekly and campaign challenges add to the incentive of story replayability and stimulate the community to unite, it gives a group of friends something new to attempt week on week and alone

    rush from battlefield
    squad mechanics GRAW?
    armour abilities = perks
there are many more examples but rather than many people assuming this is a bad thing bungie have proven their ability to make original content and therefore I like to think that their aim here was to make the DEFFINITIVE halo experience, to make the game as good as humanly possible, a little help along the way is a good thing

    in summary
    give
    me
    it
    nowzzz

  263. Jim April 28, 2010 at 7:25 am #

Need some loving? Reach has got it covered.
Ever had the urge to makeshift a pair of wings and jump off your house roof.. well dont worry you poor sap, reach can do the job without the serious bodily harm that would result if you actually attempted it through Armour Abilities. Ever dreamt of being an assassin but dont have the underworld connections or the ability to do backflips? well dont worry Halo: Reach has got you covered with new game modes like Headhunter and Invasion to keep you blood hungry assassin qarm at night.. Ever thought “why are there thousands of brands for one type of item!”.. Well Bungie have beaten you to the punchline again and have removed dual wielding and made each weapon at home in someway or another on that deadly battlefield!. Halo: Reach, its made from the super awesome halo series you love with a mix of new and old to make a ‘Masterpiece’ that will reach beyond your expectations!

  264. Jeff April 28, 2010 at 7:25 am #

Halo Reach will be the best game in the series! I can’t wait to pwn people with all the new weapons and abilities!!! Hope i WIN!

  265. Dezzy April 28, 2010 at 7:26 am #

I think Halo Reach will be awesome because Bungie made it and they’re awesome!

  266. Eric Meadows April 28, 2010 at 7:27 am #

It looks very exciting…almost reminiscent of the days when we would paack 16-20 guys in one room and play Halo: CE for 14+ hours! I cannot wait for the return of the pistol and the new DMR…they are going to be ridiculous!!!

  267. Ronnie April 28, 2010 at 7:28 am #

Well let’s see…. Halo is the best series to ever grace the planet earth so why wouldn’t Reach be awesome? They gotz da new weaponz and mapz and abilitiez. I think it will be the best game I have ever played because I will get the beta early:)

  268. UltimateKnowledge April 28, 2010 at 7:28 am #

Reach evokes a strange mix of the feel of Halo 3, Halo: Combat Evolved and a an entirely new game in itself with the game changing armour abilities. In a general sense, the changes across the board sound promising; a game that does what has drawn in new and old Halo fans for years, but refines, improves upon and adds interesting new elements.

Not without concerns however: is armour lock overpowered? Is the assault rifle cool now? Do Elites just massively overpower spartans? Is the jet-pack a griefers dream?

Thats why theres the Beta! And everyone needs to slam it as hard as they can and break it in every way. So it can be peiced back together beautifuly for the release.

  269. George April 28, 2010 at 7:29 am #

Halo: Reach is da bomb with the headhunting and the flying.. its super awesome! to sprint while holding sharp swords and to turn to stone with a click of a button. oh sweet beta when will you be my sweet maiden!

  270. Stiffy April 28, 2010 at 7:29 am #

Reach seems like bungie went back to their roots. The best thing about this game and the thing that I am looking forward to the most will be the pistol. I hope it rocks like it did in halo 1.

  271. Dave April 28, 2010 at 7:30 am #

So Halo 3 sucked, a lot. I dont care what anyone says, it was not fun. But Halo Reach looks sweet, the different gametypes and what not, it actually looks like there is some effort going into the creation of this games. Teamwork based Halo games? It’s such an odd concept, but it sounds so fun. So come on, let me get in that beta, and I promise, for as long as I play that beta, I will never stop loving you.

  272. Matt April 28, 2010 at 7:32 am #

Halo Reach looks like it will be one of the greatest games ever to be released, the finishing part to the best game series

  273. TankorSmash April 28, 2010 at 7:32 am #

250+ comments? I like my chances.

Anyways, I’ve only recently heard of this site, but it seems pretty neat.

  274. 2900d4u April 28, 2010 at 7:33 am #

I think halo reach is the most awesome legendary phenominal gaming experience ever. Words cannot describe it’s greatness.

  275. El_Zoid0 April 28, 2010 at 7:35 am #

This game looks superb and I can’t wait to get started with the Beta. It’s going to be a long wait until Fall though!

  276. epocson April 28, 2010 at 7:36 am #

Bringing at back to classic Halo again baby. After being very disappointed in Halo 3’s failed hit detection, I can’t wait to see competitive gaming make a come back with a new revamped system.

These are my 3 favorite things they brought back to the franchise that have been missing since the launch of the original masterpiece…

    1. The Pistol – I think I have dreams about this sweet beast at night.
    2. Fall damage – I still press crouch before hitting the ground in H2/H3.
    3. Med Pack – Boooooooooooshhhhh!

Can’t wait for the drop of the Beta

  277. Robby April 28, 2010 at 7:38 am #

This is gonna be cake times 1000. I love Halo so much and finally a game that will pull my team back from the clutches of Modern Warfare 2

  278. Terrysythe April 28, 2010 at 7:40 am #

Im going to keep it simple, I havnt stopped thinking about this game since january end my pain.

  279. David April 28, 2010 at 7:40 am #

I have been following Halo since the early days of Halo CE. I got Halo 2 the day it came out and I stood in line to get Halo 3. Halo has been a huge part of my youth and with the ending of the Halo seires with Reach it makes the perfect ending of my grade school years. I am more than excited for the Reach Beta. I played in the F&F for Halo 3 and it was one of the best game experiences ever and I would love to have this experience again. I cant wait to see the new things Bungie has in store for this game and for us fans.

  280. Rob Puleo April 28, 2010 at 7:40 am #

Not getting into the Halo Reach beta early is going let my sister win a bet letting her dress me up like a little school girl wearing a mini skirt, pony tails, and eye shadow walking around the mall. Please don’t let her win!

  281. Jeremy Keith April 28, 2010 at 7:41 am #

HEYYY!!!!!!, I am a long time Halo player. Have over 15,000 games played between 5 accounts. Also have a 5 star geneeral. Would love to take part in the early beta, as I also have odst as well. Would love to see what you guys will do with your keys.

  282. Silva Snipa April 28, 2010 at 7:42 am #

I’m a halo veteran, but this one looks really different in a lot of ways I’m particularly looking forward to the Arena which conceptually is what I’ve been waiting for since halo2 and it will be cool seeing how Armor Abilities play out. Good luck on those beta codes everyone!

  283. Chrome April 28, 2010 at 7:42 am #

Holy crap 274 comments, those are some slim chances of winning.

  284. Matthew April 28, 2010 at 7:42 am #

Halo: Reach looks to be a true sequel (or prequel) to the Halo franchise. Just enough old school for those who already love Halo’s gameplay, and just enough new to entice those on the other side of the fence. The fact that it combines some aspects of Halo’s most popular competitors (Battlefield and Call of Duty) should alone be enough for most people. While it may not look as good as other shooters on consoles, it only goes to show that people can look past graphics and jaggies if the gameplay is good enough. And Reach is good enough.

  285. len64 April 28, 2010 at 7:44 am #

i cant wait to play the beta looks awsome

  286. Matt April 28, 2010 at 7:44 am #

This game is going to be legendary. I need a code !!!!

  287. Tristan April 28, 2010 at 7:46 am #

I think it will generally be loved by all die hard halo fans. What the Bungie team explained in their Vidocs is exactly right, they want to create a new game with the halo title, without rubbing anyone the wrong way. Halo has always been an amazing game, it was the first of it’s kind and it got millions hooked. The new load-out system will be awesome! Not everyone wants to start out with the same weapons and abilities, I think Bungie has another huge success on their hands. Bungie rocks!!

    P.s. Bring it ThePimpOfSound,

    -Tman374

  288. Cody April 28, 2010 at 7:46 am #

I think reach is awesome! Can’t wait.

  289. Justin Beigh April 28, 2010 at 7:47 am #

I would love to play Reach. I have played all Halo games and I thought that Reach will be really better than all Halo games. I expect a better storyline but my real biggest concern is the gameplay. I am expecting it to be better in controller layout almost similar to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 but who knows. Im sure that Bungie will keep the layout same with Halo 3. I really cant wait to play Halo Reach. Im looking forward to playing the Beta if I can win it because If I dont, ill just have to go to Walmart and download the beta after I buy ODST.

  290. Richard Parsons April 28, 2010 at 7:47 am #

Halo Reach. The definitive halo title? or is it ruining the franchise?
    It’s not ruined.

these questions were answered as soon as i saw footage of the game, it is the definitive halo title. No doubt about it.

This game is riduculous, actually ridiculous. Everything they’ve changed works. Everything can be countered. I know that this game is already Game of the Year, Bungie will not fail what their calling the definitive halo title.

And as they said the BETTER player will come out on top in a mid-game one vs. one. It still is Halo, you cannot deny that.

IT IS GOING TO BE INSANE! Dear God, it would be so bless of you to hook me this beta code!

  291. Tom P April 28, 2010 at 7:48 am #

Although my chances of winning are slim, I’ll give it a shot. Why do I want early access to the Reach beta? Because, really, who wouldn’t? The game looks amazingly awesome, I can’t wait until the 3rd, and, of course, the bragging rights.

  292. General Vaguneness April 28, 2010 at 7:48 am #

Despite what some detractors are saying I’m really looking forward to Reach (and not just for the jetpacks, sprinting, and things that go blam, although those always help). Here’s to having some fun.

  293. Matt [FireDragon04] April 28, 2010 at 7:49 am #

Halo reach is awesome, can’t wait to go in a kick some ass in the awesome new multiplayer and invest hundreds of hours, just like every other game in the series.

  294. Luis Tello April 28, 2010 at 7:49 am #

Halo: Reach looks magnificent, the world looks incredible and every thing looks so much more detailed. Armor abilities look fun to use, i can’t wait to use the new weapons. Im looking foward to seeing what else they announce on E3 and the coming months.

  295. Donovan April 28, 2010 at 7:49 am #

Can’t wait to throw down in the Beta. Jetpacks, Needlers, Plasma Launchers, it’s like if you solidified awesomeness and forced it into a nice downloadable file 😛

  296. adam April 28, 2010 at 7:50 am #

halo reach will be game of the year!!!

  297. Peter April 28, 2010 at 7:50 am #

I think Halo Reach will be great and the campaign will be epic but I hope it does not copy MW2 a lot or not as many people will like halo reach. But overall I think its going to be an amazing game!

  298. EricS April 28, 2010 at 7:54 am #

Halo: Reach looks to be the Halo game that Ive been waiting for patiently since the release of Halo 2. I loved Halo 2 & 3, but the overall experience just didn’t match the first title in my opinion.

  299. phil April 28, 2010 at 7:54 am #

halo reach is gonna be the best halo game out there in fact i strongly believe its gonna be game of the year hands down awesome game and to think we will have to get used to the new control layout it will be fun cause once you master that then you will be a saavy kick ass machine love halo cant wait for the campaign

  300. Alex April 28, 2010 at 7:55 am #

Halo: Reach, and all of the products related to it, are a shining light in the video game industry. As Halo moves forward in time, it sets standards that many games can barely compete with. I remember the long days of winter of 2001 where I would sit and play Halo CE for hours on end. I remember the days waiting till the release of Halo 2 and the countless large LAN parties that would accompany it’s release later on. I remember standing outside in the front of the line waiting for Halo 3, and most recently Halo 3: ODST. I remember the joy that Halo has given me throughout the years, as I am sure most of you do as well.

Halo is, without a doubt, my all-time favorite video game series and Halo: Reach is bound to be the greatest thing since butter toast. Halo: Reach is bound to turn the Halo community upside in a very positive way. From the enhanced visuals and sandbox, to the improved matchmaking and the loadout system, Halo: Reach is bound to make gaming gold when it is released this November. Halo: Reach is one of my most looked forward to games ever and I literally can’t wait to get my hands on it and enjoy it with my buddies.

  301. Hob April 28, 2010 at 7:56 am #

I’m really excited for Reach mainly because of the new objective gametypes that they have created. I’ve always been a huge fan of objective gametypes and I am really looking forward to Stockpile, Headhunter, and the 2 that I’m most looking forward to is Invasion and Generator Defense!!! I’m really excited for the campaign even though they haven’t released like any details.

  302. Blue Ninja April 28, 2010 at 7:56 am #

What do I think of Reach? Simple, it’s more Halo. Halo’s always been special to me: from the alien vistas to the sweeping score that underlines every move you take. Multiplayer lets you stab an energy sword through a friend’s chest and brag about it, and Reach is trying to make that experience even more awesome. Can’t go wrong with that.

  303. Nick April 28, 2010 at 7:58 am #

Halo: Reach promises to be the next evolution of the Halo games, despite the fact that it takes place before all of them, save for Halo Wars. Luckily, the planet Reach developed some of the coolest toys for us to play around with.

  304. Sal April 28, 2010 at 7:59 am #

I can’t wait to try out armor abilities, I think it’s going to be a game changer for the Halo series and even the playing field a bit.

  305. Mark L. April 28, 2010 at 7:59 am #

Halo Reach will be the revival of Halo. If Halo 3 could be considered a relative let-down for the Halo franchise, than H:R will be the true Halo experience on the Xbox 360. Bungie knows what’s at stake, and they’re smart enough to capitalize on it. The game will cater to everybody, from the weekend warrior to the most hardcore players, all while maintaining an overall fun experience. As Bungie said, “This will be the definitive Halo game, made by the people who made Halo.”

  306. Angel April 28, 2010 at 8:01 am #

The game looks awesome ive seen all the coverage and i still want more.

  307. Oscar April 28, 2010 at 8:01 am #

With Reach it looks like bungie is trying to create someting new, but still have the old(and awesome) Halo Fealling left. It don’t have to be that realistic, it just have to be fun.
    Can’t wait to the beta!

  308. Paul April 28, 2010 at 8:02 am #

I’m really looking forward to Halo:Reach, and i’m very glad the bungie are running a beta. Not only because we get a chance to play the game months before the release date, but it also means that all the broken/overpowered features will be fixed.
Also, i can’t wait for the new maps and game types, and hopefully there will be some great custom games.

  309. Noelle April 28, 2010 at 8:02 am #

As a female player above 30, I’m more interested in the social features of Reach like “Active Roster” and matchmaking preferences, hoping they make it easier to get into games with friends and hear less abusive comments out there in the Xbox Live World.

  310. matt April 28, 2010 at 8:03 am #

please let me get it i like halo so much but i dont ave ODST so i want that beta bad

  311. Mike Carr April 28, 2010 at 8:03 am #

To me reach is going to be the best game ever on the xbox 360.

  312. CyReN April 28, 2010 at 8:03 am #

I think Reach is going to be Bungie best games, they seem to be bringing all the right elements from previous halo games to make the perfect online game. I see a lot of Halo CE in it, which was my favorite game in the series.

  313. Michael April 28, 2010 at 8:04 am #

Halo Reach sounds insane and crazy, this is Halo at it’s finest…the definition of Halo. This is what Halo is supposed to be.

    This is Halo Reach.

    And I CANNOT WAIT! 😀

    I need a vepon!

  314. Monkey D. Jesus April 28, 2010 at 8:05 am #

Halo Reach is going to be awesome ODST was pretty lame but the additions in reach seem really interesting. the includeing of the armor abilities like Jetpack and the shield/shockwave thing and the weapons set give the game a class based feel like Team fortress 2 and i love team fortress 2.

  315. Leland Dantzler April 28, 2010 at 8:05 am #

Honestly, Halo is the reason I ever started liking the XBOX. And now, many iterations later, it remains my favorite FPS and game series to date. From vehicles to the rule of three to the amazing scores, Halo will always be closest to my heart.

And Reach…Reach will reach even further into my love.

  316. peter April 28, 2010 at 8:05 am #

I love halo and will be looking forward to the beta!!!

  317. Gatchaman April 28, 2010 at 8:06 am #

Hey, it looks reaally fun! Everything seems positive at the moment (although I doubt Bungie/Microsoft would highlight any bad stuff!) =P
It looks like they are trying to ‘return to the feel of Halo:CE’ to appease long time fans (like me!) as well as bringing new ideas to the table (which is what I like best, if I wanted to play the original again, I could!).
Jetpacks/AAs in general seem fun, I’m glad that Bungie aren’t trying to make it a serious game in the wrong ways- Halo should be, and is, fun!

