The Mac App Store is Live

Apple’s Mac App Store has launched. (You’ll need to download OS X 10.6.6 to get it.) I wrote about it for Techland and will be back with more thoughts once I’ve had a chance to use it a bit. (First impression: “Wow, this really is virtually identical to the iOS App Store experience.”)

    The biggest news about the App store IMO is that you can buy Apple's own apps at discounted prices (Aperture for $79 instead of $199 for example) and the licensing terms say you can "use the Apple Software only on Apple-branded computers that you own…" with emphasis on the S in computers.

    what do you do if you are more likely to sleep with someone with AIDs than use MAC stuff, And I feel about the same as using these social sites. But if you are on the other side of the fence, I could see how this might make you go dancing in the streets with happiness. And good luck trying to retain your personal privacy status.
