Patent filed October 13th, 1906

First, some prehistory. Americans have been attempting to replicate team sports in miniature for nearly as long as they’ve played team sports at all. This illustration originated in a patent for an ambitious baseball simulation that dates from the days when Tinkers, Evers, and Chance were all still on the Cubs’ active roster. I don’t know if were ever produced, but I hope so–it looks like it woulda been a lot of fun.