I still would like to give Halo: Chess a go, though..

  318. Crome April 28, 2010 at 8:08 am #

The most obvious thing to mention about reach is its new Loadouts element which is probably my favourite aspect that Halos been missing. Thats not to say that the old Halo games aren’t some of my all time favourites because they are but when I was switching over to my PC to play battlefield games I always wondered how Halo would work with a class system and now they’ve added.

People who’ve already played the beta say the new loadouts mix up the whole feel of the game without distancing it from the original Halo feel which I think means Bungie struck the perfect balance and I really just want to try it out for myself.

Also I’m a MASSSIVE fanboy of the series so GGIMME ITT!! It looks completely and totally made of solid win.

  319. Jack April 28, 2010 at 8:08 am #

I think Halo: Reach looks excellent. Redone engine (from the looks of it), and new gameplay twists are just what the Halo franchise needed. I’m really excited!

  320. robert rodriguez April 28, 2010 at 8:08 am #

Well my thoughts about halo reach are that the campaigh looks so epic can’t wait till the full game comes I’m gettinq the legendary edition.reach is going to sell the more copies then any other xbox game ever. And that the game is so awsome that nobody is hating on it specially cod fans. I would love to get my hands on the beta early because I’m such a big fan of halo I’ve played all halo games I love how they made reach feel like halo 1…I also don’t know how people compare halo to any other game halo so different to any game like in halo people don’t care about the graphics we just care about game play..even tho they took the (out halo still looks epic and I know not to expect everythinq on the beta on the full game and who knows what bungie might do for the full game.the health system is awsome no more can people just shoot you and and meele and kiil you that’s super awsome..armor abilities are a great responce to equipment..but anyways I really hope you choose me as one of the winners because I would really love to play halo reach early I’m such a fan I don’t even play cod cus is horrible HALO FTW! Plzz choose me

  321. CorporateKiller April 28, 2010 at 8:08 am #

Reach, the latest and purported last of the Halo franchise will once again set the bar for the quality of craftsmanship and gameplay that has determined the xbox live experience so far. Set before the events of Halo: Combat evolved, this story will see yet another group of heroes in the fight to save our species from extinction. This game serves as a culmination of everything that Bungie has learned about online gameplay and storytelling since their founding.
This game should set new video game sales records, helping to move video games further into the entertainment mainstream. None of this would be possible if Bungie weren’t creating games they want to play. Using the most talented game creators in the world, they take the monumental wishes of their fan base and make it a reality. “It would be awesome if the spartans had jetpacks.”
I’m excited to play the game this fall, and it will take up 95% of my entertainment time, but without a code, I will probably have to sit out the beta, as I have traded in my ODST game because it lacked the quality that I expected out of Bungie studios. My only hope lies with the prospect of securing a beta code from some people as kind as yourselves.
I’m a longtime fan of the franchise, having started my love of bungie with Pathways, and hosting LAN parties at my dorm for Multi Flag CTF on Blood Gulch in the keystone first game.

  322. Lopez April 28, 2010 at 8:08 am #

I’m a big fan of halo since the first one came out on xbox ! I just can’t wait until may third !!

  323. Zaam April 28, 2010 at 8:09 am #

I’m looking forward to Reach mostly for the shield-damage transport system – now, instead of pow pow smack leading to the kill, it will require pow pow smack pow.

  324. Link1201 April 28, 2010 at 8:12 am #

I love the series can’t wait to play the beta. Looking forward to the campaign as well. I am curious to where they’ll go with the story line.

  325. chris taylor April 28, 2010 at 8:13 am #

I’m super pumped for this game, it looks like it’s going to deliver the best multiplayer experience ever and the campaign is set to be awesome too.

  326. G. B. April 28, 2010 at 8:14 am #

Well to be honest I think halo:reach will be good because it’s a halo game. I have yet to play a bungie game I don’t enjoy and that is simply because Bungie know how to make a game enjoyable. Also the addition of Armor Abilities, Assassinations, new gametypes such as Headhunter and Invasion, more in-depth customisation, the Arena, new weapons, a new vetoing system and new ranking up system are all enough to get me to buy this game. And that is only the stuff in the beta. Imagine what will come in the full game, things like new vehicles, forge mode and stuff they haven’t even announced yet. In addition to this there is the campaign mode which looks to be the best yet and I’m basing only on a small amount of info. It makes me wander what Bungie has left up their sleeves but ultimately I’d pay 60$ just for the multiplayer.

  327. Lance April 28, 2010 at 8:14 am #

I am impressed with what I’ve seen of Halo Reach so far. It really stands out in comparison to the other halo games and yet still has the halo feel to it. I am impressed with including things like sprint, jet pack, controlled active camo. It’s really going to add a new dimension to the game. I am also glad it’s focused on multiplayer for the most part. This game is shaping up to be in my opinion one of the top games of the year.

  328. Garrett April 28, 2010 at 8:14 am #

I have always purchased halo games the day they come out, but reach is the first one that has me wondering… Campaign first or multiplayer?
Oh and just seeing the pistol in action in reach has me drooling already. See you guys on the battlefield.

  329. Chris April 28, 2010 at 8:16 am #

Halo is a truly amazing franchise i think bungie has put a lot of love and care in this current installment of halo. This is looking to be a truly innovative game and i cannot wait to experience it for myself heres hoping that i could get a beta key for this always a fan of the multiplayed since halo CE when me and my friends use to have lan parties playing good luck to everyone who tries to get a beta code as well

  330. ThouInFaith April 28, 2010 at 8:18 am #

I’ve liked, if not loved, all of the previous games. They’re making a lot of changes and additions so I’m curious as to what its like now.

  331. Stuntmank April 28, 2010 at 8:18 am #

This game is gonna be awesome!. The changes in this new chapter of the Halo saga fantastic!… can’t wait to play it! =p

  332. Juuso Haavisto April 28, 2010 at 8:19 am #

Halo Reach will be super awesome. By that I mean it will stay up for a really long time, because of many reasons and the always funny Guest online game feature. There also will be a lot of people playing it on competitive reasons. Ex. after 3 years, there are still plenty of people playing Halo 3, but in CoD4 there isnt. (at least so much) For Spartans the Reach is all misery, but for me its all of entertaining for a at least 3 years more.

  333. Colin April 28, 2010 at 8:20 am #

So far, it’s looking very promising. I’m very interested to see how the new features will affect the core experience of the game. I really do think that it will spice it up perfectly. I’m also quite interested to see first hand how the graphics have improved on this supped-up Halo 3 engine.

  334. Jacob April 28, 2010 at 8:20 am #

Being an avid Halo fan, I can’t tell you how excited I am.

  335. Bloody Peace April 28, 2010 at 8:20 am #

Halo: Reach will be the best game of the year and be the end for Modern Warefare 2. The new things like Loadouts, Veto 2.0, Spawningsystem are awesome.
    I Love It. ♥

  336. Tom Warz April 28, 2010 at 8:21 am #

I used to love playing halo 2 everyday , but halo 3 didnt really have the same feel , im hoping reach will rekindle my love for halo and so far it looks like it will. 😀

  337. Chris Dieleman April 28, 2010 at 8:22 am #

I recall when Halo 2 debuted @ E3 and the crowd cheered as Masterchief dual weilded for the first time. I now find it interesting how the removal of dual weilding makes some cheer. Does anyone even use dual weilding in Halo 3? I’m a bit nervous that some of these abilities (namely jetpack) will similarly be praised at first and everyone will use them and then result in worthlessness as you end up getting “picked” instantly. I am already reading on a lot of sites from editors that jetpacks are a deathwish… I already feel everyone will default to sprint if they are above 30 skill level.
The only thing I desire from Reach is to have better balance. If you look at folks in the 40+ skill range the default is always BR and power weapons. If the new Marksman Rifle fixes the default go-to weapon I will be satisfied.

P.S. The only Sound that Pimp will hear is my teabag rustling in his ears over and over again.

  338. Ashton Hayes April 28, 2010 at 8:23 am #

Hello, I don’t know if you actually read these, so I’m just going to ramble.

Hi, I’m Ashton Hayes, I’m currently in school, sending this email in hopes of winning one of these codes.

How ware you this fine, fine day? I’m perfectly happy. I’d be happier if it wasn’t raining out side though.

I think I’m going to write you a poem.

    Roses are Red
    Violets are Blue
    The Beta’s gonna be sweet.
And I’m going to kick total ass!

Huh, that didn’t rhyme at all! I’m terrible at poetry…

Maybe I can write you a Reach Fan-fiction, I’m much better at that. But, unfortunately I can’t… Cause I don’t know what it’s like yet.

Anyways, I have to go now.

Have a nice day, and I hope to hear from you soon,
    Ashton K. Hayes IV

HAlo is not a game its a franchise.and i love the franchise, its very important, it takes up over 50 percent of my whole game play online. My halo experience started when i was 7 and my brother got halo 1. me and him played and played it. Then when halo 2 came out it was the new thing (double weilded guns were awesome. Then in 2008 i got a xbox360 and halo 3 was master cheif finishing the fight and it was a finish.Odst is the halo2 city incounter magnified to our perspective. They put that game together very well. But.. now theres a new game HAlo Reach, the time before mastercheif, i have to get it early i need to see this for myself it looks amazing

  340. sakaveli April 28, 2010 at 8:23 am #

Halo 3 was without doubt the greatest FPS in history. I am 29, have a family and career but am incredibly excited by the prospect of what Halo Reach could bring. More than anything, I am excited by the variations made to the Battle Rifle and the sniper as the two guns used to be able to dictate an entire game – I wonder if this is still true! I am also excited by the prospect of having leagues and divisions, there can be no better measure for your ability!

  341. Mit April 28, 2010 at 8:23 am #

Reach looks a lot better. The DMR makes the gun more range focused, which the BR was all purpose. The armor abilities add a nice touch and so do the loadouts. The sandbox campaign sounds interesting

  342. RhysD April 28, 2010 at 8:24 am #

I’m just looking forward to the art direction of the game. The Halo Series took a grasp on my heart when I first crash landed on Halo.

  343. ManOfSteel April 28, 2010 at 8:24 am #

It looks to me like Bungie is going to implement alot of their ideas that they cut from previous games in the past and are able to put them in Reach, so it looks like it will be close to the definitive Halo experience that they had always imagined.

Only thing I can think of off the top off my head that they still left out is the water-based vehicles. Oh well, maybe on their next game. *cough*pimpsatsea*cough* 🙂

  344. Colby Wright April 28, 2010 at 8:24 am #

    plz i neeeed this game

  345. SniperStealth April 28, 2010 at 8:26 am #

Halo Reach may just be the best title in the series!

  346. SpiTshoT April 28, 2010 at 8:27 am #

    Beta pls 🙂

  347. Kelly Wright April 28, 2010 at 8:28 am #

Halo: Reach looks like it’s going to add some much needed variety to the series. I’m really excited for it, but I just hope the balancing of all the new weapons and armor abilities gets done correctly.

  348. will April 28, 2010 at 8:29 am #

being a 50 in several matchmaking playlists i think i’m really looking forward to how the tactics of the game will change. as a lot of competitive players know once you reach the higher levels the tactics are what really set you apart from other players. i’m not looking forward to the overshield, jet pack, and sprint features because i think those will take away from some of the skill involved in being competitive.

  349. TaviiC April 28, 2010 at 8:29 am #

Maybe my english is not so good, because i come from germany. (:
I searching the Halo Reach beta on every website and i try to get one of this… I must get one *_*
I need the Halo Reach beta, because i played Halo since Halo 1 was published. After Halo 1 followed Halo 2 and i played it for years. After that i was one of the happy winner from the Halo3 beta. Than i played Halo3 for every day. Until Halo3 i haven’t got money for Halo ODST. Yes, this sucks. REALLY!
And now i got no special key from the Halo ODST to get this beta.

So first i want to thank you for reading my commentar and for give us the opportunity to win some of this fantastic Betas.
So please give me the Halo Reach Beta for other fantastic moments with my favorite game in the world.

  350. Sketch April 28, 2010 at 8:32 am #

When we all look back on the Halo series, I’m pretty sure we’ll consider Reach to be the last, true Halo game, before Microsoft tried to make Halo 4 without Bungie. Truly an enterprise doomed to fail.
    Reach… Reach… Reach…

  351. Eric April 28, 2010 at 8:34 am #

Halo: Reach looks like a great return to the series’ roots (ala Halo 1) with some exciting new features. As a sucker for all things Halo, I can see this version will suck me in and refuse to spit me out for months, where I’ll come out a nice pasty pale shade.

Oh, Jetpacks ftw as well 😀

  352. Carey Jarvis April 28, 2010 at 8:35 am #

I have been playing Halo 3 for years now, and still play it every day even though some of my friends have went to Modern Warfare 2. It’s going to be great to see them all come running back for reach! The visuals look stunning, and the new weapons have me excited! New Features like the load out are fantastic. They only thing I’m not crazy about are the controller changes, but I’ll adapt!

  353. Steve Davis April 28, 2010 at 8:36 am #

I have been a die hard fan of Halo ever since the first one back on the original xbox. Halo Reach looks to bring the series back to its glory days. The graphics, gameplay, and overall presentation of the game is just amazing to me. I can’t wait to finally play this game. Bungie seems to have struck the right mix of adding new things to Halo Reach without changing the core gameplay that Halo fans have grown to love. Please select me for one of the codes, I want to play in this beta so badly. Thanks

  354. Bobby626 April 28, 2010 at 8:36 am #

I believe that Halo: Reach will be better than both Halo 2 and 3. I’m assuming that the B

Halo Reach seems to be awesome and as good as halo CE. As i’m a french guy, it may be cool to play Halo Reach Before all other Frenchy

Sprinting in Halo? Genius. I’m very excited for the game!

  358. Brooks Michael April 28, 2010 at 8:39 am #

Can’t wait, I’m really excited to see what they’re going to do with Reach, particularly in Forge mode, Bungie always outdoes themselves and really sets the bar when it comes to games, we’ll see how it all is this go around, really hyped!

  359. David Niggebrugge April 28, 2010 at 8:39 am #

I really am an hardcore Halo player.
I played the hole Triology(and Halo Wars and Halo3:ODST).
I think Halo 3 is the best Xbox 360 game ever so I would love to see how Halo: Reach is.
I hope I will be picked to play the beta and else I will just wait a bit longer.

  360. Fictionalcookie April 28, 2010 at 8:40 am #

I think halo reach will be awsome and i need the erly beta so much.
    I can´t wait.

  361. Ben April 28, 2010 at 8:40 am #

While i think Halo: Reach will be the best halo game created, it is a shame that its going to be the last halo game created by bungie, hopefully the new developers of halo will continue the reptuation that bungie created itself for and not make more halo games simply for the money reasons

  362. Bob Barnes April 28, 2010 at 8:40 am #

I can wait to use that DMR its gonna be sweet in arena!

  363. Steve Vlad April 28, 2010 at 8:41 am #

I am excited for Reach because it reminds me of the “good ole’ days” of Halo 1. They have nixed duel wielding, strengthened most of the weapons, brought back a slight fall damage, among other things. Just as important, they are progressing the game forward with a new engine, new weapons, armor abilities, and game types. It mixes the army of one feeling of Halo 1 with a new sense of teamwork. You can be great at Halo by yourself, but if you work with your team mates, coordinating weapons and abilities, you can be Roger Clemens.

  364. Bob Barnes April 28, 2010 at 8:41 am #

I can wait to use the DMR its gonna be sweet in arena!

Reach is going to be a fitting end to the Halo saga–at least as far as Bungie is willing to take it in its games. I only hope that whatever 343 Industries does with the franchise, if anything, lives up to the name. So far, it has. I can’t wait for the Beta!

  367. Relativiox April 28, 2010 at 8:42 am #

Reach is going to be so awesome, and I’m really glad they are doing a beta again. The beta for Halo 3 was a lot of fun and from what I’ve seen of Reach it’ll be twice the game Halo 3 was. Fun times will definitely be had.

  368. xDIRTtheHURTx April 28, 2010 at 8:42 am #

If there was only one game left to play in the universe it better be Halo Reach!!!!!! Has any game ever looked so amazing?! I doubt it…. Thanks the gods for halo!!! I see myself doing nothing but reach for the next month ahead. I might die due to sheer exciement!!!

