A 99-year-old lady from Lake Oswego, Oregon–an early-1930s graduate of Reed College, which Steve Jobs dropped out of around forty years later–loves her new iPad:
I LOVE this. David Worthington and I were talking the other day, this is where the iPad is going to shine. Once that 3G comes out, it’s a PERFECT device for seniors just because it isn’t that hard to use at all.
This is sad. Leave the poor lady alone.
You know, those fools who complain the iPad doesn’t have a camera, or isn’t burdened with Adobe’s buggy piece of obsolete bloatware are missing the point. The iPad isn’t just something that non-techies CAN use, it’s something that they WANT to use! That’s market share, baby! You’re not going to see any viral vids of 99 year old babes using the HP Slate, or any of the other iPad copycats thrown together by the gray box makers in a futile gesture to make money off Apple’s innovations. Ain’t gonna happen. Here’s a nickel’s worth of free advice: short Adobe and go long on Apple. That’s how wealth is created in the post-flash era.
