People say the press conferences of E3 are better off skipped and watched later on G4. But if you didn’t show up at USC’s Galen Hall for the Microsoft presser, you missed the rush of seeing Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Tony Hawk and Steven Spielberg take the stage. There was no shortage of substance, either, to the point that Microsoft couldn’t contain one of its biggest announcements within the time allotted. Furthermore, the presentation showed a comprehensive plan for appealing to casual gamers with Project Natal, devoted players with a stable of exclusive hits and people with no interest in games thanks to Last.fm, 1080p video and social networking. Good show.