  369. Bossman April 28, 2010 at 8:43 am #

I have been a huge Halo fan for years and I cant’ wait for Reach. It should be awesome and I would love to have the beta.

  371. Chris R April 28, 2010 at 8:44 am #

I’ve played Halo since day 1. Played in hundreds of tournaments. Waited in line 4 times for midnight releases (1, 2, 3, ODST)… but like some other halo friends I felt like bungie has slowly watered down Halo since CE and now it seems as if they got their heads on straight and are going back to what makes Halo special. I need to play this now!

  372. Eric Skoopz April 28, 2010 at 8:45 am #

I can’t wait to have the pistol back!!! New game modes look exciting – new Halo releases are always like holidays for me.

  373. Raigns April 28, 2010 at 8:45 am #

I don’t have much to say except that the game-play videos, so far, make it look really smooth and well made. Regardless of how “different” it is from its predecessors, I think Bungie will do a good job of keeping it fun.

  374. ARXIN April 28, 2010 at 8:45 am #

Reach is everything Halo 2 should have been. Everything Bungie has wanted to do and now has the money, resources and most of all respect for the universe and it’s devoted following. What Reach is is a monument to hard work paying off for a group of great guys. Well done Bungie.

  375. Vladamir Stupniski April 28, 2010 at 8:45 am #

I’m the most excited for Invasion. It looks to be my favorite upcoming playlist. The objective version reminds me of playing Assault on UT2K4 on the PC. I love progressing through a set of objectives and overcoming a strong defense. Invasion slayer also looks very promising with the progressive loadouts and weapon/vehicle drops. I can’t wait!

  376. Pistolwhip April 28, 2010 at 8:45 am #

Let’s see here. I’ve followed the halo series since halo: CE, played halo 2 and halo 3 online for thousands of games. Ever since I heard about Reach I’ve been following the updates almost religiously and the beta is so close that it’s killing me to wait. Not to mention I may not even have ODST in time to play it on May 3rd if I don’t win a code. I live in a small town so there’s barely anywhere to get one and the one I bought broke so I’ve been desperately trying to win a code through all these contests. Oh well, this is a random drawing so it doesn’t matter what I say.

  377. Ricky April 28, 2010 at 8:47 am #

As you may know here in England we’re in the middle of an election campaign. There chances are by next week we will be lead by David Cameron, a pillock. The only thing which can lighten these dark days is running round powerhouse with a needler rifle taking out Covenant and having pure gaming fun.

  378. Curtis April 28, 2010 at 8:48 am #

Im looking forward to the beta because “it’s super awesome.”

  379. Zelp April 28, 2010 at 8:49 am #

I think the changes for Armor Abilities will be much better than equipment was for H3. I mean I always picked it up and held it and died without using it most of the time. or did not know what the equipment icon was for, and used a powerdrainer instead of regenerator or something stupid like that. Can’t wait for Reach

  380. Alex Bull April 28, 2010 at 8:50 am #

The Halo games are a rare oddity. No matter how much I play other games, I always come back, fire up matchmaking and have a blast. Because I feel that Halo is one of the most social games available, I want to pass up my chance at getting a code (I’ve had ODST for ages). Instead, if I win one, I want to give it to a friend of mine who got all of his games stolen about a week ago, so we can actually play the beta together on XBL.

  381. Ghost92 April 28, 2010 at 8:51 am #

Wow, I’ve played Halo from the first days of CE. Each game had really great features, but came with some some features that could have been made better. I can’t wait to play the beta because it looks like they’ve taken some of the great features of each (pistol’s back, health, fall damage, hit scan weapons, RACE!!) and mated them with some new great options.

I think this will be the best incarnation yet. I’m excited to finally get the chance to play.

  382. Leo PItt April 28, 2010 at 8:51 am #

I can’t wait to get my hands on reach. Ive been a halo fan since CE. I remember setting up Lan parties and even using xbconnect to make online matches for Halo CE. Halo Reach looks like a real improvement in the franchise and I can’t wait.

  383. Jooshaction April 28, 2010 at 8:51 am #

I’ve been a huge halo fan from day one and love everything about it, but I am very excited to see all the new gameplay elements Bungie is implementing. It will stop the franchise from going stale.

  384. Franklin Gore April 28, 2010 at 8:52 am #

I think Reach looks promising, but I’m worried about two things. First, is that armor abilities will have too much used and be spammed constantly. The second is that with this new engine I hope it detects where bullets hit and doesn’t suffer from lag and hit detection glitches. Other than that it looks wicked sick!

  385. Marc April 28, 2010 at 8:52 am #

How can you ever top Halo reach? I’ve thought about this and you can’t. Modern warfare trys hard but they fail ^^. You would be blessed if you get an code to start earlier and build op some reachs skills. Let’s all hope we are one of them to get an code. If not, i congratulate the winners :). Till may 3rd spartans! :D.

  386. Tison April 28, 2010 at 8:54 am #

I’ve been playing Halo since the release day of Halo: Combat Evolved. Halo: Reach only seems like it’s going to up the ante, so I’m really looking forward to playing it. I am a little skeptical about the armor abilities though. Even though I am excited for them and think they’re a great idea, I am worried about how the community will take to them. Firefights in Halo have always been similar, and now we’ll have to deal with people jetpacking and rolling and sprinting around right in the middle of them. We’ll just have to see.

  387. Jason J April 28, 2010 at 8:54 am #

Thoughts on Halo Reach? To make a long story short I’m just happy that Bungie removed Duel Wielding. The extra armor abilites is just icing on an already glorious cake. Can I haz beta now?

  388. ThatWickedDude April 28, 2010 at 8:54 am #

Ah man I’m dying to see the Beta. It looks like the best of the Halos combined with even more new stuff.

  389. Ben G. April 28, 2010 at 8:55 am #

This year, I believe that Halo: Reach will absolutely wipe the floor with other major first person shooter titles, because of the anticipation and hype that the Halo franchise has earned. With most Halo games, each new game has been a big step up from its predecessor, adding in revolutionary new features to spice up the way we play games.

Forge, introduced as a new mode in Halo 3, has indeed changed the way we create maps. The incredible online community has managed to use advanced techniques when making maps, shared with each other online to create some amazing map masterpieces which are even better in terms of aesthetics and gameplay that maps built into the game.

This mode is what I hope returns with its strengths and not its weaknesses in Halo: Reach. Halo is a constantly improving franchise, that in my opinion, should be chosen over Call of Duty games without a doubt, because it keeps the player interested. I still play Halo 3 to this very day, and I hope that Halo: Reach will do the same years after launch.

    Thank you for reading.

  390. Zach April 28, 2010 at 8:55 am #

Halo Reach is exciting because it is probably gonna be Bungie’s last halo game for quite a long time if not forever. They have worked so hard on creating a universe not only based on their own imagination and talent but also by listening to the gamers and community who buy and play their games. I think that the end result after all is said and done is going to be one of the best gaming experiences of this or any generation. Go Bungie!

  391. HarryT April 28, 2010 at 8:56 am #

OMG i can’t wait , i think it’s gonna be the best Halo game of all time, i can’t wait to play the beta ! (IT’S SUPER AWESOME)

  392. DAVES MOM April 28, 2010 at 8:56 am #

    Halo: Reach = “Sploosh”

  393. XiPh0s April 28, 2010 at 8:56 am #

    awesome

  394. Dan April 28, 2010 at 8:59 am #

Reach looks like it is a mashup of the best parts of current FPS games (loadouts, tiered objectives, XP system, etc.) and combined them into the best parts of the Halo games thus far. I can’t wait!

  395. Evan April 28, 2010 at 9:01 am #

I’m super amped for the resurgence of objective games in Reach – sometimes slayer just isn’t enough! Choosing what you spawn with will entirely change the game, too.

  396. James Quigley April 28, 2010 at 9:04 am #

    The beta… its super awesome!

  397. Eric April 28, 2010 at 9:04 am #

Just looking forward to halo perhaps returning to its roots. I really miss they halo 2 style multilayer.

  398. frozenhaze April 28, 2010 at 9:04 am #

the only thing i can say is halo reach!!!!!!!!!!!

  399. Josh April 28, 2010 at 9:06 am #

Halo is incorporating more of the types of things other FPSs of the day have. This can only be a good thing.

  400. Martomo April 28, 2010 at 9:06 am #

All these new features are awesome and very impressive, but the gameplay is what really matters to me, i’m not all about matchmaking, sometimes I like to explore the maps, exploit glitches, get creative!
Basically what Halo: CE and Halo 2 managed to do, so I hope that this will replace Halo 2 or even be better, as long it doesn’t has invisible barriers and death zones outside the map like Halo 3 i’m a happy man.

  401. Neil April 28, 2010 at 9:08 am #

If it comes from Bungie, I know it will be nothing but quality!

  402. DesolationPoint April 28, 2010 at 9:08 am #

Bungie knows what they’re doing. It looks like they’ve managed to keep the ridiculously fun Halo formula intact while adding more elements to make you keep coming back to the game. Challenges, the credits system for leveling up and customization, tons of new gametypes, and of course Bungie’s excellent post-launch support and online stats system really will make Reach the definitive Halo.

  403. Andrew Thompson April 28, 2010 at 9:10 am #

I think halo reach looks quite good from the trailers and early gameplay videos the only one thing that may let it down is the class selection but I know bungie has never disipointed me so they shouldn’t start now.

  404. Robbert014 April 28, 2010 at 9:12 am #

    Well, here we go,

I have been a longtime Halo fan, I have played Halo since I was 8 years old(yes, my parents were fine with it). I was givven Halo 2 on the christmas of 2004 but my real only experience began with Halo 3 in the eastern of 2009. That was the first time I played a Halo game online and I got sucked into it.

Why am I telling you this?
Well, as everyone who watched the development of Halo Reach knows, the Halo Reach multiplayer is going to be a bit different then those of the last 3 games. Sure, Halo 3 had equipment but it wasn’t such a drastic change and I harly missed it while I was playing Halo 2 on april 14th.
However, I feel that Armor Abilities will change Halo’s multiplayer for good.

Many of my friends who I play Halo 3 with aren’t liking those changes, and I am trying to convince them that it won’t be bad but awsome. I really hape that this Beta can change my mind since I failed in doing this.

    Robbert014

  405. Lance April 28, 2010 at 9:13 am #

I’m very excited about Halo: Reach, it’s bound to be an epic game. One of the most exciting aspects for me is probably the new armor abilities. It’s exciting because it’s something that could really either make or break the game.

I’m also very excited to get my hands on the new DMR. I love how it even sounds to fire it.

The new gametypes are interesting too. I’ll be interested to see the move from more traditional slayer games to things like invasion and headhunter.

  406. Cynn April 28, 2010 at 9:14 am #

I think the real question is: How will the “Modern Warfare” players react to a new Halo. The games are night and day different. Will new players hate or love the game? Let’s see!

  407. Wiley Bates April 28, 2010 at 9:14 am #

They’ve taken some elements back to the roots of Halo, but also added completely new elements borrowed from other games (CoD). I’ll be interested to see how these balance out.

  408. Ernie April 28, 2010 at 9:15 am #

I can remember the first time i played halo CE! I was like wow this is the only reason for me to get an xbox. ive followed the series over the years and loved every game. Halo is all about fun with friends and i cant wait for reach. Already preordered my legendary edition and super excited about it. Reach will be the best halo ever !

  409. Frank April 28, 2010 at 9:15 am #

Halo Reach is going to be amazing. I can’t wait to try out all the different loadouts and the DMR looks awesome. It’s about time they got rid of elites for most gametypes, now we can have truly balanced matches (especially swat).

  410. Ryshu April 28, 2010 at 9:16 am #

Cant wait to play! gonna be sweet

  411. Kete April 28, 2010 at 9:17 am #

Since I am big on the Halo community, I am looking forward to Active Roster.

  412. Andrew Turner April 28, 2010 at 9:17 am #

Of all of the Xbox 360 games in my collection, the Halo games have always been my best bet for having a great time with my friends. Above all things, the Halo series emphasizes three things: cooperation, freedom of playstyle, and a willingness to have fun.

New features, such as the Active Roster, social preference filtering, and the Mute Ban that are introduced in Reach will undoubtedly expand our ability to have wonderful fragging sessions with our buddies without hindrance. Returning (and improved) features like the Theater and File Share system will allow the community to share the experience beyond the limited time frame of the beta.

The actual gameplay changes look terrific as well. I can’t wait to dominate the skies and do some invisible backstabbing. The loadout offerings seem like an ingenious way to let each player play in the manner of his or her choosing.

I am VERY eager to start a party with my friends and relatives, in order to lose myself in a different world, if only for a few hours.

  413. Shane April 28, 2010 at 9:18 am #

From the looks of it, Bungie really listened to several groups within their community when developing Halo: Reach. It has competitive appeal, a bundle of new features, and the best of the old Halo everyone has come to love so much. Personally, I think the game will make an amazing competitive shooter, more so than Halo 3 has turned out to be.

  414. JeanClaude April 28, 2010 at 9:18 am #

Halo Reach. It promises to bring back that feeling of being new to an alien world. Halo Combat Evolved brought that feeling…I hope Bungie makes their fans happy and keeps their promise. Halo has been a part of my life for about 9 years and I hope many years to come…

  415. Lt Anders April 28, 2010 at 9:19 am #

    Halo Reach:
A change in the halo series, and looks(keyword) to be better. Bringing in Weapons and armor that’s new and old, while modifiying the game dynamic from taking and holding power weapons to both having weapons and “equipment”.

  416. Broken Luck April 28, 2010 at 9:20 am #

The Bungie team has earned its stripes in the FPS multiplayer world and has proved again and again that its capable of delivering fresh, fun, and technically clean games. Reach promises that same level of excellence with a modern twist that is sure to revitalize the genre. There’s no doubt that Reach will respect the traditional Halo feel while re-energizing the franchise and bringing it up to speed with (and possibly surpassing) other modern FPSs.

  417. Romeo April 28, 2010 at 9:21 am #

Bungie never fails to create awesome games so I am very excited for Reach. All the new additions will hopefully add more flavor to the game. Yet I am a bit wary of some of the things Bungie’s being tight lipped about. Though I’m going trust Bungie makes Reach Awesome!

  418. Ryan April 28, 2010 at 9:22 am #

I’d pay $60 just for the beta!

  419. David Johnson April 28, 2010 at 9:23 am #

    Hey Harry!
I think Halo: Reach looks like an excellent game. I have high hopes for the multiplayer alone. Co-op campaign is going to be another thing I’m definitely looking forward to. Can’t wait to use that needler rifle!
    -Dave

  420. Adam Ramsden April 28, 2010 at 9:23 am #

Reach is going to be awesome…armor abilities will be what equipment was supposed to be in Halo 3…a way to add strategy to the battle so it’s not always whoever gets the first shot in wins. Can’t wait to get my hands on the DMR!!!!!!!!!!

  421. neohavoc1 April 28, 2010 at 9:24 am #

As a long time fan of Halo I’m clearly pumped about Reach. The most exciting thing is how they are evolving the gameplay without destroying the core elements of fun. I know a lot of people wont like it, but i love the death of dual wielding. From what Ive seen the tweaked AR looks perfect also.

  422. Matt Halo Fan April 28, 2010 at 9:25 am #

Personally, I love Halo: CE and Halo 3, but after the failure that was ODST, my hopes are not that high for Reach. That is why I want to get as much hands-on time with the beta, to better determine if Reach will be worth pre-ordering. One thing that I definitely like is the ability to pick your spawn point (for example, on a pre-selected teammate). I can’t tell if the armor abilities will lead to a balance game or not. Hopefully, I will get early access to the beta and have as much time to decide as possible. Thanks for this chance! 🙂

  423. Simon April 28, 2010 at 9:27 am #

I feel that Reach couldn’t be more of a step in the right direction. Because in the back of my mind, I knew that Halo 3 was more evolutionary after Halo 2 than game changing, whereas Reach looks to move not just the Halo franchise forward, but the FPS genre forward as well, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

  424. phil April 28, 2010 at 9:30 am #

Well I’ve been a big Halo fan since Halo: CE and now with Halo Reach approaching I’m both excited and curious. My curiosity is mostly about the jet packs, active camo, sprint etc… Will these be overpowered? Will it expose glitches or will it fall flat on its face? One thing I have to remember is that this is Bungie were talking about so any worries will of course be wrong. Bring on Halo Reach!!!

  425. Andrew April 28, 2010 at 9:32 am #

Reach is going to be amazing. As a very hardcore halo 2 player I was very dissapointed in halo 3. It felt like it was “noob friendly” and the whole gameplay seemed to focus more on close combat weapons. Reach however, is focused on mid range combat, and will most likely feel alot like BR start in halo 2. This will with out a doubt add a more competitive feel to the game and could make it amazing. I’m stoked.

  426. Ron C April 28, 2010 at 9:34 am #

I have been a “Halo Head” since day one. I read the novels, comics, watch the shows, I can’t get enough. I am dedicated to being Onyx in the arena. I need an early start! Thanks for the opportunity.

  427. Michael April 28, 2010 at 9:35 am #

Reach is a breath of fresh air for competitive console shooters. In a time where games have been trying to hold your hand and give you boosts if you’re doing poorly, Reach looks to be something that will force you to rely on your skill, not a care package or deathstreak reward, to win.

  428. J.R. Parnell April 28, 2010 at 9:35 am #

I cannot wait to try all the armor abilities, the new matchmaking, the new website, the new gamemodes, the new maps, and everything!

  429. Salen April 28, 2010 at 9:37 am #

I’m looking forward to what Bungie puts forward in Reach, considering that they took a lot of the changes from ODST and went even further along, pushing the game forward technology and gameplay-wise.

I am glad to hear Equipment is getting the boot in favor of ‘Armor Abilities’, since I’ll be the first to admit that Equipment for me was more of an afterthought when I’d play the game. Having a power you can use for a short time, rechargabling after a small cooldown time, really should help me integrate the new abilities into place whereas Equipment was an “Oh, right, I’ll use this instantly or just forget about it, whatever” situation.

But what I’m looking forward to the most has to be the ability to go completely crazy with making a Spartan look the way I want him to, and to have that same character be usable in the Single-Player game. I know the Beta isn’t going to be showing off the SP side, but the fact they want the Spartan you design and customize to be the one you use in the Single Player makes me happy to no end. This is sort of like Rainbow 6 Vegas 2’s Persistent Elite Creation, where the character you used in Multiplayer was your Single Player character and vice versa.

With so many small tweaks and changes and additions to the game, I’m overall just looking forward to getting my hands on the Beta and hoping it will be as enjoyable as Halo 3’s Beta was through Crackdown.

  430. Rickey April 28, 2010 at 9:37 am #

This game is going kind of reminds me of team fortress. im liking that they are taking on different classes. it will be awesome. im super excited fr the new weapons also, and the new modes are really the tipping point on whats gonna be the game changer that everyone will definately notice aside from those lovely lovely classes 🙂

  431. D Jones April 28, 2010 at 9:38 am #

i cant wait for this game. all the gametypes look amazing!

  432. Chrsitian April 28, 2010 at 9:39 am #

Halo 3 feels slow to me after playing games like BF2 and MW2. Luckily Reach looks fast paced and intense. HARD AND FAST, JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT!!!!

  433. Doug April 28, 2010 at 9:40 am #

I wasn’t excited about Halo Reach at first…but given what they have shown with the multiplayer, its clear Bungie is one of the few developers that truly care about community. Some of the options they are offering still seem too good to be true.

Already the kings of matchmaking, taking it a step further and allowing you to customize how matchmaking works is great. Along with the evolution of their MP game while still maintaining a Halo core is simply amazing.

This game really does look great.

  434. Rye April 28, 2010 at 9:40 am #

I cant wait for the beta to come out. finals are next week so it would be nice to get to play the bets early since next week ill be studying.

  435. Ryan April 28, 2010 at 9:41 am #

i really cant wait for this game i will be playing it with my friends and we will be like omgklahkdashkdhsakhgdkhgksa

  436. Jennifer D April 28, 2010 at 9:43 am #

Halo Reach will make my dreams come true

  437. Sean April 28, 2010 at 9:45 am #

I’m already addicted and i haven’t even played yet. >_>

  438. Odin April 28, 2010 at 9:46 am #

    The Beta: It’s super awesome
    (Or so I hear.)

  439. Test1 April 28, 2010 at 9:47 am #

I’m hoping that Oonsk makes an appearance. See if the hype is true.

  440. Colin O April 28, 2010 at 9:47 am #

I really want to play the Halo: Reach beta on the hopes that it gets back to the Halo: CE roots. Everyone knows Halo: CE was the best iteration yet, except for Bungie, apparently.

  441. Dan April 28, 2010 at 9:48 am #

It is a meal that I want to eat every day for the rest of my life.

  442. Eli S. April 28, 2010 at 9:50 am #

  443. Nowak911 April 28, 2010 at 9:53 am #

This is the definitive Halo which will honor all of Bungie’s Halo Excellence. This will bring us back to the Halo CE days when console FPS was just a dream.

i need this code i don´t have halo odst i also need lucky seh

I am incredibly excited! Could be the ultimate multiplayer FPS!

  446. Tnp132 April 28, 2010 at 9:59 am #

Halo reach will set the standars for fps. It will bring us new experiencea no ther game can deliver. The great thing about bungie is they always please their friends and so far just what they have released i am very pleased armor equipment and loadouts look interesting

  447. nibble monkey April 28, 2010 at 10:03 am #

I think Halo Reach will be awesome as we will find out how the UNSC Epic Fail instead of how the Covenant Epic Fail

  448. Phillip April 28, 2010 at 10:04 am #

I think reach is going to be the best halo game yet. Halo is just so unique nowadays. Mostly we just have people playing modern day shooters like call of duty or bad company 2 which makes this more realistic. But halo has more of an arcade game feel to it and keeps things interesting and fun longer. Reach is going to be the best!

  449. Stephen Kanter April 28, 2010 at 10:06 am #

If I do not receive an early access( friends and family) code for the Halo Reach Beta I will surely perish. Alright, perhaps that is a bit of an exaggeration, if not a bold faced lie. Allow me to dispense with the melodrama and prove to you that I am a truly worthy candidate.

In middle school I purchased an Xbox solely to give myself the opportunity to play Halo CE. This was a long and grueling process. I had to both convince my mother that M rated sci-fi first person shooters were not of the devil (no small undertaking) and scrounge up enough dough to be able to afford my own bulky, black beauty of a console. Despite the obstacles in my way, I knew I had to persevere, I knew I had to play Halo. Halo is the game that made me truly fall in love with first person shooters, the game that made me a hardcore gamer.

Sure there were others before Halo. I had flirted with Goldeneye 64, and even had a prolonged love affair with Time Splitters 2. Both of these titles are incredible shooters in their own right, but Halo was different. Halo’s patented and perfect mix of intense, frenetic twitch shooting combined with tight vehicular controls, sandbox design, and heavy emphasis on teamplay, made it the ultimate shooter experience anyone could ever hope to enjoy. I knew that Halo CE would be a game changer, and it was.

Eventually, the day arrived when I had finally searched under enough couch cushions for spare change, traded in enough old games, and done enough chores. I had finally accumulated the necessary funds to see my dream of owning the Halo machine (original Xbox) realized. I headed down to the local Gamestop and purchased an Xbox, Halo CE, and an additional controller (the fat kind that was the size of an original Gameboy).

From that day onward my devotion to the Halo franchise has been nothing short of fanatic. Purchasing all of the Halo games in their special edition (and legendary) varieties was not enough for me. I had to have it all. The action figures, the graphic novels, the artbooks, the soundtracks, the underwear, any kind of swag you could imagine. Not only was a love of Halo instantly born within me, but I quickly developed a fondness for the makers of the “crazy sausage” known as Bungie studios. Bungie has proven over the years to be one of the most gracious developers in the business. Whether through supporting their games with excellent patches and DLC, releasing high quality and memorable expansions like ODST (firefight FTW), or displaying an attitude of unparalleled respect for their rabid (sometimes overly exuberant) fanbase, Bungie has proven themselves to be a cut above other game developers.

I am a friend of Bungie, because Bungie has been my friend since I was 13 years old. I’m part of their family because they have treated me as such since I first popped CE into my disc tray, since I made my first post on Bnet, since I headshotted my first grunt. When I saw the words “love Bungie” on the loading screen of the Halo 3 Beta, I knew that Bungie sincerely meant their work to be a labor of love, not just to me, but to the whole Halo community.

Now that the Halo Reach Beta is upon us, and Bungie’s swan song to the Halo universe is nearing completion, I’m begging you for the chance to experience the Beta as a member of Bungie’s family. Not because I think I deserve it, not just because I want to get my hands on the new hotness a few days early, but because I would truly remember this experience as something significant, something special.

The tweaks and improvements being made to the classic Halo formula in Halo Reach are too many to count. One of the features that has me especially excited is armor abilities. In Halo 3 an increased layer of strategy and complexity was added to encounters thanks to the inclusion of equipment, but it appears that with equipment, Bungie only scratched the surface. In Halo 3 a player could hold on to a piece of equipment, say a bubble shield, never use it effectively and then get capped in the dome. In Halo Reach, armor abilities are essentially rechargeable, reusable pieces of equipment. Where a player may have hesitated from throwing down a bubble shield in Halo 3, Reach encourages the player to make liberal use of an ability like “armor lock” in order to bump up that k/d ratio. Where Halo 3 had players occasionally lower their enemies’ shields by deploying a onetime use power drain, Halo Reach offers up a variety of new rechargeable, lethal abilities that increase players’ options when it comes to dealing death. Whether it be reigning terror from above via a jetpack, sprinting up to your foe and landing that sweet assassination, or going dark with active camo, the potential offered up by armor abilities is truly exciting. Whereas equipment served as a good appetizer, armor abilities look to be the delectable, tactical main course in Halo Reach.

Adding yet another wrinkle of complexity to the classic Halo gameplay I have grown to love, are loadouts. For the first time ever in a Halo game, players will be given a degree of control with respect to their starting arsenal. With loadouts players can change both their starting weapon as well as their armor ability, and it appears that Bungie may be sitting on even more loadout customization options to be released in the full game. Choosing your loadouts for basic slayer variants looks to be good fun and of great tactical importance, but where things get really interesting is in the Spartans vs. Elites gametype “Invasion”. Having a tiered unlock system that allows players to utilize progressively more and more lethal loadouts as the match progresses is an ingenious idea on the part of Bungie, and it’s one particular aspect of Halo Reach’s multiplayer that I cannot wait to try out.

Besides the significant additions of armor abilities and loadouts into the multiplayer mix, there is plenty more to get excited about in the Halo Reach Beta. Based on all of the footage and developer commentary I have viewed, it appears that Bungie is aiming to have elite players excel in Reach with the game’s new weapons, new weapons that are deadly accurate, totally precise, and perhaps at first a tad difficult to master. The transition from 4shot BR kills to 5shot DMR kills is going to be a big shift I’m sure, but what most excites me is Bungie’s approach to the sandbox this time around. Instead of having an uber powerful fallback weapon like the BR in Halo 3, it seems that Bungie is placing a large emphasis on making sure the secondary weapons are not nerfed, but are legitimate combat tools to be used to your tactical advantage. The best examples that come to my mind when attempting to exemplify this design paradigm are the needler and magnum. Both of these weapons seem (again based on developer commentary and gameplay footage) to be back with a vengeance, to be guns you want in your backpack.

For these reasons and so many more I cannot wait to play the Halo Reach Beta. Reach appears to be shaping up into the most balanced and fun Halo game ever created. I haven’t even begun to touch on the game’s graphical and sound improvements, increased sense of scale (those environments are jaw dropping), in depth cosmetic customization for player models, and the substantial improvements being made to the matchmaking experience. Halo Reach is going to be the quintessential Halo experience, I believe Bungie wouldn’t have it any other way, and I would love nothing more than the chance to play it early.

At heart, I’m still that giddy 13 year old happily cross mapping with the magnum at LAN parties, and receiving one of these coveted “friends and family” codes would be just as exciting and rewarding to me as the first time I ever navigated the corridors of “The Pillar of Autumn” back in middle school.

So yes, when I say it would kill me to not receive one of these codes, I am of course exaggerating. However, as a longtime fan of both the Halo franchise and of Bungie studios, missing out on early access would be a great disappointment to me. Regardless of how this turns out, I will be online May 3rd feeling my way around armor abilities and trying my hand at the DMR. I hope to see you there. Cheers!

    Stephen Kanter

    p.s.

The fact that may 3rd is the beginning of my finals week here at school is troublesome, and I sure wouldn’t mind having this coming weekend to get in some playing time 😉

Can’t wait for the all-nighters playing with friends until the birds outside remind me to go to bed, Halo is a community experience, and I can’t wait for Reach to improve it.

I’m very excited about Halo: Reach. I really like the look of the game and I think that all the new stuff (like jetpacks) looks really cool. Can’t wait to play it online!

I’m so hyped for this. I love that they’re really changing it up while keeping the core gameplay of halo. God, I really want to get this code early. I’m at school and our campus internet is so slow it will probably take 2 days to download.

Halo as a franchise is so big, it attracts devotees and haters in equal measure. What I find interesting, is that after the first one, even Bungie didn’t realise exactly what it was that makes Halo, *Halo*. What is it that people love about it?

For a long time in my early twenties, Halo was the very social fabric of my friends lives. Even when there was no Xbox Live and no broadband, thousands of people would lug their Xboxes to their friends houses and later on even to cinemas just to play with each other. Eventually this extended to Xbox Live type services like Xbox Connect etc. People now talk about ‘social’ games like Farmville like they are something new. Like them or loathe them, I don’t see how they are any more social than large numbers of people jumping through all sorts of hoops just to play together.

The root of all this for me, away from the usual stuff about the Halo tripod etc. is that the game is about ‘moments’. Things you can tell your mates in the pub about the next day. Crucially, everybody has the same chance to do something out of the ordinary, something notable and change the course of given game or just do something plain funny that people want to watch. No other game facilitates this to the same extent. Every game is different, the unexpected can and will happen.

And the great thing about Bungie is that they realise this, even if that was by accident and they build upon it without breaking what’s already there. So they put in the party system we all now take for granted and they put in the ability to share screenshots or films and they put in a persistent reward system that doesn’t unbalance the rest of the game and of all the crazy stuff that can only happen in Halo games and not others.

And in Reach, it’s very clear they’re just building on all of that goodness even more and that’s why people like me will go completely mad for it whether we play it on Thursday or Monday 🙂

I own in halo. Grenade then BR to the face. Melee then BR to the face. Ghost then BR to the face. Shotgun, then BR to the face. It’s because I’m in the business of giving you the business and business is booming.

My thoughts on Halo: Reach are I think I want to play it very very badly.

  458. Eddie G April 28, 2010 at 10:17 am #

Halo Reach is looking to be the absolute biggest game of the year. No other game can generate as much hype as Bungie’s premier first person shooter franchise. Halo is definitely the biggest franchise of the last 10 years with a deep and expansive universe to compliment game play that showed how a console FPS should be done.

I’m looking forward to the Halo Reach Beta because i’ve been playing Halo non stop ever since the original Xbox and continue to enjoy it, and the changes to Reach are the kind of changes I have hoped for so i’ll no doubt enjoy it a lot and I cant wait to try it out and get a feel for all the new changes/improvements, and just to enjoy playing a new Halo game Online with lots of fresh ideas and improvements

Reach is shaping up to be an amazing game. I think it’ll be a great game to sum up all of the previous games. I’m excited to see what the final game will be like. win or lose, thanks for giving us a chance to win early access to the beta.

I’d love to try it out. Hopefully Halo: Reach will offer some real innovation in the series, as great as halos 1 2 3 and odst are its essentially the same experience. I got tired of it long ago, but I’d love to try the new version.

  464. Zack April 28, 2010 at 10:23 am #

So far Reach looks awesome, but here’s hoping that Bungie starts a new series after this!

  465. Brandon April 28, 2010 at 10:23 am #

Halo: Reach simply looks amazing. Since the beginning of Halo Combat Evolved, the gameplay has always been top notch. Since then, the gameplay has been improved greatly. The graphics are mouth watering and I cannot wait to play in a whole new generation of Halo. I have pre-ordered the Legendary Edition the moment it was announced because this game has won my heart. I’m already missing jetpacks and I haven’t even got to use one yet. This game is at a whole different level, and to anyone that does not get it, I feel pity for him/her. I will admit that I have been skeptical a few times with Bungie’s huge changes to the sandbox, but after seeing the gameplay of Halo: Reach in action; I pinched myself because it was better than I even expected and I’m ecstatic.

  466. Jake Parkes April 28, 2010 at 10:25 am #

I would love to be able to have this beta version for myself but if I get it I’m giving it to my dad who bought me the original xbox when it first came out along with halo when it first came out
For introducing me to this epic game I would love to repay the favor to him by giving him the code as a thank you pleaser choose me if not for me for my dad thanks
    -jake

  467. Cam April 28, 2010 at 10:25 am #

I believe that Halo: Reach is going too be extraordinarily awesome. The addition of Load outs, is probably the smartest move by Bungie.

Now, (In some game-types) people who think the AR is “noob” can just choose a loadout with a DMR, and people who play close-range and defensive can pick the Load-out with the Shotgun and Armor Lock.

This allows people to play how they want to play, and since the Load-outs are predetermined, Veterans wont have more weapon options then Rookies, which makes for a better experience for everyone.

  470. Steve TALL April 28, 2010 at 10:28 am #

I’m hesitant about the changes to the multiplayer. More of a purist myself, but it’s exciting to see something different coming for the series.

I’ve been a huge fan of the Halo series since Combat Evolved and I’m rediculously excited to play reach. Can’t wait to try out the armour abilites and the new weapons!

  474. John April 28, 2010 at 10:33 am #

Health Packs! This is going to make reach a winner! Now when you unload on someone and they get away they cant hide for a few seconds and come at you with full health. Im hoping the lower jumps and Health Packs can bring us back to Halo CE.

  475. Nathan April 28, 2010 at 10:35 am #

I have recently come to love Halo 3 multiplayer and I have to say that Halo: Reach looks like it will live up to the previous games. The art looks beautiful and the addition of armor abilites looks like it will change the gameplay up a bit. I’m looking forward to the beta!

  476. Cameron Smith April 28, 2010 at 10:36 am #

Simply put, waiting sucks, and I can barely wait any longer. I wish I had a real jetpack.

  477. Kelvin April 28, 2010 at 10:36 am #

One of the most underrated things about reach is how fluid the animations are now. Every shot in every specific body part has a certain response when attacked and the executions are just amazing. Playing as an elite and digging a sword into the back of your enemy and tossing them aside has to be the coolest thing ever!

  478. dirkdiggler713 April 28, 2010 at 10:38 am #

This is going to put halo back on the map, no more glitchy modern warfare 2, hello halo reach bringing multiplayer to a whole new level of gaming. Im so excited i want to crap my pants.

  479. vince valenzuela April 28, 2010 at 10:39 am #

Man, bungie looks like they really out did themselves with this one. I think the ability of the armor abilities combined with the new invasion gametypes will make for the best multiplayer installment we’ve seen from this franchise. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

  480. Maggot April 28, 2010 at 10:40 am #

I think Reach looks amazing, the new animation and flying particles in particular look mind blowing!

I want the beta because I’ve been playing Halo for 5+ years and didn’t recieve the H3 F&F code and I really wnat to play Reach…

  482. Woorloog April 28, 2010 at 10:47 am #

I think Reach is looking quite good… not just graphically but gameplaywise too. The campaign sounds especially interesting and the fact we’ll be playing as Spartan III makes the game even more interesting. There are a few things i’m worrying about, like the increased range of the weapons, i fear it may reduce usability of CQB weapons, which are in Halo 3 already pretty bad. Everyone should be allowed to play as they wish and not forced to adapt a certain style to stay competitive.
The Arena sounds very nice and the Invasion even better.

  483. Curtis April 28, 2010 at 10:47 am #

Great to see the evolution of the Halo series, how they try to advance gameplay while sticking with the “feel” of a Halo game. Can’t wait to play the beta.

  484. Kishan Patel April 28, 2010 at 10:50 am #

I’m going to get rid of all my stress from medical school by playing this game 5 days straight. The graphics look amazing and the new loadouts add infinite differences and adds so many more tactical possibilites

  485. Brooks April 28, 2010 at 10:50 am #

I think reach will b awesome and I can’t wait

  486. Chief Mendez April 28, 2010 at 10:51 am #

  487. Steve Salazar April 28, 2010 at 10:54 am #

As kid’s we would LAN up a few x box’s and TV’s and have small LAN parties with a halo 1 and play all night. In college we would play on live halo 2, even tho we would be in different city’s we would still keep in touch vie halo. As adult’s we play halo 3 and are all waiting for reach =)

  488. Hunter April 28, 2010 at 10:57 am #

Halo Reach will probably make the game of 2010. I believe that this is true, because of all of the factors that influence it (one being that I am the biggest Halo fanboy in the world.). It has so many features that are unique, and some features that have been in other games that they have re-modeled and made better. Halo Reach is said to be the definitive Halo game, and sadly the last Halo game. Bungie is going to give this one all that they have, and I have been following them since 2000 when Halo came out, so I would know how this is going to play out (sort of). I believe that Bungie is going to make this game completely unique, fun, and simply bad-ass just like they have done with previous projects/titles. I simply do not know how I am going to get through the weekend, ill try my best though! See you guys on the beta.

  489. Tom April 28, 2010 at 10:58 am #

I think the game looks amazing! I’m really liking the feature that tells you where you are in the map under the radar that I saw in one of the preview videos.

  490. Paul W April 28, 2010 at 10:59 am #

I have never been more excited for any Halo game. Reach was like a gift from god. Ever since I read The Fall of Reach (right before Halo came out), I have wanted to live that event. When Bungie showed that trailer at E3, my eyes teared up. Reach will be big. I want to be a part of it. It will be the greatest honor for me as a Halo fan to help test the game during the F&F Beta.

I want the Beta because I am a big time Halo fan. I bought Halo the day it came out. I bought every subsequent game on the release date. I have every Legendary edition and every Special Edition. I have every map pack. I edit Halopedia. I have every Halo book. I have a huge (more than 200 figures) Halo action figure collection.

There is more to fandom than possessions, though. I STILL use the Halo 3 Zune. I still use a Halo wallet. I post every day on multiple Halo forums. I host custom games with some of the biggest fans (Peter Cooper of Operation Chastity, Stephen L (the guy that does all the measurements on Halo.Bungie.Org), Urk, and many more). I have even received mail FROM a Bungie employee (I won’t drop that name for privacy’s sake). The custom game I host (along with the user Hyokin) is famous on the Halo.Bungie.Org forums (the longest running Halo fansite). I have over 4000 games of Halo 3 alone.

My day-to-day life is affected by Halo. I run on a treadmill everyday while playing Halo. I play Halo with my girlfriend. I have a Halo ringtone. My homepage is Halo.Bungie.Org. I wear a Halo jacket whenever I’m cold. I warm up for playing clarinet and saxophone by playing the Halo theme.

  491. ZafierX April 28, 2010 at 11:01 am #

I think Reach is going to be the best game in a series of amazing games. From the trailers it seems like bungie has learned from their past games and putting every last ounce of creativity they have in their new game. The jump from halo to halo 2 was a much larger jump from halo 2 to halo 3 for me. I feel like Reach is an even bigger jump, which is a good thing.

  492. Brandon April 28, 2010 at 11:02 am #

I can’t wait to get my hands on the Halo Reach beta because it looks like a complete revolution compared to Halo 2/3. The last couple games really haven’t been much of a major step forward, but Reach might finally change that. Between the armor abilities, load outs, and new weapons, this looks like the Halo we’ve all been waiting for.

  493. Dave-S-113 April 28, 2010 at 11:04 am #

Not only will this game be fantastic. Easy contender for goty.
It also can be very porno like.

    I mean..Halo reach..reacharound…nvm.

  494. Joe April 28, 2010 at 11:06 am #

Reach is looking to be an awesome addition to the Halo series, and a really great way for Bungie to send it off. I’m looking forward to the way your Spartan crosses between campaign and multiplayer, and the new armor abilites look sweet.

All they need to put in is Firefight and this will be the ultimate Halo experience.

  495. Bryan Renz April 28, 2010 at 11:07 am #

I would love the Halo Reach Beta, been playing halo since 2001 haha
Halos been my game ever since.

  496. Tempage April 28, 2010 at 11:07 am #

I really can’t wait to see how the changes in Reach effect the online aspect of Halo. I really hope that this beta test will expose Halo: Reach’s Mod vulnerabilities.

  497. Morpheus April 28, 2010 at 11:08 am #

I’m actually very excited about Reach’s multiplayer, though truthfully I was not at first. Multiplayer battles look very promising, there seems to finally be a solution to this whole melee business, Armor Abilities look great, and I’m so happy that Elites are finally glorified in the status that they always deserved. Queue-join is the feature I’ve always needed, as I’ve ALWAYS forgotten to invite people after matchmade games, and the same goes to my friends. I also appreciate the new credits, commendations, and armor variance systems. The re-vamped Theater system looks fantastic, and I can’t wait to get my hands on this Beta!

  498. ChairmanMeow April 28, 2010 at 11:08 am #

The most interesting part about Reach is how there is finally a difference between Spartans and Elites. The latter is always said to be stronger and faster, but in every of the other Halo games, they were equal.

  499. Kevin April 28, 2010 at 11:16 am #

All of the new features they are putting in this game are amazing. I’m so stoked!

  500. Albert Kleschick April 28, 2010 at 11:17 am #

The reason why I believe that Halo: Reach will be the most epic game out of the entire series is because their combining all the games into one solid action pack, fun filled multiplayer experience that no other game can even come close to touching. Their bringing back old classic weapons (pistol), adding new weapons we’ve never seen (DMR), and taking away what made the game more annoying (dual wielding). This will truly be the best and last Halo that will forever leave a lasting impression on the gaming community for years and years to come, just like Mario has done in the 80’s.

  501. protip April 28, 2010 at 11:19 am #

The more videos and information I see about Halo Reach the more pumped up I get! They are including so many new features inspired by other games to improve upon the Halo formula. I’d love to get early access to the beta because I know how painful it will be to go back to Halo 3 when the beta is over and we have to wait until the fall to play again.

I need the Halo Reach Beta early because I have spent the last 12
hours searching the internet in search of codes. I have followed every
single person on twitter that has access and have literally been
updated my Google search for “halo reach beta early code” every 2
minutes. I have everything setup for the Beta including a 1080p
monitor with a 2ms response time, xbox 360 halo 3 special edition,
green halo controller, 20mb per second direct fios internet connection
(both download and upload, gotta love fios), halo 3 dashboard theme,
and to top it all off, multiple cans of special edition mountain dew
halo game fuel (from the halo 3 release, yes I have saved them all
this time). I can’t put into words how great it would be to play it
early and get in some invaluable practice before the masses get to it
(I was also a friends and family tester for the H3 beta and was
playing when only a handful of people were online, so I am an
experienced beta tester also). That’s pretty much all I can say about
how much I want to play. My green and gold 360 is patiently waiting to
own some jetpack noobs! Thanks for the offer and thanks for reading
    this!

Halo Reach since day 1 has seemed like it’s going to be an incredible game, from the new weapons to the new game types to the Active Roster. It all looks like it will live up to the hype, and I have no doubt in my mind people will be playing this for years to come!

  505. Syed April 28, 2010 at 11:24 am #

I want that beta code so badly… A weekend of play would be awesome since playing on weekdays isn’t really feasible.

  506. Michael April 28, 2010 at 11:24 am #

I’m all about the squad based tactics, personally. The Halo story is particularly interesting as well, and I’m looking forward to it getting more fleshed out in Halo: Reach

  507. Tom April 28, 2010 at 11:26 am #

Halo Reach is shaping up to be an amazing game. All the new features should bring something new to the table that should make this the best Halo yet, can’t wait for release day.

  508. AfroRyan April 28, 2010 at 11:26 am #

I’m very much looking forward to the Reach Beta, regardless if I get it early. I got lucky enough to get to play the Halo 3 Beta early, so here’s to hoping I get into Reach early too.

  509. Master Thon April 28, 2010 at 11:27 am #

I have fallen off the Halo wagon after ODST, but seeing Reach get me excited. I can’t wait to try out jumping a Warthog and leaping from it in mid air with my jet back.

  510. C April 28, 2010 at 11:27 am #

I wonder if the story of Reach will go beyond that of the planet being destroyed. Perhaps Noble Team will be able to escape??

  511. V2Blast April 28, 2010 at 11:28 am #

Halo: Reach is a great way of reinventing the Halo series a bit and keeping it from getting stale. Finally, there are other Spartans for you to fight with – you’re not the only competent soldier around.

  512. DHalo April 28, 2010 at 11:28 am #

I think that Halo: Reach is shaping up to be much more fun than the previous Halos, as much of a harkening back as a move forward. Excited to see what’s coming. 😀

  513. Brandon April 28, 2010 at 11:29 am #

Halo Reach is looking amazing. I trust Bungie in their work making the most unique things in any Halo game. I’ve been playing since 2001 and I love the franchise. Knowing the beginning is the best way to end it.

  514. Justin April 28, 2010 at 11:35 am #

Halo: Reach definitely is looking like it’s received the most improvements so far out of the series. Definitely looking forward to playing the beta!

  515. Zach April 28, 2010 at 11:35 am #

Halo Reach looks to be an awesome game. All the halo’s up to now have had an engrossing story, epic gameplay, and just freaking badass characters. I also love the multiplayer and have played a lot on it! I cannot wait to say what Halo: Reach has in store for us!

  516. Derek F. April 28, 2010 at 11:37 am #

Always been a big fan of halo. Reach is looking like a another solid title. Gonna be sad when Bungie moves onto a new game after this. Hope Microsoft doesn’t mess up the Halo franchise after that.
Anyways see you all online in the beta soon.

  517. brent April 28, 2010 at 11:38 am #

Halo reach should be an amazing experence. Not only will the new multiplayer features bring mre depth to the game, but the expanded level design should help change the pace. Between all these new features and weapons it should not feel like a rehash but rather a great new experience. I can not wait for a test drive.

  518. Malcolm Foster April 28, 2010 at 11:40 am #

Coming early into the Halo universe I feel like I can learn new stuff and teach others when they get it

  519. Brice April 28, 2010 at 11:44 am #

Im super excited about the Halo Reach Beta i would love to play and test it early. im a diehard Halo fan thats been playing since Combat Evolved. From what i have seen on all the demos and weekly updates at bungie.net Reach is going to be the best halo installment yet.

  520. Luke Obee April 28, 2010 at 11:47 am #

This is Spartan 117, I NEED a Halo Reach beta code, Cortana is doing my f*****g head in and on top of that im bored. I found a wireless internet connection deep inside Forward Unto Dawn and I missed Reach ground side and want to see what happened this is my only chance to see Reach again. Please send the code to the co-ordinates underneath, Sierra 117 out.

  521. Polar April 28, 2010 at 11:49 am #

Beta is going to rock! Thanks for the opportunity to get it early

  522. Corey Hloben April 28, 2010 at 11:50 am #

I started playing Halo from the very beginning, and while I was disappointed in Halo 3, I am excited about Halo:Reach. I look forward to the new game types, new weapons, and hopefully new game engine. I hope to get into the beta early so I have a few extra days to run more games and test the game to its fullest abilities.

    sincerely,

    A true fan.

  523. Kyle April 28, 2010 at 11:51 am #

Since Combat Evolved the Halo franchise just continues to amaze me. Halo 2 did so much for gaming, and 3 just pushed things farther. I’m sure their last time around will be even more jaw dropping then what we have already seen. I’m very eager to hop into this one.

  524. Eric Seibold April 28, 2010 at 11:52 am #

Personally I loved Halo 1 when it came out. I would play it for hours on end. I also enjoyed Halo 2 when it came out. Halo 3 disappointed me though. It didn’t have the magic halo feel the other two had so I’m hoping Reach will change that for me.

  525. Neal April 28, 2010 at 11:53 am #

Reach should be the best one yet! Can’t wait for the beta. I’m taking 2 days off of work to start out with.

  526. SpartanSnake April 28, 2010 at 11:53 am #

I think Halo: Reach is looking extremely great. Not only did it have a graphical overhaul, but they added a lot of modes to MP, which look pretty fun. Armor abilities will add the spices and balance the human-vehicle combat. I’m excited for jetpack and armor lock mainly. The only thing I’m really hoping is that they’ll add Firefight at the end. Even if it releases later as DLC. They definitely took everything that made each of the Halos a fantastic game.

  527. Michael Onofre April 28, 2010 at 11:54 am #

I think Halo: Reach is by far going to be the greatest installment of the series. Everything from weapons to armor enchancements and gameplay elements are going to be perfected for this game! Cannot wait for the campaign either!

  528. Toro April 28, 2010 at 11:56 am #

This game looks off the heezy, especially armor lock, Armor lock is gonna be the perfect noob-tube counter, can’t wait to test it out.

  529. Brandon L April 28, 2010 at 11:56 am #

I appreciate you guys for the opportunity to participate in the Halo: Reach Beta F&F window. All I can do now is wait with bated breath!

  530. Atiba April 28, 2010 at 11:58 am #

Reach is looking to be the best Halo game ever and as a huge fan, Reach is a must have. It has so much new stuff in it like the armor abilites and new guns but it still plays like Halo should so my wife and I would really like to test this beta early. We both play everyday she has her own account and I have mines GT are Not Trinigirl and Triniboy IxC anyone could hit us up for some gameplay we always up for some fun. I dont know if I can say this but we still play HALO C E on xboxconnect with some buddies, this is where I first started playin didnt know anything about xbox live first time played was November 15 2001 to this date and cant stop playing any of the serious. HALO REACH IS GOING TO BE THE BEST HANDS DOWN, not really liking the new super shield but everything else nice fun factor OUR FAVORITES BIG TEAM BATTLE I HOPE THE HAVE IT IN REACH

  531. Dylan M April 28, 2010 at 12:01 pm #

I think this game looks awesome. I havnt been this excited for a game scince Halo 3. I think this game will be a lot better then Halo 3. The AA add a whole new gameplay strategy and the new weapons look sick. Im really looking forward to this game. Hopefully i can get the beta code so I can play early.

  532. Spartan 16 April 28, 2010 at 12:05 pm #

All the hype makes it sound awesome! I have been a fan of the halo games for the past year and a half and I am uber excited!

  533. Haloguy April 28, 2010 at 12:07 pm #

Reach is going to be amazing!

  534. Arnold Bennett April 28, 2010 at 12:11 pm #

Hi I’m a huge Halo fan and would love the chance to kick my teeth with the beta on the 29th.

In my opinion Halo Reach looks to be the best multiplayer Halo experience Bungie have created thanks to the ultra competitive Arena. Over my 3,000+ Halo 3 games it frustrates me that I am not ranked on my own performance but rather as one of a team. With the Arena Bungie are saying to me that my good performances will count towards my overall ranking, irrelevant of whether I have a poor team or not.

Secondly the nerfing of the original melee system will add more emphasis on ranged combat, separating the better players from the ones who wish to close a gap and melee their way to victory.

I really hope I am picked for a code.

  535. Voho April 28, 2010 at 12:13 pm #

Halo: Reach is the most amazing installment of the series, featuring many features I’ve been hoping for since pre-Halo 2. Sprinting, Jet Packs, a beefed up Magnum, Spartans VS. Elites. I just can’t wait to jump into this experience! Not only that, but my Birthday is actually on the very date of the Friends and Family Beta, my party being the weekend after. It would be incredible to share an early invite with my best friends (as the Beta also supports splitscreen and guests) and give back a little for all of the great memories we’ve shared on Halo in the past.

  536. Joseph Vaughn April 28, 2010 at 12:13 pm #

I feel that since Bungie has significantly improved their design, and detail of graphics, so this game has what it takes to last for awhile already.

By then adding in that classic formula that has always made Halo the best FPS on a console, and adding in more intuitive equipment like armor abilities, well I think they cannot fail.

This game is going to be amazing, and I know I will be playing for many, many years to come.

  537. Bryan Polum April 28, 2010 at 12:14 pm #

I want halo reach beta because the videos that are already out make me want to get back into halo. Was a big fan of Halo 1 and 2 but 3 I think took a step back from those 2. So I didn’t purchase ODST. But now after watching videos and reading information from the developers, I can say that this game looks a lot better than the previous games!

  538. Daniel Fried-Marcovitch April 28, 2010 at 12:14 pm #

Thank you guys for this opportunity to get in on the halo reach beta. I am a big halo fan.I have played all the of the halos. I am super excited for halo reach. It looks like it is going to be one of the best games this year. I like how they added jet packs, new weapons, and even modifications to the armor you wear. I like the new instant kill feature they added when you sneak up behind an enemy. I also can’t wait to try the new maps. Another thing that i am glad about is that they put forge in reach. I use to have so much fun with forge in halo 3 that i wonder what it is going to be like in halo reach. I really hope i can get into the beta early so i can test out all of the awesome new features. Thank you again for this opportunity of a lifetime.

  539. TimeGlitch April 28, 2010 at 12:17 pm #

Halo Reach will probably be the last Halo game I’ll ever buy, so it better be good!

I think the new additions like AAs and Invasion provide a lot more content for the casual player than ever before. Now, we have a lot of fun game modes where winning isn’t necessarily the most important factor. Invasion gets more fun as you go, whether you’re winning OR losing. I like that.

AAs are also just plain awesome.

But I’m also looking forward to the Arena. Finally, a competitive play area where I’ll be competing against my peers, not against people who are either way too easy or going to kick my ass.

Plus the new Pistol/DMR? Forget about it. Class is about to be taught =)

Hope I win here, I got a few friends without a code!

  540. Blake Hurley April 28, 2010 at 12:18 pm #

Reach is looking amazing, the new engine, the new animations, I can only wonder though, how will MLG cope with the new magnum and the DMR? With such few hits needed for a kill it will be hard to keep games balanced. Also how will load outs and armor abilities fit into the MLG play style?

  541. Alec April 28, 2010 at 12:18 pm #

From What I have seen Halo: Reach will be a big improvement over Halo 3. I love how they are going back to more Halo 2 style play with hit scan weapons and other things. Also, Invasion will be amazing and fun!

  542. Franklin April 28, 2010 at 12:19 pm #

Never played ODST, was actually just going to pick it up just to get the Beta. I couldn’t be more excited for Reach after seeing all the video footage and the interviews. Game looks like a much needed refresh and I think it may just cost me another year or two of my life just like Halo 2 and 3 did before it!

  543. Ronald K April 28, 2010 at 12:19 pm #

I have been a big fan of Halo ever since I played the first one and I am eagerly awaiting what looks to be another great and fun entry.

  544. Jason B April 28, 2010 at 12:24 pm #

It’s always exciting when the Halo franchise gets a fresh coat of paint including updated graphics, weapons and maps.

I’m really looking forward to the new gametypes — particularly Headhunter, which seems to balance strategy and mass slaying. I have some reservations about Invasion, but hopefully it captures the fun of a chaotic Halo match with vehicles and grenades everywhere.

  545. Daniel April 28, 2010 at 12:27 pm #

The only thing I could say about Halo Reach…

BETTER GET SOME EARLY SLEEP … BEFORE IT COMES OUT… !
TRUST ME…. YOU ARE GOING TO NEED IT!

  546. alex gonzalez April 28, 2010 at 12:28 pm #

have been a fan of the halo games for the past 9 years Reach should be the best one yet it looks “it’s super awesome plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz pick me =)

  547. coil April 28, 2010 at 12:29 pm #

I love everything halo and I am super glad to play reach with a new and unique story with spartans with helmets off

  548. Peter April 28, 2010 at 12:30 pm #

I cant wait for all the splosions! The sound in this game seems insane and I can’t wait to be blowing up my living room. GOD I love halo

  549. Quentin Causey April 28, 2010 at 12:31 pm #

I think halo reach will be amazing, and i would be amazed if i got the code! i have bin playing halo sense it 1st came out in 2001! i can not wait eny longer to play this beta, i would do anything to get this code!

  550. qsgrebo April 28, 2010 at 12:31 pm #

i’ve liked all halo games (besides halo wars) so hope reach is as good if not better than halo 3

  551. Acerlux April 28, 2010 at 12:32 pm #

Halo Reach is definitely my most anticipated game of the year. There’s a level of quality that feels almost guaranteed in a Bungie game and I can’t wait to experience it yet again.

  552. Chris April 28, 2010 at 12:32 pm #

Reach looks amazing! Im a huge fan of the halo series.

  553. John April 28, 2010 at 12:35 pm #

  554. Faust II April 28, 2010 at 12:35 pm #

The Halo franchise continues to prove to be one of my favorites for online gaming, but I do greatly enjoy the fiction as well.

Reach just looks to be more of the good from Halo, as well as some new hotness. I’m just hoping the level design is akin to H2’s rather than H3’s, but the vids I’ve seen so far have me hopeful!

  555. Joe April 28, 2010 at 12:36 pm #

The Halo: Reach beta looks to be really cool. It seems Bungie has taken everything great about Halo 3 multiplayer, added new features, refined existing ones, and gave us and updated and fresh experience that will make for the best Halo multiplayer experience ever. I hope I get an early Friends and Family code to the Halo: Reach beta, but will be expecting the worst. Good luck to everyone on getting a key!

  556. Jeff Knopf April 28, 2010 at 12:36 pm #

Halo Reach is easily going to be the best game of 2010. I am unfortunatly going to buy the legendary edition of the game, no matter how much it will hurt my wallet. Everything about the game seems epic, Arena, Invasion, Loadouts, and everything.

  557. Kyle Paret April 28, 2010 at 12:38 pm #

hope this is a great game and hopefully they put everything they added to the game in a nice balance that will make the game fair like it always has been

  558. Matt April 28, 2010 at 12:38 pm #

Starting to feel the hype for this game. It is looking pretty good and even if they try to do to much it still looks fun, hope it turns out better than halo 3.

  559. Will Peachy April 28, 2010 at 12:39 pm #

Halo reach looks like a breath of fresh air. Modern warfare has completely dominated the market and it’s about time something came along to kick it’s ass off that podium. Best of luck to all in the competition.
    Peachy.
P.S thank god there’s no commando pro in Reach. 😉

  560. Linkavich001 April 28, 2010 at 12:41 pm #

My thoughts on Halo: Reach thus far:

    1. I’m extremely excited about the ranking system that will be implemented in Reach.

    2. I love the idea of Arena for the more stat tracking oriented player.

    3. I’m not all that fond of the current control schemes out there, and I’m hoping for another one or two to show up in the retail copy.

    4. The new matchmaking filter is something I’ve been hoping for since Halo 2 came out on the Xbox PHAT.

    5. Active Roster is a welcome addition (return), along with the addition of queue joining.

    6. The removal of elites from the ‘Primary’ multiplayer is such a blessing in my opinion.

    7. BUNGIE loves seven.

    8. The death of the Battle Rifle and Dual-wielding is lovely/grand/spectacular/etc.

    9. Assassinations = the Teabag of 2552

    10. Unique armors, the massive number of armor options isn’t a big deal to me but many of my friends are ecstatic about this.

    11. ????

    12. Profit. HUGE profit.

  561. Mark P April 28, 2010 at 12:42 pm #

I’ve been playing Halo since midnight November 15th, 2001. In almost 10 years I have yet to find a game that makes me as happy to play as the Halo games have. I enjoyed all three games in the Halo Trilogy and I have no doubt that Halo: Reach will not only be as good but better then those three amazing games. Bungie has gone past the call of duty in accomplishing new innovations in multiplayer gaming on consoles, and with all the new features of Reach, it will truly be the “definitive halo brought to you by the people who created halo”. 😉

  562. Nathan Kucharczk April 28, 2010 at 12:47 pm #

what i am looking forward to is the new metal system as well as the shot animation you do when you assassinate some one as a way to show them ‘ya i got the drop on you now you have to watch me kill you.’
i also cant wait to try the different armor abilities and mixing with different weapons to see what is my favorite combo.
over all id say that halo reach will bring a lot to the table even if it is not the finish product.

  563. Asian Inferno April 28, 2010 at 12:47 pm #

Halo: Reach will be the biggest blockbuster AAA title for 2010, surely beating out Modern Warfare 2 in competition. Bungie is sending out the Halo universe in a bang with revamped features and a brilliant prequel story leading up to their first game: Combat Evolved as well as tying in the events that Halo fans know thanks to the Halo: The Fall of Reach novel. It’s gonna be great!

  564. cranberies April 28, 2010 at 12:47 pm #

I am a multiplayer addict and I need to get my new game on as soon as possible. They are releasing too much info I am in overload!

  565. Chris April 28, 2010 at 12:47 pm #

Reach… what to say about it… “Its the definitive Halo game by the people who make Halo” – Martin O’ Donnell I think his quote just about sums it up don’t you?

  566. lohnesjc April 28, 2010 at 12:48 pm #

I thought it gave deeper inside, its kinda hard since every one from ign is posting of same game play. but i did like a clear of what halo mechanics and they weren’t based on weapon.

also this is article that dove deeper about how bungie took out currency of the invasion.

  567. cran April 28, 2010 at 12:49 pm #

Could any other company be so great to offer their fans this kind of beta deal. New Halo what could be better!

  568. David Wilson April 28, 2010 at 12:49 pm #

This is the definitive Halo made by the people who created Halo. That quote from Marty O’ Donnell along with Marcus Letho saying “Every neuron in my head is just firing Reach, Reach, Reach both perfectly illustrate how I fell about this game. All of the changes seem positive. Bungie has truly outdone itself. Armor abilities are top notch and seem well balanced. All the new weapons are welcome additions and the sniper reticule expanding after each shot will finally balance the sniper. Essentially, Reach is perfect and I just cannot wait to get some hands on time it’s going to be amazing!

  569. Chris April 28, 2010 at 12:49 pm #

Reach is going to be amazing… what else is there to say?

  570. cg April 28, 2010 at 12:50 pm #

“Class” skills in that they added Amour abilities. Sprint, Camo, JetPack, and Amour Lock (temp invisibility, but you cant move)
you pick a “loadout” at spawn. A class contains a particular set of starting weapons and an amour ability.

    It will be sweet!

  571. Carlos April 28, 2010 at 12:50 pm #

As bungie’s last halo game, i hope to be really awesome

  572. lohnesjc April 28, 2010 at 12:50 pm #

it was good to see someone dove into deeper information, even though it is limited but it was nice to hear. plus also someone noting what made halo and how it is the same even with the new things added on.

  573. caucky April 28, 2010 at 12:51 pm #

I can’t wait for armor abilities. I know that some maybe unbalanced to start but I know that Bungie will get the balance just right with the new weapons and abilities.

  574. Peter April 28, 2010 at 12:51 pm #

I can’t imagine how many people like me there are out there counting on Halo: Reach to do something serious in gaming. My dream is to go to MLG events so I can get any small measure of peace I can manage through all the college classes I’m taking. It would be great if I could get the Beta three days earlier because when the Summer semester starts I won’t have much time.

  575. shiv April 28, 2010 at 12:51 pm #

I like that they are throwing a few kick backs to halo 1… health packs and such. And removing the usable items like bubble shields and grav lifts.

  576. Benacious April 28, 2010 at 12:51 pm #

The original Halo is still my favorite even though I played the next two in the series. I would love for this game to get me excited about the Halo series again…

  577. Kyle Mac April 28, 2010 at 12:52 pm #

Everyone is commenting positive stuff about Reach, how it’s going to “be the Game of the Year” etc, while i’m on the fence. I’ve been a huge fan of the previous Halo’s but am very skeptical on how features like Armor Lock will be implemented in competitive play. I’m not here to jump on the bandwagon and say “OMFG HALO REACH BEST GAME EVAR!!!” I want to actually help make sure they don’t ruin the competitive aspect.

    Thanks

  578. Blue Boy April 28, 2010 at 12:53 pm #

Halo is the best game ever created and reach will be that sweet cherry on top of the worlds finest sunday.

  579. Joe April 28, 2010 at 12:54 pm #

The wait for Halo Reach is agonizing. I cannot wait for it’s release. I have been following every vidDoc and article release on it for months. Here’s hoping for the beta unlock code.

  580. Andrew April 28, 2010 at 12:55 pm #

love halo will love you more if I get a code

  581. Ian April 28, 2010 at 12:56 pm #

I can’t wait for the beta! Looks like it’ll be awesome!!

  582. omar April 28, 2010 at 12:57 pm #

I think halo reach could be the best of the series and after its release cod will be just a used up condom 🙂

  583. Niner April 28, 2010 at 12:58 pm #

I can’t wait to take on elites again in halo. Back to the pure war between Spartans and elites

  584. InflamedLlama April 28, 2010 at 12:58 pm #

I’m pretty excited about killing my friends and stealing their skulls for headhunter.

  585. Jack April 28, 2010 at 12:58 pm #

i think halo reach will be a good game becasue of the amount of game modes and choice we will get to use and play like invasion and the return of the PISTOL

  586. Anthony April 28, 2010 at 12:59 pm #

Halo reach is looking to be pretty tight.

  587. Kurt Johnson April 28, 2010 at 1:00 pm #

I feel that Halo: Reach will be another milestone for video games. The jet packs and new game types such as headhunter look very awesome. I like how you will be able to customize your classes and have 4 of them. I also like that you can make your spartan to virtually look exactly like you and maybe with the Xbox Vision Cam. I have an Xbox but I do wish it should come out for PS3 and then Bungie would make more money. Anyway, Reach looks to be the best game of 2010.

  588. Daryl Rodriguez April 28, 2010 at 1:00 pm #

I think that Bungie is catering a bit more to the community this time around. There’s nothing wrong with that.

I have a feeling that the gameplay will be more refined, given the experience that they have making Halo games. For example, the choice to use hitscan on weapons like the DMR and pistol. It also seems that instead of having to rush to the powerups and keep track of the respawns, everyone will be able to use a powerup at any time. They will have to use it wisely.

I like the fact that the Elites are different than the Spartans.

I hope that the campaign is better than the previous outings, which were good, but paled in comparison to Combat Evolved, in my opinion.

  589. Jeff April 28, 2010 at 1:00 pm #

I think this game looks extremely entertaining. The knew suit powers look like the will speed up the progression of the game and I’m excited to see how well they play out. This will hopefully be the best halo yet.

  590. Conor April 28, 2010 at 1:02 pm #

For me, this is probably going to be the greatest Halo that Bungie could create. It looks like it will probably be the final game in the Halo franchise and it looks like it is going out in a bang! I’m looking forward to see the new assassination system and obviously the jetpack but most of all i’m looking forward to seeing how the new ranking system will work. I like the way Bungie are trying to get the players to use their EXP, or CR now, on their appearance.

I’m not just looking forward to the multiplayer though, I think the campaign will be good. It will be interesting to see where Bungie will go with it.

    IT’S GUNNA BE GUD!!

  591. James April 28, 2010 at 1:02 pm #

I got Halo 3 2 months ago and now i love the game. I dont have ODST, so i really hope to get the code so i can download the beta and start playing.

  592. Chris April 28, 2010 at 1:02 pm #

I hope I get a beta code, I was on the halo 3 beta day 1 and that turned out to be a great game, hopefully reach is better.

  593. David April 28, 2010 at 1:03 pm #

Halo Reach looks fantastic. I just bought a 360, so I’m excited to have a shot at getting into a great multiplayer shooter while it’s still fresh.

  594. Mike April 28, 2010 at 1:05 pm #

This looks like the greatest FPS game to ever hit a console. It looks like a lot of fun. Plus, it looks like a HUGE step up in competitiveness from Halo 3. Hope I get chosen for a code, and good luck to everybody else!

  595. Gray April 28, 2010 at 1:06 pm #

I was worried that Reach might deviate too much from the Halo formula I know and love with the loadouts and end up being too much like COD but it looks like Bungie managed to add a lot to Halo without making it feel like another series. The loadouts make sense and I like how they will be dependent on the gametype and other factors. Can’t wait to play Invasion!

  596. Phillip Greer April 28, 2010 at 1:07 pm #

Halo Reach has everything: babes, soccer balls, elves, mountain lions, bowling elements and tank tops!

Oh wait, I was just informed it doesn’t have any of this….I hope it will still be pretty good.

  597. xorangejuicex April 28, 2010 at 1:09 pm #

i am really looking forward to this game. ODST was not the best game in the series and i wasn’t really a fan of the firefight missions. Reach is definitely going to the best halo game yet.

  598. Dylan April 28, 2010 at 1:12 pm #

I was worried when Bungie announced Reach at E3 last year that they were really starting to milk the franchise, but they have proved me wrong. Based on what I have seen Reach seems to be the definitive Halo experience and will be a great game to play. I’m surprised, but glad that Bungie was able to get me excited for another Halo game.

  599. Marcus Johnson April 28, 2010 at 1:12 pm #

Dude I am realy happy to see that bungie has made a whole bunch of changes to halo, i realy cant wait to play halo reach so if i win those codes to play halo reach early i would be the happyest kid on earth. plus i realy want recon for my awsome pictures on my file share so can you guys tell me how to submit them plz? Thanks for reading this and if you guys need to contact me just add me as a friend on your xbox. my gamertag is “Dmac48299x” or look me up on facebook! LATER!

  600. Omega156 April 28, 2010 at 1:12 pm #

I think Reach will Improve many aspects of the Halo franchise while adding something new. Best way to keep it fresh and competitive with todays modern FPS.

  601. Linken91 April 28, 2010 at 1:13 pm #

Reach will be the best Halo Multilayer yet.

  602. Chris April 28, 2010 at 1:13 pm #

This is easily going to be game of the year. It will give me something to do while I recover from my surgery. Hopefully sooner than Monday 😀

  603. Hunter Adams April 28, 2010 at 1:14 pm #

I’m really excited to see how the new vehicle mechanics will work and how they will affect gameplay as well as how the new heavy weapons and specifically lock on will change vehicular combat

  604. SteveDude April 28, 2010 at 1:14 pm #

Halo is my favorite game of all time. I am glad to see it going back to its roots and using some of the original aspects that made Halo CE so awesome! I can’t wait to try Reach out and plus how about them Elites? Them Elites look pretty damn sexy this time around. I might like to be one of them Elites.

  605. Alex April 28, 2010 at 1:15 pm #

It would be nice to get Halo: Reach multiplayer beta key because (the following has happened to me in the last week):

    1) My dog sat on my Halo: ODST case, crushing it (the disc was still inside & it too was crushed)
    2) Called around to see if I could find another copy & no store in my area has another copy of Halo: ODST
    3) Was going to deposit a check from work (I work at my University) & found out that there are “problems” with said check (was going to go drive around & try & find another copy of Halo: ODST)
    4) Found out my girlfriend of 3 years was cheating on me. Actually bought a ring & was planning on proposing to her.
    5) Some drunken idiot keyed my car

So, as you can see, I NEED this beta so that I can take out my frustration on some Halo noobs! 😉

    Thanks for holding this contest!

  606. James April 28, 2010 at 1:15 pm #

For Sure Reach will be the best game of the year… nothing will stand on Bungie’s way for best game of the year

  607. dean0null April 28, 2010 at 1:15 pm #

You guys should add pages. It’d save you bandwidth. That is unless you’re doing this for the contest in which case I have to say that it feels like I’ve been reaching for Reach since the advent of Halo 2. I never liked the system of dual wielding in Halo, so I’m glad that’s out. Also, Equipment seemed like some sort of tacked on power up. So Armor Abilities are a cool way to counteract and add complexity through loadouts. That’s awesome. The only thing I wish they’d change is the melee button to the B button and switching grenades back on a bumper button.

  608. Horace April 28, 2010 at 1:15 pm #

Can’t wait to see this game change up the world of online multiplayer! Too bad my odst disk is broken and I can’t afford another one 🙁

  609. Ben April 28, 2010 at 1:16 pm #

    Yep Yep

  610. MrPanic April 28, 2010 at 1:16 pm #

I don’t know if I should be excited about Halo Reach, that’s why I want in that beta. I saw the vids but I’m still not sure.

  611. Arukemos April 28, 2010 at 1:17 pm #

I am looking forward to Reach because after playing the crap out of both Halo 3 and CoD I am glad they are finally introducing loadouts into the game!

  612. Keegan April 28, 2010 at 1:18 pm #

This game looks like it is going to be so much fun. It is going to change up the way people game worldwide.

  613. Austin DJB April 28, 2010 at 1:21 pm #

I am excited to play with the weapon selections and being able to choose where to respawn. I imagine not getting much sleep the first few nights.

  614. Carl Walker April 28, 2010 at 1:22 pm #

I’ve tweeted and commented on this blog. Hook it up! Thx.

  615. m1ch1g4n April 28, 2010 at 1:22 pm #

Good luck everyone, Reach looks awesome

  616. Gene April 28, 2010 at 1:22 pm #

Hey, I’ve been an absolutely HUGE Halo fan ever since the start. I began playing in 2001 on the original Xbox, and soon moved over to Halo 2 in 2004. To date I currently own every Halo game ever made (Including both the PC and Xbox versions), and I’m an active community member on Bungie.net.

However, one thing that I highly regret is my lack of being able to play the Halo 3 beta. At the time I didn’t have an XBox 360, so I was physically incapible of playing it. Instead, I sat there on my computer, eyes glued to web streams. It was torture, and so this time I’ve vowed to myself that I must play the Reach beta as much as physically possible. But I’m going to need your help.

Do you think you can spare one code for me?

  617. Pilatus April 28, 2010 at 1:23 pm #

    I just love it!!

  618. Justin Page April 28, 2010 at 1:24 pm #

I have been keeping up on all of the new slick features that are being implemented into this upcoming Halo: Reach. I must say, it is really going to be a great stride forward for the Halo universe. Looking forward to rocking the beta! 🙂

  619. Alex Sebenski April 28, 2010 at 1:25 pm #

Reach is going be an example of what matchmaking should be. Queued game joining, selectable skill level, and creative new game types.

  620. Chris April 28, 2010 at 1:26 pm #

I personally can’t wait for Reach, I think the armor abilities will add a whole new dimension to the way multiplayer is played.

  621. George Johnson April 28, 2010 at 1:26 pm #

Few people deserve these codes in my opinion: the guy who made the hilarious “the beta, it’s super awesome” video should get one, so should hoovaloov for his awesome analysis of the GTTV videos. Halo is the reason I bought an Xbox and I was at the midnight releases for Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 3: ODST collectively. If I were given a code I would have plenty of time over the next few days to play. I just finished my final exams and will not be working any time soon, leaving me free to play the beta all weekend long.

  622. Devin April 28, 2010 at 1:28 pm #

Reach is looking amazing! I can’t wait for the beta and to try out the DMR.

Arr!!Can’t wait!!! The plasma launcher and needle rifle look pretty cool, too.

  623. Jon April 28, 2010 at 1:29 pm #

I am really looking forward to the beta. Halo 3 is starting to get old for me and I am hoping that this rekindles my love for Halo. I hope the armor abilities are sweet!

  624. dasugaking April 28, 2010 at 1:29 pm #

Halo Reach looks like the best Halo game yet. They improved on many aspects in Reach, especially the old flag “technique.” The new gametypes look great and I can’t wait till it comes out in september.

  625. Steven Pesa April 28, 2010 at 1:31 pm #

I love Halo Reach. May I please have a code?

  626. John April 28, 2010 at 1:32 pm #

I am a die hard halo but odst was a ripoff.

  627. Gilver April 28, 2010 at 1:34 pm #

I’m looking forward to the story AND the multiplayer. The more I see of Reach, the more excited I get! I can’t wait to play the beta!

  628. iPROMENADE April 28, 2010 at 1:35 pm #

I have been a halo player since Halo CE. Every halo game after that though has let me down in some way or another. With the release of ODST and Halo Wars I think the series is starting to get watered down. With this being the last Halo game for the time Bungie is making I really hope they go out with a bang.

Plus I really want to get my hands on the changes made to the game to see if it can compete with the advancements that games like Call of Duty, and BFBC2 has made.

  629. jeet April 28, 2010 at 1:36 pm #

This game is going to be frekin insane!!!

  630. Cody April 28, 2010 at 1:37 pm #

Halo Reach will be the definitive Xbox Multiplayer and Single Player experience that Bungie has ever offered to its fans.

Halo Reach will be the ultimate, and final, Halo offering from Bungie.

  631. Edward Doherty April 28, 2010 at 1:39 pm #

I Want To Defend My Generators From The Covenant!

  632. Cody April 28, 2010 at 1:39 pm #

This beta is going to be awesome.

  633. Haydn April 28, 2010 at 1:40 pm #

yeah all of the above probably yay they finaly got rid of annoying people who start swearing and team killing cant wait but i have to :,(

  634. Muzzamil April 28, 2010 at 1:43 pm #

I honestly can not wait for reach. It really looks like it’s an amazing balance between gameplay styles from both H1 and H2. They seemed to bring a lot of what worked in those games back. Love the two new game types headhunters and stockpile. I think stockpile could really end up being a very good competitive game type.

  635. CreativeTrash April 28, 2010 at 1:44 pm #

Reach sounds and looks outstanding! i was totally disappointed with the odst multiplayer… i thought it was going to be different from halo 3 – not so much. I really only get down on multiplayer, dont care so much for the story mode, i just like to kill people online and reach looks i will have lots of fun in NEW games and maps. totally looking forward to this one!

  636. Kaz April 28, 2010 at 1:47 pm #

I think that Halo reach will be the next step in online matchmaking. Unlike Infinity ward, bungie is making sure that Reach will be as perfect as possible when released, and it looks like they will continue to moderate it long after the release.

  637. gretscg April 28, 2010 at 1:49 pm #

    Reach will be very good.

  638. Shawn Lee April 28, 2010 at 1:49 pm #

Halo Reach is looking to be insane. It’s adding so much more then previous Halo games and all these added features are going to either make Reach the top dog of the Halo empire or it’s going to drag it down. Personally I’m hoping for it to dominate and I’ll be getting this as soon as I can.

  639. Rivlen April 28, 2010 at 1:51 pm #

I think Halo Reach will be the Halo that Halo 3, was supposed to be and chances are it won’t disappoint at all.

  640. Puff April 28, 2010 at 1:55 pm #

    And I quote:

    “The beta… it’s super awesome”.

  641. Jake April 28, 2010 at 1:56 pm #

I have being playing FPS since the days of Golden Eye, and I must say that after all the press this game has gotten, how beautiful the trailers look, and the literal tons of new features, this game might be one of the best ever made. I cannot wait for the new custom search options for multi-player (Because Halo 3 matchmaking is just SOOO AMAZING) and the new loadout options will make it much more challenging to predict how to deal with each enemy you face. And, no offense to any Cod fans in the thread, but n00b t00bs, dual rangers, and thermal m16’s are getting really old, and it’s time for something new xD

  642. Biltor April 28, 2010 at 1:57 pm #

Halo Reach introducing The Arena!!!! I mean who isn’t excited about getting a rating and division. All about the onyx baby!

  643. Roel April 28, 2010 at 1:59 pm #

I dont really have much of a comment. All I know is i’ve loved all the halo games theyve all pretty much rocked and I cannot wait to play this beta.

  644. Andrew April 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm #

I think that halo reach will be the biggest game of this decade

  645. Caretaker April 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm #

Like many others, I’m going to write a witty reply to have a slim chance of getting into the Reach BETA early. One in ninety odds aren’t bad, right?

As for Halo, it’s always been my favorite shooter series. Halo is the reason I bought an Xbox, Halo 2 is why I got Xbox Live, and Halo 3 is why I got a 360. I didn’t even like FPS games till I played the original Halo. It was like being awakened for the very first time. The power of the gun and taking down your opponents was invigorating.

As for Reach, it looks amazing. Bungie looks as if they’ve changed the gameplay in a way that it doesn’t seem like another Halo game with added guns but rather a whole new experience that plays the same way as the original games. No more imbalance with having to immediately find a BR to replace that crappy AR (or SMG in Halo 2), no more rushing for Sniper and fighting over it with your teammates because it’s the best power weapon, and no more relying on your teammates to make sure you win to keep your rank up. All-in-all, Reach looks like it’s going to be amazing and finally kill that annoying tend that is, “Modern Warfare”. I’m so sick of realistic shooters that I could puke.

Here’s to hoping for a BETA code and to laughing at so many people hitting thumbs down on all the comments. Halo fan unite!

  646. chris April 28, 2010 at 2:01 pm #

i think this game is goin to be the best halo game yet. probley even game of the year it has so many new feateres that just r increadable!!!!!!! all the load out, armor abilities, guns, and all the customization. the story is mabey even better than online. i know it might be the last halo but im go to make my time worth it. halo reach just took 160$ from me..

  647. Ryan Rey April 28, 2010 at 2:03 pm #

i would love to be 1 of the lucky 7 to get the beta codes 5 days early an get a head start on the online game play, its like 1 in a 1000 chance of winning!!

  648. Pedro Sorto April 28, 2010 at 2:03 pm #

Well, I’ve been playing halo for about 9 years now, yeah, I love it. I love to go back and see how much this series has progress as well as all the innovations it brought to gaming and Xbox Live. I am very excited to play Halo: Reach because I know bungie will be bringing back that core of gaming that we all love and hate. Halo: Reach will be filling our plates, but I am excited to get a small taste that is the beta. Plasma Launchers, grenade launched, revamped AR, the new Marksman rifle, plasma repeater and assassinations look awesome! Don’t even get me started on loadouts!

  649. Ralph April 28, 2010 at 2:03 pm #

I am not convinced that this game will be as good as COD6- I’d need to play it in order to prove it to myself.

  650. yokonozo April 28, 2010 at 2:05 pm #

i am so psyched for the reach beta and all those new weapons. sweet sweet needle rifles mmmmmmmmmm

  651. xI Amplified April 28, 2010 at 2:05 pm #

Halo Reach is going to re-define the Halo franchise. New features such as armor abilities and new game modes will add to an already fun and addicting gameplay. Bungie has not let Halo fans down with poor game and they won’t with halo Reach.

New spartan and emblem customization will be a feature that I, and many other players, are looking forward to in the beta and in the full game. More customization gives the player his own unique look rather than every player using the most popular helmet like in Halo 3.

Many other players and I are looking forward to the arena matchmaking system as well. Arena will hopefully give us competitive players the thrill of competing without the hassle of setting matches up.

To sum it all up, Halo Reach will be an amazing game like Halo 3, but will integrate many new features to keep people playing.

  652. sweeT! April 28, 2010 at 2:09 pm #

Good luck all! itd be sweet to play early!!

  653. Chase April 28, 2010 at 2:10 pm #

  656. Daniel Vanlandingham April 28, 2010 at 2:14 pm #

I was a huge Halo fan who was just blown away when I heard about reach! I read the book but now Im going to experience what happened and how reach was told. I get to play the beta but its just that my brothers have my copy of ODST :D. If I get this code… then its party time. But if I dont… then I have to wait until I get my copy. Either way I WILL play that Beta!

  657. DeUc3 April 28, 2010 at 2:14 pm #

(I dont think my previous post posted- this one is better anyway…)

From Marathon to the Halo Series, Bungie has always opened a can of whoop-ass on all other FPS game developers. Bungie has brought man (woman too) and marine (sexy-blue holograms as well) together, which has brought skull bashing, flag capping, kill screakin’ choas to the world of XBL. I have been sitting on Twitter for days trying to get it from other Gaming bloggers/magazine co’s…Technologizer(!!!), be that group that makes me go from six to midnight when you tell me I get 1 of the 7 remaining codes…make me feel like Charlie Bucket (Willy Wonka) and give me that golden ticket…I’ll even go on-line and you-tube myself singing it naked in the shower!!! (hmmm…ok…maybe not naked, but ill do it in the shower)

IF NOT……that’s ok…it’s not like it doesnt come out in another 5 days.
    : )
    Sincerely…DeUc3

  658. Mick Hilton April 28, 2010 at 2:15 pm #

Halo Reach looks truly awesome. I am very excited to start playing it and becoming competitive in gaming again. I love the Halo series. Bungie has done a marvelous job, truly. I’d love an early access too, but I don’t expect it.

  659. Franklin Markley April 28, 2010 at 2:16 pm #

  660. Desert0ctopus April 28, 2010 at 2:17 pm #

Reach looks like the biggest leap in the halo franchise since halo 2. Fall damage is back, and dual wielding is out. Reach is definitely going to be a culmination of all the best aspects of halo CE, 2, and 3. The multiplayer looks amazing, and the storyline is bound to be filled with the awesome story and characters that have made halo my favorite story ever told through the Video game medium.

  661. zeno64 April 28, 2010 at 2:17 pm #

Finally, reach will offer what solo gamers love!! Arena!!

  662. clOaKdOoD April 28, 2010 at 2:18 pm #

    Really looking forward to Reach!
Hopefully, loudouts won’t screw everything over, because it seems like the classic Halo of picking up weapons will be diminished. Armor Abilities are also straying from the “classic” Halo, but Halo 3 did it fine. Hopefully, these will be better.

  663. Travis April 28, 2010 at 2:19 pm #

Halo Reach looks like the best game I have ever seen. I am so pumped to play it. My favorite thing I have seen so far is the armor abilities, it looks like these are going to completely change the way Halo is played and I for one am pretty pumped to jump in and witness it first hand.

  664. Hupla66 April 28, 2010 at 2:19 pm #

I have been a halo fan sense the first game. Although I played the games I found the fall of Reach for more enjoyable, and now seeing that they are making a game based off the same planet I believe it would be an amazing thing to see and play. Gameplay wise I cant wait to try out the new and different things that have been added, as well as making my own SIII

  665. zman April 28, 2010 at 2:20 pm #

I think Bungie is finally taking a chance with the Halo series. Perhaps no longer having to answer directly to Microsoft has given them more creative breathing room. Either way, Reach’s differences from previous Halo titles seems to indicate that Bungie is willing to try new things and aren’t quite exhausted the Halo franchise. The beta will obviously show what multiplayer has to offer, but I think Bungie could follow up their ODST Halo 3 expansion with arguably the best single players offering since Combat Evolved.

  666. Kasey Johnson April 28, 2010 at 2:21 pm #

I cannot wait for this beta and for Reach in general. I’ve been playing Halo since the beginning and I love the idea of design changes to mimic Halo CE style a little bit.

  667. paul April 28, 2010 at 2:21 pm #

modern what? bungie is taking everything good about the halo series and taking everything bad out. everyone knows MP is going to be off the hook, but i’m just as excited about SP.

  668. Robbie April 28, 2010 at 2:21 pm #

I can’t wait for Reach. I have read every weekly update and watched all the ViDocs so far. This early access key will be awesome to get to play with Bungie and some select media sources.

  669. bRaNdOn April 28, 2010 at 2:22 pm #

I really think this game will be awesome, I think it’s an action-packed game yet having a great story and connecting every point together. I think it will have more of like a Halo 2 look, and it will be awesome.

    I want!

  676. rowboat 000 April 28, 2010 at 2:28 pm #

Bungie’s pulling out all the stops with Reach. Can not wait for this. Enough of the same Halo and enough of a different Halo to satisfy.

  677. Endy April 28, 2010 at 2:28 pm #

I’m quite excited for Reach, particularly the chance to play in a squad environment with other spartans. Although I recognize the shift from S-II’s to S-III’s might cause some trouble in some purist’s eyes, I think that the ability to play with a varying and more unstable segment of the super-coldier community is an excellent draw.

Plus, needle rifle looks amazing. new meaning to bip bap bam.

I really wan to get into the beta early, I have waited until midnight for each and every game in the Halo franchise. I really can’t wait for Reach because it has brand new video gaming technologies and finally tells the beginning of the fight, I’ve finished the fight, its time to start it.

  679. graham smith April 28, 2010 at 2:29 pm #

im super excited about halo reach because i love customized armor and loadouts and variety in gameplay which the elites will bring. I actually threw up with excitement yesterday.

Halo Reach looks like a slick and vast improvement over the last real Halo game that came out a few years ago. Since playing Xbox connect and over Xbox live in Halo 2, the game has changed mostly for the better. The original Halo was easily my favorite and it seems as if this new Halo Reach is improving on that original formula and making it 100% better. Halo 3 seemed to attempt to become more original Halo oriented which is a good thing but this new installment in the series is mixing the best of old and new. I’m truly excited for this new game and I hope to be playing everyone in the beta soon enough.

  686. joe s April 28, 2010 at 2:31 pm #

    it just looks redic

  687. Jimmy April 28, 2010 at 2:32 pm #

I think Halo Reach is goin to be their best game yet. Can’t wait to see how forge turns out.

  688. the other dark April 28, 2010 at 2:32 pm #

Halo: Reach is going to be sooo cool.

  689. graham smith April 28, 2010 at 2:32 pm #

The multiplayer is going to be amazing

  691. kuro April 28, 2010 at 2:35 pm #

I can’t wait to play this. The Armor abilities look sweet. And new weapons too.

  692. Christos Papadimas April 28, 2010 at 2:35 pm #

I truly cannot wait to play this beta. My birthday, as a matter of fact is April 29th, so it really would be the ultimate present to be able to play this game on my birthday. I think this game is revamping the series completely and I am totally psyched to play this. I’d really like to have the code and be able to play it five days early. Once again, this would be the ultimate birthday present. Thanks

  693. lordguy April 28, 2010 at 2:36 pm #

It is looking as if it will revolutionize the way games are played like how Halo CE revolutionized gaming.

  694. Tombz April 28, 2010 at 2:38 pm #

Hi, I’m a zoologist and I approve of this game! Seriously though, I think Reach is shaping up to be a very very good thread.

  695. Alex Prybell April 28, 2010 at 2:38 pm #

I really can’t wait for the armor abilities. I’m most excited for Sprint, I think that getting a quick boost of speed every now and then is an awesome addition to Halo’s gameplay.

  696. Jeremie MacDonald April 28, 2010 at 2:41 pm #

Halo has one of the most competitive fields of competition of any game Ive played and Halo reach is just adding more great things to take the player to another level. From there matchmaking system which was great before and now seeming to be even better to the new armor abilities and the new weapons this game has it all and if not we`ll play it anyways because we love Halo that much!

  697. Keith Mattke April 28, 2010 at 2:42 pm #

Super pumped for this game! Especially like the overall feel of encounters being longer as opposed to being dropped in a hailstorm of dual wielding and AR bullets in Halo 2/3

  698. Liam McCarthy April 28, 2010 at 2:43 pm #

Halo: Reach is looking to be a fantastic new entry into the Halo series. With all the improvements and refinements to the gameplay, I truly believe this to be the definitive Halo game as Bungie said it will be.
I hope to see you in the beta!

  699. Mike April 28, 2010 at 2:44 pm #

This is going to be amazing stepping back into the suit of a Spartan as apposed to an ODST.

  700. Gary Zibrat April 28, 2010 at 2:47 pm #

I’m a hardcore gamer and I am a little worried that Bungie will main stream the game too much. I like games that have a large skill gap. Nonetheless, Bungie knows what they are doing and I’m sure they will accommodate for everyone.

  701. Ryan Allen April 28, 2010 at 2:49 pm #

I really want a beta code. Halo Reach looks really good. It really shows what bungie can do.

  702. Eric April 28, 2010 at 2:51 pm #

Here is what I am most looking forward to:

    – The Arena (I wonder how MLG gametypes will be tied in later on)
    – The DMR (obviously)
    – The refurbished pistol (hopefully)
    – The “Sprint” Armor Ability
    – The upgraded “Y-menu” from Halo 2

  703. Cat April 28, 2010 at 2:51 pm #

I’ve been a huge Halo fan for as long as I can remember. Halo CE was my very first Xbox game, and I played it almost nonstop. I was psyched when I heard Halo 2 was coming out, and even more psyched when I heard about Halo 3. I can’t wait until Reach comes out.

  704. Corey April 28, 2010 at 2:53 pm #

I am so pumped about reach. i really dont like that they changed up the control scheme again, but i guess ill get used to it. i love how they have changed up the game a little bit and the new “veto” option in matchmaking seems like a way better improvement to the one in halo 3. Thanks for the contest!

  705. SteveS April 28, 2010 at 2:54 pm #

Halo Reach will bring take what the prior Halo’s have done and advance on them to create the best Halo ever. Bungie’s development process is second to none in creating amazng games and this beta will continue in that trend as Bungie fights for world domination. :p

  706. Mike April 28, 2010 at 2:56 pm #

Oddly, one of my greatest wished for Halo: Reach was to be able to sprint. Bungie delivered that, and a whole lot more. I’m eager to try my hands at Invasion.

  707. Jon E April 28, 2010 at 2:56 pm #

Of course, I’ve been hearing nothing but CoD Mod v Halo comments for the last month since people have begun buggin over the beta coming out. But look back on Halo’s journey up until now: the first one had a sketchy release that turned into a phenomenon and brought the XBOX all the FPS fans (n00bs alike, I sucked at Halo 1) together. The second? Don’t tell me you forget how big that one got. There’s still 12 guys online playing it 2 weeks after original XBOX Live got shut down. The third, while not the conclusion to the epic story that we all wanted campaign-wise, updated the look and gameplay of online multiplayer. I only have high hopes for this beta. Now, to find a copy of ODST (didn’t really get that game)

  708. Phil April 28, 2010 at 2:57 pm #

Playing the Reach Beta would make my dreams come true. Now, are you going to grant my dream or are you dreamcrushers? ARE YOU DREAM CRUSHERS CRUSHING MY DREAM!?!?! Seriously, what if the make-a-wish foundation was the crush-a-wish foundation? Would you donate to that? I don’t think so!

  709. Derek April 28, 2010 at 2:57 pm #

Need an early beta key! Hook it up please!

  710. shArkbAitin April 28, 2010 at 2:57 pm #

Well with all this commotion going on and the beta getting so close it’s really made me want to go and dust off the good ole “Fall of reach” book. So reading threw that again at the moment is a blast and now making me even more anxious, but in a good way. Well so far it definitely looks like it’s shaping up well for me, somethings i disagree with like the new assassination moves. But the armor, plus the different skills between the spartans and the elite’s and the DMR are really getting me exited. Oh and can’t forget invasion, that’s probably the biggest thing im looking forward to, love huge team gameplay.

  711. Seth McFarland April 28, 2010 at 2:58 pm #

Halo Reach looks like an absolutely amazing game. Bungie has redefined the FPS genre repeatedly and I believe that Reach will continue that trend.

  712. Steve Dutzy April 28, 2010 at 2:59 pm #

Halo: Reach makes me giddy like the schoolgirl I once was.

  713. Matt April 28, 2010 at 2:59 pm #

This game will be the best halo game ever the graphics look awesome and they are doing a good job trying to balance the armor abilities.

  714. Kermit April 28, 2010 at 3:00 pm #

My first exposure to the Halo universe was nearly 10 years ago reading “The Fall of Reach.” For many of us, we’ve romanticized the time when multiple Spartans fought just as we may have once imagined the time before the original Star Wars when there were multiple Jedi Knights. Now Bungie is delivering what we’ve dreamed of. As wasn’t the case with George Lucas, I have no doubt that Bungie can pull it off.

  715. Gary April 28, 2010 at 3:04 pm #

Love the Halo Universe all the way, read the books, played the games, can’t wait till Reach comes out.

  716. Joey Boy April 28, 2010 at 3:07 pm #

    MUST. HAVE. REACH. (EARLY!)

  717. wes302 April 28, 2010 at 3:09 pm #

i would love halo reach early. halo is what got me into gaming and away from playstation. this game looks amazing and should be best halo game yet.

  718. robert April 28, 2010 at 3:10 pm #

Reach will be the best halo game yet. Too bad its bungie’s last halo game. It looks great even in the beta and I can’t wait to see he finished product.

  719. Chad April 28, 2010 at 3:11 pm #

I cant wait for the sprint!

  720. REMoyen April 28, 2010 at 3:13 pm #

What I really like about Reach in terms of Beta launch is that it is near finals. This is my last week of college classes before the big Finals rush weeks. I turn to Halo as my ultimate stress reliever, as I get to pwn those noobs with a humiliating teabag in the end. I have played Halo since the first release on the Xbox, from that moment Halo was my favorite FPS. It was innovative and entertaining, and the grunts are hilarious. What I like about the development of Halo is that it has evolved for the community and for the better, in most cases. I am really excited for the return of the Pistol. It may require 2 more shots to get a kill over Halo C.E. but the return of a scope is worth it. I am also tempted to try the DMR. I was a fan of the BR and its versatility, I cannot wait to see its predecessor in its glory. Another thing I am looking to try are the newly improved Elites. They just seem BA. Since they were a great enemy in Halo. That is just a little taste of what I hope I am in for with Halo Reach.
